23 Dear participating teams! During the week ParaVolley Europe is going to discuss with each nation personally about the development of sitting volleyball. We wish to hear your ideas and hope you can share your experiences and knowledge with us in order to develop our sport further and make it more fascinating among young people, beginners and other partners. Please read the following information and you will get the idea what we are working on. Introduction to Small Sided Games ParaVolley Europe (PVE) and VolleySLIDE (VS) are in discussions with World ParaVolley about the implementation of a small sided game to be used for low level competitions to aid the development of new Sitting Volleyball players. It is planned that this small sided game will be of particular use for junior athletes (15 to 21 years of age). The long term plan is to develop a full pathway of modified games so that younger players can move through the various formats ending up in the 6 v 6 game with a full range of the required technical skills. To confirm, the concept and motive behind the use of small sided games is a reduced num-ber of players = a higher number of ball contacts, and consequently learning opportunities. With this questionnaire we hope to learn what formats (smaller than the traditional 6 v 6) you are using or you would prefer to use within your country, both for training and com-petition. We thank you in advance for your assistance with this, but as you can understand it is to everyone s advantage to have a standard approach across the whole world. According to information that we will collect from the participating nations of the men s and women s European Championships in 2015 we will write a summary which will be published on the PVE and VS website in the end of Thank you very much for your cooperation.
