Only two points separate the two clubs in the Eastern Conference table, with the Hounds holding the upper hand with 15 points and a third-place standing. Friday s game marks the 500th game in Hounds history, including regular season (458 matches), postseason (17 matches) and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (25 matches) play. Pittsburgh has competed against 80 different teams Indy will make it 81 since The match also begins a grueling stretch of upcoming play for the Hounds. With the addition of Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup action beginning next Wednesday, Pittsburgh could potentially play up to eight games five league and three Open Cup in the next month depending on how the club fares in the single-elimination tournament. If that wasn t enough to test depth, the schedule kicks up a notch in league play as well with only Nashville SC (9th) and Richmond Kickers (13th) the two opponents currently not in playoff position. To date, the Hounds have faced only one opponent with a winning record, playing first-place FC Cincinnati to a 2-2 draw at Nippert Stadium. Indy presents an interesting challenge, as the club recently handed reigning league-champion Louisville City FC its first loss of the 2018 campaign. Only the Hounds (5) currently have more clean sheets recorded than Indy (4) in the East. The lone unbeaten team remaining in the league, the Hounds also boast an unblemished record at home (3-0-1), having yet to concede a goal (plus-6) and currently riding a three-game winning streak at Highmark Stadium. Indy has fared well on the road so far this year though, holding a record with wins at Richmond and North Carolina. The longest-tenured member on the club, Kevin Kerr continues to stamp his legacy in Black and Gold. Kerr moved into second all-time in franchise history in scoring with 68 career points passing Thiago Martins after last weekend. The achievement is just another in a growing list, as Kerr s marks in appearances (138 3rd), goals (25 T-5th), assists (22 T-3rd) and shots (164 2nd) all rank in the franchise Top 5 in league play. Forward Neco Brett continues to assert himself at the top of the attack. The former RMU standout captured his second USL Team of the Week honor earlier this week, as his five goals scored lead the Eastern Conference.
