2 MEDIA COVERAGE Contacting the Sports Communications Office The Georgia State University Women s Basketball Media Guide was produced to aid the media in their coverage of Panthers basketball. Additional information and photographs are available to accredited members of the media through the Georgia State sports communications office. The office telephone numbers are (404) , (404) and (404) while the FAX number is (404) The address for the office is: GSU Sports Arena; 125 Decatur Street, Suite 130; Atlanta, GA Media Credentials If media (or professional scouts) are interested in covering a home game or practice, sports information director Carlton D. White should be notified by telephone, (cdwhite@gsu.edu) or FAX (on affiliate letterhead) at least three days in advance. All credentials for home games will be made available for pickup one hour in advance on game day at Will Call, located at the third floor ticket window in the front of the building, across from the elevator. Prior to one hour before tipoff, credentials may be picked up in the sports communications office. With the exception of game day staff, media parking is available on a limited basis and requests must be made well in advance. Media Services Up-to-date rosters, game notes and statistics, along with game programs and media guides will be made available prior to each home game. A complete NCAA Basketball Boxscore and the play-by-play account of the game can be picked up after the contest in the Sports Communications Office on the first floor of the GSU Sports Arena. Halftime boxscores will be distributed to each media representative during the intermission and flash statistics will be made available to each radio and/or television crew during timeouts. Interviews All interview requests for Georgia State head coach Lea Henry, as well as any of the staff or players, should be made through the Sports communications office. Contact White to arrange an interview. Press Row Media seating at all home games is at courtside on the opposite side of the scorer s table and team benches. Halftime and final statistics will be delivered as quickly as possible to press row. 3 MEDIA COVERAGE On the Radio All Panthers games, both at home and on the road, are broadcast live on 100,000-watt WRAS Radio, 88.5 FM (some contests may be heard on a tape-delay basis if there is a time conflict with a State men s basketball game). Panther Sports Talk with Jason Hanes will air 30 minutes prior to game time and lead into the pregame show, featuring Coach Henry, which will begin 15 minutes prior to tipoff. Henry will again be interviewed right after the conclusion of the contest during the post-game show. Sam Radin is back for a fourth season as Georgia State s play-by-play announcer and will be joined during selected pre-game and halftime spots by analyst Carlton White, the director of sports information for the Panthers basketball program. Panthers play-by-play announcer Sam Radin will gear up for a fourth season on 100,000-watt WRAS Radio in Assisting the radio crew in the studio throughout the season will be Hanes, Gary Lowe, Alex Merlo, Orin Brown, Marvin Myers, Andrew Jarrett, Matthew Simmons, Andy Hawley, Chris Culwell, Joel McCollum, Ed Hula, Ben Bussard and Marvin Evangelista. World Wide Web The official Georgia State athletic department Web site, GeorgiaStateSports.com, was launched in September 2002 and redsigned in September It includes up-to-date results, statistics, notes, photographs, schedules, rosters, biographies and other general information on each and every team at State, as well as basic department and university information.
