With only two points separating the clubs in a crowded top four of the East and a chance for a home postseason tilt, the stakes for the Hounds are particularly massive. Though the club has made the postseason three times since the modern era of USL began play in 2011 the last appearance coming in 2015 it has never hosted a playoff match. The Hounds got the best of their purple counterparts earlier this season, snatching a 1-0 victory on June 27 at Slugger Field. Only its second victory in head-to-head competition (2-5-2), Pittsburgh will look to complete the season sweep for the first time in club history. Accomplishing a sweep will be bucking history though, as the Hounds are all-time at home against Lou City, being outscored 9-to-3. Pittsburgh will hope its recent hot play at home, five games unbeaten (3-0-2), will translate to a couple franchise firsts tonight. Saturday s match will mark the fourth of five straight matches against teams currently in playoff position. Last time out against Bethlehem, the Hounds scored four goals for just the second time this season. Furthermore, all four tallies were posted by four different players the first time at least four different Hounds scored in a game for the club since its July 30, 2016, road match against Wilmington Hammerheads FC. Two trends to keep in mind come Saturday night: who scores first and how much. The Hounds have found success when tallying the first goal, holding a record. On the other hand though, the Black and Gold have yet to capture three points when allowing two or more goals (0-3-2). A dangerous proposition considering Louisville has scored 18 goals in its past four road matches (4-0-0). Snapping a four-game goalless streak last time out, Neco Brett picked up his team-leading 14th goal of the season. The total ties him for fifth-most in a single season in club history, while his 33 points (14G/5A) already has him occupying the fifth spot in that category. Rookie defender Thomas Vancaeyezeele continues to be a key cog in the Hounds machine, leading the club in minutes played at 2,279 only Jordan Dover (2,120) and Kenardo Forbes (2,074) have also eclipsed the 2,000-minute mark. Vancaeyezeele is also the only Hound to have more than 60 clearances (60) and interceptions (61) this season SCHEDULE & RECORD League Record: Home: Away: Non-League Play: MARCH Sat.
