Pool Hours 10:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. Guest Fees $10.00 Fireworks Display Saturday, July 4th Join us at Dusk on #2 Fairway to watch the spectacular fireworks provided by the City of Maumelle. A bar will be provided for your enjoyment. (Cash or Member Tickets) Only private carts will be allowed on the golf course after dark. All carts must stay on cart path. The Maumelle City Ordinance pertaining to fireworks will be strictly enforced. There will be no discharging of fireworks on the golf course! Saturday, July 4th Decorate your golf cart for the spirit of July 4th. Saturday, July 4, 2015! Chef s Made to Order Breakfast Served in the Mixed Grill and Men s Locker Room 10:30 am Grilled Burgers & Chicken Cookout with all the Fixing's! Served Poolside 11:00 am - 3:00 pm Adults $10.95 / Children $4.95 / Children under 4 FREE 4 th of July Flag Tournament! Players will be given a small flag with their names attached. Using full handicap, players will play until they reach the number of strokes equaling par, plus their handicap. The player who plants their flag farthest around the course will be the winner. Payout will be determined by the number of entries. Men s & Women s divisions will be competing for separate prizes. All players must tee off before 2:00 pm and play will be in your normal weekend group. Entry is $10 / participant. Sign up in the Pro Shop that day! ***SALE*** Take advantage of our 4 th of July Independence Sale! Men s & Women s Apparel, Shoes and Miscellaneous items will be priced to move. We need to make room for our late summer apparel and now is your chance to save.

2 JULY 15 Newsletter Page 2 P R E S I D E N T S M E S S A G E June arrived as a major challenge due to the flooding. The original goal was to have the back 9 re-opened by June 20 th. Once the waters started receding Jason and his crew were able to cut the greens. With the help of members and the Ken Watson Tournament Committee, Jason had the course ready for play on Friday, June 13 th. Jason volunteered to put his vacation and a personal matter aside to make sure the course was ready by June 20 th, luckily which was not necessary. Please take a minute to thank Jason and his crew for their hard work. Fishing is one of the benefits that MCC has to offer its members. While we encourage membership use, golf is still the priority activity. While you may be off the fairway you may not be out of the field of vision, which is a distraction, especially from the fairway. Please be considerate. Happy Hour Tues. Fri 5-7pm 10% Off Drinks The tentative date for this year s general membership meeting is Thursday, October 22nd. Please place this on your calendar. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. We made it through the rainy days and now are in to the sunny days of Summer. I have never seen so many people at the pool as I have in the first month we have been back open. That is so important that we use the club as much as possible. It makes it worth the investment and we love seeing it full. July has normally been one of our more calm months around the club. So many of the members have scheduled vacations, pools of their own, lake houses and friends over to grill out, etc.. But, we never let up. We are always looking for things to do here to keep the membership busy and excited. If anyone has any ideas on events they would like to see here at the club, please come by and visit. I am always open to new ideas of things for all of us to do. Thanks also to all of the members and your patience. It is difficult to remember all of the new names and numbers, but we are trying. Thank you for your patience as we went through our busy tournament and outing season. Nine and Dine We have had great numbers for our Thursday Night Couples golf events. Cary POOL RULES Sign-In All Members using the pool must sign in and register their guests at the lifeguard station. Enforcement The supervision and safety of the pool are will be strictly enforced. The lifeguard s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of all Members. Guests - The guest fee for Fitness Members and MCC Members is $5.00 for each guest brought to the pool. Guests must be accompanied by the Member to gain admittance to the pool. Dress Proper attire in the pool area is essential. Street clothes, cut-offs or boxer shorts are not permitted. 6 JULY 15 Newsletter Page 6 ON THE MCC My name is Keith Montgomery and I am happy to join the Maumelle community as the Teaching Pro at Maumelle County Club. I have been playing tennis tournaments since I was 10 years old. I first became a member of the USTA in 1978 and helped teach junior tennis programs at Balboa Tennis Center in San Diego, CA. I was the Head Teaching pro at Baton Rouge Athletic and Racquet Club for 5 years before moving back to my home of Arkansas in In 1996 I finished the year as the #3 ranked open player in AR., and captained a men s 5.0 tennis team to sectionals in I teach juniors to seniors with an emphasis on stroke production and conditioning/fitness.
