3 CLUB NEWS While the Cup-tie against Drumcondra did not turn into the exciting game many hoped it would, nevertheless we feel that Bohemians played very well and well deserved their win. As usual our experienced players did their stuff in great style but it was very encouraging to see our young players adapting themselves to Cup football; here we must pay a compliment to David Mason who in his first senior game played so well. David has been in our youth team and has already 3 International Youth Caps to his credit. During the last week or so we gained one fine player and said goodbye to another. Denis Lowry has left the Club to join Sligo Rovers and if Rovers get half the service from Dinny that we did they will indeed be lucky. Dinny, a model player on and off the field, did as much as anyone to bring the Cup to Dalymount last year and indeed Sligo Rovers themselves would be the first to agree. We feel that Sean Thomas has made another fine capture in Sammy Kelly who has been signed from Blackburn Rovers -we hope Sammy will be happy with us and will play in our colours for the remainder of his career. The League leaders and favourites for the title, Cork Hibernians, are our guests today and if Cork win this afternoon they will feel they are almost home. They have beaten Bohemians by a single goal in the two games between the Clubs this season and will be hard to beat today; however if Bohs play as well as they have been playing recently a first class game is on the cards with the issue likely to be in doubt up to the final whistle.
