The first event of the season is a Car Show at Progressive Chevrolet on April 23rd. If you are thinking about going to the Regional Banquet on March 4th, I m sure they won t say no to another reservation. The TTCC 2017 Meeting and Event schedule is included in this newsletter. The June 3rd PC Car Show at Beef O Brady s is our first event of 2017 and we are asking the Membership to save that date and help out. Details about the above events are in this Newsletter. Diane and I will on our South America trip and will not be attending the March 6th Membership Meeting at the Market District in Cuyahoga Falls. Please come and join the rest of the members! Tom Geul Membership Report At the February 6 meeting we had 20 members and one visitor, Jackie Houk, who found us through our website. I invited Jackie and her husband Ed to come to the January Banquet, Ed was unable to come but Jackie enjoyed herself sitting with Carol & Bob Ropollo, Jerry & Annette Waltenberger, and Dutch Schwarze & Bridgitte. We have two more new members, Mike & Kellie Johnston, who also found us through our website. The meeting room is very nice at the Market Place at Giant Eagle at Portage Crossing. We need to remember that we need to make purchases of food and drink that day of $150 to continue to use the room free of charge. There are plenty of food choices, so come early, eat and socialize. 4 Vice President Chuck Heretta After this past weekend, I am getting the urge to start looking for competition events to participate in with our Corvette. You may ask yourself, I want to start enjoying my Corvette also, but I m not quite sure where to look. As I promised last month, I am going to explain where to look and how to use this aide. It used to be that the Regional Competition Directors (RCD for short) published a schedule listing events, which club was sponsoring the events, and if you were lucky, your club newsletter editor put a copy of the flyer in your newsletter. Times have changed with the electronic age. Members can now find for themselves, the events by date, the flyer submitted by the host club, and at the appropriate time, the actual results from the event. Here is how you find all this information for East Ohio events and for events held in various other Regions on any particular weekend. Ready? Go on the internet and type in: - this should bring you to the home page. Next click on the Competition box which will take you to a page that lists various competition areas. You are looking for the Link to the NCCC Competition Events & Points Reporting. To find only East Ohio events for 2017, scroll down to the East Ohio section and click on This will give you the latest schedule of events and if there is a flyer available yet. You are there! On this page, you will be able to view the flyer for the event. Just click on the flyer button, and it will open. Our Editor places all available flyers in our newsletter so you will be able to look at them without having to print them. This page in the NCCC website gives you a planning tool to map out your competition travels throughout the year. If you backup one click, you will see the Link To The NCCC National Schedule. When you click on this link, you are able to view the entire National Competition schedule weekend by weekend. It shows all events on a particular weekend across the Nation. As your Vice President, one of my duties is to keep you informed of what is going in the Competition arena. So saddle up your horsepower under the hood, buckle those belts, and enjoy the ride in America s only true sports car...the Corvette. Next month - a breakdown of the schedules. Thanks for taking the time to read this article. There will not be a test. Chuck Heretta
5 Congratulations to those Club members receiving awards at the EOR banquet. Elaine Heretta 1st Chuck Heretta 2nd Bonnie Smith 9th Frank Smith 12th Worker Awards Diana Bray Connie Clausen Ken Clausen Melanie Hardman Linda Schluneker Bonnie Smith Frank Smith Gary Tubb The East Ohio Region, on September 15, 2017 will be holding a track tour at the NCM (National Corvette Museum) Motorsports Park open only to EOR members. Please note that 40 rooms have been blocked at the hotel listed on the flyer. There is an option to block more rooms if they are available. It is suggested you book early - you have 24 hours to cancel with no charge. There will be no factory tour available as they are shut down when we are down there. You will not need to register for this track tour. You will need to bring your NCCC card as proof that you are a member of the East Ohio Region. Everyone that shows up will get a chance to drive the track. Run groups will be set up based on how fast you want to run. The track tour is based on the NCM rules which you will find on the NCM web site under track tour. Flyer is elsewhere in this newsletter. I will have more to report in next month's newsletter. I will be attending the NCCC meeting on February 24th and the EOR meeting on March 4th. Governor Peg Quine
