3 COSTUME INFORMATION: Arts in Mtin Dance Academy Recital 2014: Recital Infrmatin Packet Page 3 NUDE LEOTARD (Briefs fr bys) ALL DANCERS MUST WEAR A NUDE LEOTARD/BRIEFS UNDER THEIR COSTUMES. Nude letards can be purchased lcally at Disc Sprts r Main Street Dancewear, r nline at The clr shuld be as clse t the dancer s natural skin tne as pssible. Nude letards keep cstume changes quick, easy, and mdest. Male dancers wear nude briefs. Regular underwear is nt permitted. Students wh wish t wear bras must purchase a nude/flesh tned bra and panties frm a dance retailer t wear under their cstume. TIGHTS Tights are included with yur cstume. Tights must be wrn ver the nude letard. (We recmmend having an extra pair f tights n hand, just in case ne pair gets a run!) FINALE COSTUME All dancers perfrm in the Finale. Finale Cstume is prvided by parents and is NOT included in the cstume payment. Finale cstume is slid black pants (any length/style, n jeans) with the AIM Recital T-Shirt. Dancers will have bare feet n stage fr the Finale. AIM RECITAL T-SHIRT The AIM Recital T-Shirt will be available fr purchase fr a very reasnable price, exact cst TBD. We want YOU t design the Recital T-Shirt! Submit yur shirt design fr the theme One Hit Wnders in the bin n the frnt desk. The student r parent wh created the winning t-shirt design will receive tw additinal FREE tickets t the Recital. HAIR & MAKE-UP Hair and Make-Up Inf will be sent via with links t instructinal vides. All female dancers must have their hair in a bun fr the perfrmance. COVER-UP Students must wear a cver-up ver their cstumes at all times while waiting t perfrm/rehearse. 5 Recital 2014: Recital Infrmatin Packet Page 5 DRESS REHEARSALS AT AIM: Mnday May 12 th Friday May 16 th REGULAR CLASS SCHEDULE DURING THIS WEEK - Dress rehearsals will ccur during regular class time. Attendance during this week is mandatry. Dancers wh d nt attend this week will nt be permitted t perfrm in the Recital. Dancers shuld cme t class wearing their nude letard (bys nude briefs) and their cstumes with required tights and all accessries. Full hair and makeup are nt necessary fr this week. Dancers shuld bring their regular class attire with them t change int fllwing rehearsal and a garment bag r ther prtective cvering t put their cstume int after rehearsing. A significant prtin f class time will be spent rehearsing the recital dance in the cstume. PICTURE DAY SATURDAY, MAY 17 TH at AIM Schedule n fllwing page. 7 Recital 2014: Recital Infrmatin Packet Page 7 TECH/DRESS REHEARSAL AT THE SCOTTISH RITE TEMPLE: THURSDAY, JUNE 5 TH & FRIDAY, JUNE 6 TH Dancers arrive at least 30 minutes befre their first scheduled rehearsal. All dancers except Kids in Mtin students dance in the Finale rehearsal n Thursday frm 5:15pm- 5:45pm. Parents are encuraged t stay t watch the dress rehearsal. Students wh will be at the theater fr lnger perid f time may bring dinner r a snack t eat. Please make sure this meal is light n the tummy and NOT MESSY. During the dress rehearsal, students are required t stay with their Class Mm, but may wait in the dressing rm r sit in the audience and watch the ther classes rehearse. Students will be dismissed after they have finished their practice time n stage fr their class dance. All cstumes and student belngings must be remved frm the dressing rms fllwing rehearsal. 8 Recital 2014: Recital Infrmatin Packet Page 8 RECITAL DAY: SATURDAY JUNE 7 TH 2PM Dancers arrive at the Scttish Rite Temple NO LATER THAN 1PM. All dancers arrive wearing Finale cstume (black pants, AIM Recital T-Shirt) with hair and makeup already dne. Cstumes shuld be transprted in a garment bag r ther prtective cvering. Make sure yur child eats lunch befre arriving. Dancers will nt be permitted t eat during the shw. Dancers stay in the dressing rms during the entire shw. There will be dedicated staff members and vlunteers in the dressing rms t help students change and keep them ccupied. The shw begins at 2pm and will last between 2 and 3 hurs. WHAT TO BRING Items students shuld bring t Scttish Rite Temple: Dancers will be at the theater fr several hurs n Tech Rehearsal day and Recital day. Dancers will be in the dressing rm fr the duratin f the Recital, except during their wn perfrmances. A cver-up t wear ver their cstumes at all times and a twel r blanket t sit n while they are waiting in the dressing rm. Extra hair supplies: hair spray, bbby pins, etc. and make-up fr tuch-ups: lipstick, eye shadw/eye liner, blush, mascara, etc. Students will nt be permitted t share makeup fr hygienic reasns. A bttle f water with student s name. Quiet, clean activities t keep students ccupied, such as clring/reading bks (NO MARKERS), simple bard games (easily cleaned up), cards, ipd, etc. Lst/stlen items are nt the respnsibility f AIM. T keep the dressing rms rganized, we recmmend having yur child s belngings in a tte r large plastic cntainer labeled with the student s name. Cabdles r tackle bxes are great fr hair and makeup supplies. TICKETS Tickets will be sld thrugh tututix.cm, a website specifically fr selling dance recital tickets. We are still wrking n finalizing ticketing details with tututix. Mre details will be released by March 1 st. Each family receives 2 free tickets (3 if there are multiple siblings enrlled) t the shw as part f their Perfrmance Fee. Additinal tickets will be between $15 and $20 (final pricing inf will be released by March 1 st.) Tickets are assigned seating. Page 8
