2 2016 SUMMER MEETING LOCATION: Lakemore Waterworks Park Sanitarium Rd, Lakemore, Ohio Hot Dogs are provided. Bring food to share, BYOB 6:30 PM Cook out and Conversation 7:30 PM Formal Meeting President s Report Unlike last year at this time when our events were over, we still have 2 scheduled events to complete. Speed Events at Lorain Speedway on August 27th and 28th in partnership with Corvette Cleveland and a Car Show at Serpentini Chevrolet Orrville on September 24th. Both these events have been publicized in our Newsletters and reminder s. I hope you will come out and support Tiretown if you can. Our September Membership meeting is later than normal because of Labor Day. It is Monday night September 12th at Lakemore Waterworks Park. Hope to see you there! It has been a very busy summer and I hope you enjoyed yours. Tom Geul Sunshine Report A get well card was sent to Dick Starts that was signed by all the members present at the last TTCC club meeting in August at Lakemore Waterworks Park. Dick has been in and out of the hospital lately and he is on the road to recovery and feeling much better!! Barb Ruman Car Show Raffle Baskets We are once again doing a Chinese Raffle Basket Auction at the Sepentini Orrville Car Shows on Saturday, September 24. I have a few things put together already, but I m looking for more ideas and donations. If you would like to contribute items or baskets, please let me know. They can be brought to the September 12 Membership Meeting or to the show first thing that morning. You can reach me at if you have questions or ideas. Elaine Heretta
3 MEMBERSHIP MEETING :30PM AT LAKEMORE PARK SECRETARY Motion to accept the minutes of the July 2016 meeting made by Dave Weninger, seconded by Dave Hollingsworth. Minutes approved. TREASURER We purchased a new canopy for the club and one for Alan Moore that was destroyed. Also made contributions to charities from car show proceeds. Salvation Army Hugs program and Tallmadge K-9 Division - $200 each MEMBERSHIP We have 27 members and one guest this evening. Talked to two people that found us through the website. They will try to come to the September meeting. SOCIAL Lunch Bunch will be at Menche s in Shops of Green on Massillon Rd on We took a vote as to where to hold our winter meeting, a restaurant or somewhere we can meet similar to how we do in the park. Vote was a tie. We can use the Kiwanis Civic Center at Portage Lakes for free or make a small donation. Other suggestions are New Era, Giant Eagle (has a room for meetings) Beulers and On Tap. Think about what you would like to do, we will vote again at the September meeting. Asked how many would like to go the Whiskey Ranch (old 356 Bomber Squadron) for evening dinner. ACTING GOVERNOR Region wants to raise head tax to help pay for the Jeanne Kuty Scholarship. Clubs currently pay $2/each member. They would like to raise it to $3. Next Regional Meeting is 9/18. Motion made by Bob Ruman to raise tax, seconded by Barb Ruman. Motion passed. Peg would like help doing results for the speed events. Elaine and Melanie will help. PRESIDENT Still have tickets to NCM. Aaron and Amy will be racing at Mid-Ohio on 8/13 Aaron was given the Past President s Award at the NCCC Convention 50/50 was won by Judy Spada Next Board Meeting is at Peg Quine s on 8/17 Motion to adjourn by Diane Geul, seconded by Connie Clausen Meeting adjourned 8:45PM Bonnie Smith Secretary
4 Vice Presidents Report After our speed events next weekend, we only have one more event, and that is our Car Shows at Serpentini Orrville. We will be meeting with them next week to finalize all the details. In the meantime, please go over the jobs needed and call either Tom or myself to sign up. We really need your help. (Please note, there are a lot fewer jobs needed! Serpentini of Orrville does a lot of the work themselves!) This is always a fun show, so come out and enjoy the day, Saturday, September 24. There has been a change to the EO Region Competition Schedule. Mid-Ohio has moved their Car Show date from 10/1 to 10/8. The location has also changed. A Chili Cook-Off has also been added to the Regional Schedule on October 15. Flyers can be found in this newsletter and on the Regional Website.
