2 Northern Rays Ltd. (NRL) is a sanctioned club of the National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC). Its members are dedicated to the preservation and competition of the Chevrolet Corvette. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm: Crazy Pour 105 W. North Ave. Villa Park, IL Membership in NRL is based on an applicant meeting the following requirements: 1. Own a Corvette at the time of Application. 2. Be at least 18 years old. 3. Have attended two meetings/and or club events. 4. Submitted the first year s NRL/NCCC dues in the amount of: $75.00 Single/$ Couple Members will receive the NRL and NCCC membership cards, and an NRL club shirt. The Reporter is published monthly by Northern Rays Limited. The content of this publication is based on source material believed to be accurate at the time of publication. NRL holds no legal responsibility for correctness or completeness of materials submitted for publication. All inquiries concerning the Reporter Should be directed to the Publications Director. 3 From the Office of the President January 2018 I can t believe it is 2018 already. The year went by fast. It seems the older we get the faster the years go by. I did some research and discovered that Sue & I joined Northern Rays in So it is our 10 year anniversary with the club. Looking back it has been a fun time with Northern Rays. We have met many new people and participated in many events. I really enjoy our Corvette family. I am looking forward to a great We have some new committee members and I know they will do a great job. Phil Chappel is our Membership/Public Relations Director. Dan Wagner is our new Governor, Libby Chappel is the new Webmaster and Santo Scafide has joined the ranks of Sargent at Arms. We will be having a committee meeting next week to plan for If you have ideas for a new event or activity you think would be good for our club to participate in, let us know. We value your ideas and opinions. After all the club is about having fun and meeting new people. Also I am looking for new original articles, tech tips, recipes, etc. to put in our newsletter. Let s make 2018 another fun year. I want to wish our members and their families a very Happy and Healthy New Year! Happy Motoring and remember to Save the Wave. 4 Northern Rays Corvette Club General Membership Meeting Date: Tuesday, December 12, 2017 By: Diane Wagner Crazy Pour s Pizza was served at 7:00 p.m. Meeting called to order at 7:35 p.m. President s Report Pat Lopardo Welcome everyone to the last NRL meeting of year! Congrats again to our elected officers for Last week was our Christmas Party at Angelo s in Elmhurst. We had a great turnout and it was a great evening full of fun and laughter. Thank you to Diana, Kim & Ken for all the hard work. November 18 th was our NRL goes Italian, at Tony Spavone s Ristorante. Fun was had by all, and we had a special surprise when Ed and Sue announced their engagement! Congrats to them! Vice President s Report Sue Lopardo I am so happy to see so many ugly sweaters represented here tonight. Let s do a parade and show off our wonderful festive sweaters, and let the voting begin. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for club outings for 2018 please let any of the officers know. We are always looking for new things to do. Treasurer s Report Linda Fairlamb Updated and ed the list of 2018 paid memberships. Competition Report Linda Fairlamb Watch for MW Region and Convention Schedule at Public Relations & Membership Report Dan Maroney Nothing at this time. Governor s Report Vern Fagerberg Jr. Thank you for letting me serve as your Governor. I hope to be back in a couple of years. Please consider going to the Midwest Regional Party this March. This event is a major fund raiser for our region. Sergeant at Arms Report Ed Wodniakowski and Vern Fagerberg Sr. Ed stated that there are no corvettes in the parking lot. Publications Report Pat Lopardo Reporters distributed tonight & on line. 9 January Drink of the Month By: Pat Lopardo A Happy New Year! Take a Champagne Cocktail, forget the sugar, add some ruby port and a bit of orange juice and you have a Happy New Year. Ingredients: 1/4 oz brandy 3/4 oz ruby port 3/4 oz orange juice 4 oz Champagne Preparation: 1. Pour the brandy, port and orange juice into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Pour over champagne Enjoy!
