2 NOVEMBER 15 Newsletter Page 2 P R E S I D E N T S M E S S A G E Congratulations to Cary and the Mayor s Cup team on returning the Cup to MCC. CCA always fields strong competition and the majority of the matches were strongly contested. I also want to thank our members for showing your support by attending the tournament. One of the most important committees of MCC is the greens committee. Jason and the committee have many challenges. This past year Allen Talbot has chaired the committee and his working with Jason and the other committee members has been nothing less than stellar. Aside from the day to day issues this year included the flood, the city drainage work on #2 and the 6 th fairway construction. Allen coordinated the #6 construction between Lynn and the MWGA. Most if not all of this was done on his personal time, including weekends. Please join me in thanking Allen for his contributions and excellent work! Last year Ken Newton initiated the Veteran s appreciation dinner for our members that served in our country s armed forces. This year, and hopefully every year going forward, we will continue Ken s Veteran s Day tradition to honor our veterans and Ken Newton. On Wednesday, November 11, MCC will host our Veterans and their spouses or significant others. I encourage all members to attend and show your appreciation. We have a great group of ladies plotting and planning on ways to keep our membership busy from now and into the holidays. Check out your calendar and s for up-to-date info on all of the goings on. We would like to offer our membership again this year, a chance to relax and let us do the cooking for you. If you plan to have something outside of the club, and want us to help, we will be glad to do the cooking for you. If you have a group of around 20 or so, that is a good number for us to help. I will be ing you with a menu of some things that we have offered in the past and some new ideas for this year. Finally, we have so many events here at the club and now days everyone has a camera on them. I NEED PICTURES!! If you have been caught having some good clean fun, or if you have had a wedding, birthday or meeting here and would not mind sharing it with others, please send them to me. We are advertising in new, creative ways and I need recent photos that represent the best of Maumelle Country Club. Especially wedding photos and scenic photos. Lets get the word out that MCC is the best place around to build memories. Thanks to all the great support from the members that came out and cheered on the team to victory. M WG A N E W S Our official MWGA golf season has ended. We will not have any regularly planned play days until next March, however if the weather is nice we can still get together to play and have lunch. We have had a really good season with a big thanks going to our Pro, Cary Maddox, for all his help with our events. Also to our ladies who chaired our tournaments and special days. The next event on our calendar is our Christmas luncheon on December 2 nd. This is always a great event with our group. All MWGA ladies are invited to attend for good food, fellowship and gift exchange. Please be sure to mark this date on your calendar. If you store your cart in the cart shed, we ask that you please close and lock the cart barn door behind you. We do not want to take the chance of vandalism or theft.

All member bills are to be paid to the accounting office by the 15 th of the month. All accounts not paid will be charged a late fee of $20.00 on the 16 th of the month. The late fee will be assessed as in accordance with the Club s bylaws (Article IV, Section 5). Free Steak Dinner Somewhere hidden in the newsletter are four Member s club numbers.
