Join your WAKA friends for the Color Run The annual Color Run is going down in Vegas on Feb. 25 at Lake Las Vegas. The only question is, Are you ready for the craziest, colorful 5K of your life? The Color Run is an experience that is less about speed and more about enjoying a color crazy day with your friends and family. For each K of the 5K run, you will be sprayed with a different color, leading to a rainbow of fun at the end. Race rules Rule No. 1: All participants are welcome. Team Motto: Keep Hope Alive Team of the Week (At least when going into the playoffs the past two seasons) What the Captain Says: The best thing about Kickin Ain t Easy is we play hard and we party hard. We have a close-knit group of people and great team chemistry. Shawn B. A little food can go a long way for needy people Hungry does not mean homeless. It may surprise you to learn that everyday, working parents in Southern Nevada face an unthinkable choice between feeding their families and paying bills. Three Square was founded to help people like this to get the food their families need to survive so that they can focus on other things like getting back in their feet. This season, NV Lucky will be collecting canned goods for Three Square. Please bring your canned goods with your team name written on the top of the cans so we can keep track of the team who has donated the most. A prize will be awarded to the team that collects the most canned goods! 4 Predictions Paulie s back on the bench and ready to take your cash I know you have all been wondering what I ve been up to this winter, so here s a Cliff s Notes version: I m starting my yoga class in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to that. Played some liar s dice on New Year s with Benny the Alien and won $1.32 off that cheap bastard. I used the money to start a Teen Mom 2 charity to raise money for Jenelle. Oh, and I listed to a lot of alternative rock on the radio. Anybody notice these bands like Foster the People and The Naked and Famous all sound like an orange juice commercial on Special K? No? That s right folks. I m back on my park bench, whining like your grandfather and taking your money in the process. Speaking of which, as always, you can find me at my park bench if you want action. Kicking and Screaming vs. Kickin Ain t Easy I m not a big fan of Will Ferrell in lead roles. Except for Step Brothers. And Kicking and Screaming. The latter is a highly underrated movie, especially if you have a kid who has ever played youth soccer. Then again, Robert Duvall and Mike Ditka made that movie, so maybe Step Brothers is the only time Will Ferrell hasn t sucked as the star. And don t give me any of that Ron Burgandy crap, people! Kickin Ain t Easy is involved in this game as well, but sorry, they re not as interesting as debating the merits of Will Ferrell. By the Book: Rule of the Week 8. KICKING *9.01 All kicks must be made by foot or leg, below the knee (see Rule 13.02e). Any ball touched by the foot or leg below the knee is a kick. Park Bench Paulie The Line: Kickin Ain t Easy -1 Freezing Our Balls Off vs. All Your Base Are Belong to Us One of these teams is undefeated after a dominating victory in Week 1. The other squad is sitting in middle of the pack after a 0-0 tie to open the season. 0-0? I didn t see the game from my bench, but that must have been like watching fastpitch softball. Bunt single, sacrifice, strike out, grounder to shortstop to end the inning. Yawn. I used to play fastpitch and it is actually really tough. Like Lana Del Rey s lips. By the way, Freezing Our Balls Off is the undefeated side. Better enjoy it, FOBO. The Line: All Your Base Are Belong to Us -4 *9.02 All kicks must occur: a. at or behind home plate. The kicker may step on home plate to kick, however no part of the planted foot may be in front of or cross the front edge of the home plate (see Rule 13.02g). b. within the kicking box (see Rule 1.01g). The kicker must have at least a portion of the plant foot within the Bed, Bath and Your Mom vs. K.I.D.S. Clearly, Bed Bath and Your Mom gets the award for best team name this season. After all, mom jokes never get old. You know what else never gets old? Defense. BBYM leaked 13 runs last week, which tastes like a Thai food verp at 3:15 a.m. Verp - half vomit, half burp. When I think of K.I.D.S., I think of MGMT. And the movie with Rosario Dawson when they give each other HIV. I have no legs... I have no legs... This team has plenty of legs, though. And runs. Take notice, Bed Bath and Your Mom. The Line: K.I.D.S. -3 Kicka Please! vs. Shotgunnerz Allow me to climb onto my soapbox for a moment. I just want to let it be known how offended I am by one of these team names. I mean, in this age of Obama and the guy on ESPN with the funny eye, I can t believe someone would joke this way. Shotgunnerz? Really? Smh. So wrong. How many ducks are killed each year by shotguns? Think of the ducks, people! And the z at the end? That s a middle finger to Park Bench Paulie, like Suck it Paulie, not only am I going to prey on your irrational love of gun control, I m going to mock your hatred for incorrect usage of the letter Z. And the Z is even capitalized on the league schedule! Well played, well played. The Line: Over 10 Season record: 0-0 kicking box during the kick (see Rule 13.02g). The kicker may line up outside of the kicking box Bunting is allowed.as to restrict the kicking motion.
