JV Girls Basketball (8-6) One of our best wins came against Franklin and one of our better games came against Lansdowne. Both were great teams and we were able to get the win with Franklin. This season taught the girls lessons about team work and how being united as one is better than 5 individuals on the court. Coach Miller looks forward to reflecting on this year, building off of it, and making next year even better. She feels very fortunate to coach such a great group of girls and she can t wait to see what they can do next year.
3 V O L U M E 4, I S S U E 1 5 News From the Athletic Department P A G E 3 Varsity Boys Basketball (4-19) All-division-Joe Weir (BCPS Senior All-star game participant) Winner of the BCPS Sportsmanship Award Although it was not an entirely successful season on the court, the Generals had a world of success as a program overall. Big time performances, and varsity newcomers fueled an exciting season and an environment of togetherness and hard work. Senior forward, Joe Weir, led the team with averages of 17 points and 9 rebounds per contest. We are very proud of first year varsity athletes Tyriq Wilson and Hammond Dugan for the contributions in scoring and rebounding. The leadership of Kyle Gaspay and Tanner Meeks made it easy for teammates to push themselves at practices and compete every game night. The climax of this season involved a Winter Tournament championship at Dundalk High School where Joe Weir and Hammond Dugan both averaged double-doubles to lead the team and earn first team honors. JV Boys Basketball (1-14) This season will be defined by the fact that the team played with heart and energy each and every game. They suffered tough loss after tough loss but not one time did the players give up or put the blame on a teammate. It was inspiring seeing the kids celebrate after their first win against Overlea. Their coach has a tremendous amount of respect for them because of how hard they pushed themselves this year. The future is certainly bright for this program.
4 P A G E 4 News From the Athletic Department Varsity & JV Wrestling (8-16) As a team, they were able to overcome giving up multiple forfeits, having several young wrestlers in the lineup, and still managing to beat Dulaney twice.
