3 By: Evelyn Bojkov and Audrey Lamothe Grade 2 students are starting to learn about fairytales. They wrote letters to the fairy godmother and drew posters of the big bad wolf. Their projects look awesome and really creative! Keep up the good work, Grade 2! This month the grades 1 and 2 students went to visit the Kirkland Library. They met with the librarians and learned how to classify the books. After the library, the students had to write a short story. They enjoyed their visit and learned many new things. This year for Remembrance Day the grades 1 and 2 students wrote postcards to the soldiers and veterans. They sent them and hopefully some will write back. The students also attended the Remembrance Day ceremony where Chief Warrant Officer Gilles Gagnon spoke to the school. They made beautiful wreaths to remind us of the soldiers that died in war.

4 By: Amelia Marcellus and Dia Khoury The grade 4 students went on a trip to the Eco Museum.They saw coyotes, snowy owls, foxes and actually discovered that the arctic fox was blind and that was kind of the reason they had him.they also saw ducks, turkeys and deer. A grade 4 s favourite animal is the arctic fox. The grade 4 students are doing a play about Charlie Brown s Christmas Mr. Forsyth will be in charge of the play. Mrs. Perdue- Lillie and Mme France will be painting the sceneries. Ms. Peters will be playing the piano. There will be singing by the choir. The kids practices are on Tuesdays and the play will be on December 11 th. We are really looking forward it.

5 By: Lauren Gale and Diana Maltezos The grade six students are raising money for the West Island Mission by doing chores at home. With the money they earn, they will buy a gift for someone the same age as them. They also have to write an essay on what they can do in their community to make someone s life more comfortable. In the new year, the grade 6 students will have other opportunities to give back. Danielle Dalziel was very happy to be chosen for student of the month. She is in grade 6. She enjoys skiing, snowboarding and playing with her sister. She is on the green team and her favourite subject is Science. Her favourite past time is watching Power Rangers with her sister. Ce mois, les élèves du 5eme année ont fait un projet de sciences humaines en comparant le mode de vie des enfants du début du 20ieme siècle et aujourd hui. Ils ont utilisé les Ipads pour faire leurs recherches et ont collé les informations sur un carton. Ils ont travaillé forts pour un projet magnifique.

6 By: Victoria Tran and Anika Singh November 11 th was Remembrance Day for the people who fought for Canada and around the world. The grade four students performed a poem called Au Champs d Honneur. The grade threes performed a poem called Destiny. The grades three and four students performed a song called Let There Be Peace On Earth. We met Chief Warrant officer Gilles Gagnon. He recently came back from his mission in Egypt. His other missions were in Africa, etc. The grades five and six students stayed to ask him questions. This month is literacy month so, of course, we would have a Book Fair and Bake Sale. Students were able to purchase a variety of books (donated\used and new). It was also a chance to donate books to the library and we thank the parents for baking and bringing some delicious goodies and treat such as cakes, cupcakes, cookies, juice boxes, etc. Raffle tickets were also sold for things such as Joshua Perets clothing baskets, dinner with Mr. Posh, a hockey stick, an aquarium, Mega Blocks merchandise, free dress day, etc. I hope you all enjoyed that experience and a big thank you to the librarians and volunteers for another successful year!

7 By: Anna Droppert and Taylor Nix This month the basketball season began. There is a division 1 and a division 2 team. The division 1 team is more competitive. For the division 1 team students must try out to be picked for the team. There are twelve players on both the girls and the boys team. The students train and play games and tournaments. We interviewed Andrea Kapusy and Can Celik. Q: Do you like being on the basketball team? A(Can): I really enjoy being on the team. Q: How long have you been playing on the team? A(Andrea): I have been on the Kuper team for three years but I do not play on a team out of school. A(Can): It is my first year on the team but I have been playing basketball for 3 years. Q: Which position do you play? A(Andrea): I play point guard. A(Can): I am captain with Francis. A(Andrea): For the girls, captains are Prakriti and Annie. Q: How do you think the team is doing? A(Andrea): I think the team is doing great. A(Can): Me, too. This month we have interviewed players from the division 1 hockey team. First we interviewed the captain, Emma Bishop. This is what she had to say! Q: How is it being the only girl on the team and do you get along? A: Yes! It is fun to be the only girl and I get along with everyone. Q: Were you happy to be the captain? A: Yes, I was very happy to be the captain because I m the only girl. Q: What position do you play and how many years have you played for the Kuper team? A: I play defence on the team and I ve been playing on the team for 2 years. Q: How do you think your team plays? A: I think that the team is nice and strong. Q: Do you play for another team and, if so, for how many years? A: Yes, I play for Lakeshore and I started playing in grade 3. I also would love to play on team Canada. Thank you Emma now we have Nicholas Barnfield with some more information. Q: What position do you play and how many years have you played? A: I play forward and I have been playing for 2 years. Q: What do you think of your team? A: I think the team is excellent. Q: Who is the goalie? A: The goalie is Philip Rondina Q: Who are the assistant captains? A: Maxime and Mackenzie. Q: What other team do you play for and, if so, how many years? A: I play for Lakeshore and I started playing at 5 years old.

Gaudin K-5 Owls: They are very cute and they are original. Miss. Josie K-4 Ladybugs: They are small, cute critters. Miss. Kim K-5 Turtles: They are cute, very intelligent and they take their time to complete tasks with care. Miss.Treta K-4 Bunnies: They are cute and cuddly like the 4 year olds. Miss. Margaret/Miss. By: Andrew Vandenbussche and Alvaro Rubio Doodle for Google Doodle 4 Google is a national competition inviting students, grades kindergarten to 12 in Canada, to redesign the logo for the Google.ca homepage. The winning doodle will be featured on the Google Canada homepage for 24 hours. The winning student will receive a $10,000 scholarship, a Google Chromebook, and a $10,000 grant to their current school along with a trip to Toronto to view a special exhibition of the top doodles at the Royal Ontario Museum in The top 75 entries will receive other prizes.
