4 Let s Get Weird captain John B. speaks at Shuck s after his team captured the Summer Season title. News and Notes Meet Melanie Welcome to Fall 2011 kickball! I am Melanie M., your NV Lucky customer service representative. I hope everyone is ready for a great season! Lots of things are in the works this seasons and I hope everyone is ready to participate in the fun. We do have a new bar, the Roadrunner Saloon on Flamingo and 215, since we have outgrown the last one. If anyone has suggestions, input or comments about the season, kickball or the parties, I do encourage you to share them with me! Otherwise, I drink Captain and coke and can be found at the fields and at the bar every week! :) And remember WAKA is a social organization that plays a game for fun. Sometimes calls are made that may not be consistent with competitive sports leagues. This is to ensure the integrity of the social organization and to serve our primary goal of having fun. Overly zealous players and people who feel they must win at all costs and cannot accept our philosophy are encouraged to find another organization to join. You will not be happy here, nor will WAKA put up with crybabies and people who infringe on other people s rights to have fun. Now let s go have some fun! Founder s Cup The World Kickball Championship games will be right here at Desert Breeze Park! You won t want to miss out on fun times and awesome kickball. In the invite-only World Championship Games, NV Lucky s All Your Base Are Belong to Us and NV Silver s Pitches Be Crazy will be participating. In the Kickball Games, Goldmemberz and My Drinking Team has a Kickball Problem will be playing. Congrats to those teams for representing Las Vegas WAKA! Thursday: At 8 p.m. Early Bird Social at Cabo Wabo Cantina at Planet Hollywood. Friday: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. is the Kickball.com Kick-Off Party at the Go Pool at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Saturday: World Championship Games: At 9 a.m. is Round 1 pool play. At 10 a.m. is Round 2 pool play. At 11 a.m. is Round 3 pool play. Starting at 1 p.m. is a single elimination tournament with a round of 32. At 2 p.m. is the round of 16. At 3 p.m. is the quarterfinals. The semifinals are at 4 p.m. and the world championship game will be at 6 p.m. The Kickball Games Saturday: At 11 a.m. is the best team performance near the Party City Tent. Round 1 is at noon. Round 2 is at 1 p.m. Round 3 is at 2 p.m. Round 4 is at 3 p.m. and Round 4B will be at 4 p.m. Superlative Awards Ceremony will be immediately following the semifinals of the World Kickball Championship. Also Saturday: At the Party City Beer Tent will be breakfast at 8 a.m. and beer will start at noon. From 9 p.m. to midnight, WAKA Franchising will present the after party at Carnaval Court at Harrah s. Starting at midnight will be the late-night party at Gallery at Planet Hollywood. There will be a $30 cover. Sunday: From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be a beer pong tournament presented by Bpong.com at Blondie s at Planet Hollywood. At 10 p.m. will be the weekend-ender party at Chateau at Paris Las Vegas. There will be a $30 cover. For more information, visit
