Meeting already once this season, the Hounds prevailed with a 1-0 victory at Highmark Stadium on April 14. Pittsburgh has gone streaking in general, as in addition to its five-game unbeaten streak, the club has not allowed a goal in four-straight. During this unbeaten stretch, the Hounds have outscored opponents by a whopping 8-to-1 ratio. Facing Canadian foes (Ottawa and Toronto) has been a kind venture for the Hounds, as they are unbeaten in 11 matches against the current Northern competition, including 3-0 this season. The Hounds remain the last team in the conference to concede defeat on the road (3-0-4). The accomplishment is all the more impressive considering of the seven matches the Hounds have played away from home, five of those have come against squads with a.500 record-or-better. Despite its losing record, Ottawa still presents a tricky opposition this weekend. The club is coming off an impressive victory on the road over Indy on Wednesday and has won three of its last four matches at TD Place. Running its shutout streak to 397 minutes on Wednesday, the Hounds now have 11 clean sheets on the season - three more than the next best in the entire league. Pittsburgh s defense, without doubt, has been sensational, allowing the lowest amount of goals scored in the league at seven - three less than the next best in Nashville at 10. Certainly not the only reason, but the return of Joe Greenspan from injury on June 16 hasn t hurt to say the least. When the mammoth center back is on the pitch, the Hounds have yet to concede a goal this year minutes total. Sunday s match features two of the top keepers in Pittsburgh s Dan Lynd and Ottawa s Maxime Crépeau. The duo is tied, alongside Nashville s Matt Pickens, for the league lead in clean sheets with eight. With points in three of his last four games, midfielder Kenardo Forbes continues to assert himself in the Hounds attack. His most recent match saw him assist on a Kevin Kerr header, as he registered his 100th career appearance in USL play. Forbes has also now recorded four or more assists in each season he s played in the USL (since 2015). Speaking of Kerr, the midfielder has been a threat each time he s stepped on the field this season. Tied for the team lead with Forbes with four assists, Kerr s 35 chances created ranks fourth in the Eastern Conference SCHEDULE & RECORD League Record: Home: Away: Non-League Play: MARCH Sat.
