Our playing fields are run by the City so we need to pay close attention to their rules to ensure we will have fields to play on for the season. Pets: Pets are not allowed at the park. Please make plans to keep your pets at home or we will have to ask you and your pet to leave. Beverages: Alcoholic beverage containers are not allowed at the park at any time, this includes the fields & parking lots. No glass containers or bottles of any kind are allowed on the fields. Coolers, Funnels, Kegs and Party Balls or anything that seems fun are not allowed on the fields. You are required to keep all beverages in bubba kegs, thermos bottles, solo cups, or anything that cannot be seen through. Clear colored or see through cups are not allowed, please purchase solid colored solo cups. Anyone in violation of the beverage policy will be asked to leave the premises and may be suspended for the remainder of the season. Please do not be the guy/gal walking in with a case of beer wrapped in a plastic bag or something. That is NOT ok. Other Activities: Due to general safety and liability reasons; no other sports may be played at a WAKA permitted field just prior to or during the games. That means no tossing a football around or kicking a soccer ball etc. Fireworks: Absolutely no fireworks of any kind are allowed on or near our fields. That includes Sparklers, Flame throwers, Molotov Cocktails and anything else you can think of. Trash: All trash must be picked up before you leave the field. Trash cans are available throughout the park. Your CSR will also have trash bags available as well. Rest Rooms: Carver Park has one restroom at the front of the field, use it. Do not use the caveman method and do your business in bushes or even worse in the open. You may get a ticket and we may lose the permit to use the park! Parking: Park only in marked spaces or areas designated by the park. 3 1Kaimotion Returning champs, back in pink and ready to defend their title. Numerous returning players and a few newbies. Should be a strong season but they are beatable, I mean they are wearing pink.. 2 Homeplate Hustlers This gaggle has been hustling during the offseason. Two-a-days, wind sprints, chug training, and dance off drills should have this team ready to Hustle you out of any type of win possible. This team allowed a lot of runs last season. Hopefully their off season antics will have them ready to get over the hump and play some lock down D. 3 the Foot Clan The Clan is back and ready to avenge their surprising early playoff exist last summer. This team has plenty of talent and knows how to use it. Expect a tough game if they are on your schedule. 4 Rubber Busters Busting Rubber never gets old, especially when its on the Kickball field. Hopefully their busting skills will equate to homeruns and wins. Strong presence of veterans witha sprinkle of newbies. Expect a solid season and a deep run in the playoffs in this teams St Johns debut. 5Kickbutkus A WAKA corporate mandated name change has Drunk Pitches back and ready to Kickbutt Hopefully their name holds true and they get the job done. This team has plenty of talent and is excellent at playing small ball. Don t get caught on your heels or they will Kick your butt. power rankings 6 9 Pitches Be Crazy Balls and Dolls These pitches are crazy and if they play Essentially a new team ready to prove the way they have these past couple of seasons, something. Although the name is VERY we may have over ranked them because they intimidating, inexperience may hinder them if only show up for playoffs. This team is known they don t pick up on the game fast. We ll see!! 7 Kick Tease Atlantic League experience combined with Party People, LLC should produce wins both on the field and at the bar. Expect a strong season and a very good playoff showing from KT. They also will be flipping cups and taking names if anyone is interested in challenging them on the table. 8Big Swinging Kicks Well BSK should definitely be Kicking some homeruns this season or at least their name says so, or maybe it means something else.. You be the judge. This new team to St Johns but they aren t new to kickball. They know what they are doing and will beat you if you let them. That is if their captain can get them to show up. 10 Liver Let Die This team also slapped on the hand by WAKA corporate for using bad words in their team name. You can t Booze on 1st!! What were they thinking?! Strong second name choice, this new team name has us thinking we may be playin against a bunch of secret agents who care nothing about their liver. Very good mix of newbies with few veterans may have these agents claiming they ve been double crossed. Don t sleep on them though, maybe they ll produce a good season. 11 Keep Your Pitch on a Leash Best team name yet!! This crew is talking smack before the games begin.we ve also been told by their representatives that if you let your pitches loose, they will be inclined to kick them over the fence so watch out!! That could have been made up but either way, don t let it happen to you. Relatively new team hungry for some wins; let s see how the 12 season unfolds. Ballbusters Somebody has to be last. It s the Ballbusters job to make sure it doesn t stay this way. New team on the block ready to prove everyone wrong. A lot of rookies but we ve been told that they all have a heart of a lion so bring you re a game or you will get beat. *These are opinionated rankings that may or may not match true league Standings. 4 Veteran of the Week Veteran of the Week Amanda Becker of Kick Tease How did you hear about WAKA? One Friday night I was out with a friend and saw a bunch of people at Snappers in WAKA tshirts, playing flip cup, dancing, and having a blast. I turned to my friend and said, let s sign up. How many seasons have you played? What teams? Any championships? This summer will be my 6th season and last summer was my first season, so I guess I ve turned into a kickball junkie. I ve played on Kick in a Box, Joe Schmo Philly Freak Show, Drunk and Looking to Score, Kickers Anonymous, then I captained Recess Renegades last season and am captaining Kick Tease this summer. No championships yet but we re gonna be the Cinderella Team this year just wait. What do you think about your WAKA experience thus far? I LOVE WAKA! I ve made so many new friends and go through kickball withdrawals when there are no seasons going on Who are some of your favorite Athletes? I m a tennis player so Monica Seles, Andre Agassi, and Roger Federer. What did/do you want to be when you grew/grow up? I used to want to be a veterinarian, than I realized I was really bad at science Relationship Status? Single and ready to mingle What are some of your other hobbies besides kickball? Tennis, cycling, triathlons, tailgating for Jags games, singing bad karaoke, dancing like no one s watching If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? After a recent trip to Dubai I would have to say it would be an incredible place to live. Kind of like the South Beach of the Middle East. If you won the Lotto this week, what would you do with all that money? I would give a chunk of it to a charity that is very close to my heart, The MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation. Then I would take the rest, hire a kick-ass coach and trainer and start training for tennis again to see if I could make it on back the pro circuit. What was the last book you read? Are you there Vodka It s me Chelsea by the hilarious Chelsea Handler What has been the most interesting Entertainment news to you within the past 12 months? That the Royal Wedding cost nearly $60 million if I had that much money I would not spend it on a wedding What superpower would you want if you had a choice? The ability to read guy s minds I think

Well I spent all last season in a jealous rage/depression for consciously choosing not to play while all of my friends did, so I guess you could call it word of mouth What do you think about your WAKA experience thus far? Best 3 minutes of my life Who are some of your favorite Athletes? Rehabilitating abused puppies, mentoring underprivileged youth, long walks on the beach, and working on my snuggling form If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Prague, Czech Republic If you won the Lotto this week, what would you do with all that money? I would take the lump sum payout due to the proven principal of time value of money and then invest it soundly in a diverse portfolio of municipal bonds for the government backed fixed income and the tax free interest. Starting with kickball; there will be numerous opportunities to win. So if you can t win on the field, keep your head up cause you might be WINNING by the end of the night. Here s the lineup: Limbo Contest at Iguanas after games June 9th (Week 2) Homerun Derby 2 representatives per team. Will be played prior to games so make sure those interested in participating can be at fields early. More details will be published soon. July 7th (1st and 2nd Rds) July 14th (Semi and Final) Flip Cup Tourney The Golden Flip Cup is on the line. Can field as many as the other team has. July 21st (after 1st tournament Rounds) Don t Forget about the Themes Winning team receives three free pitchers for having the most people themed up!! We also award a King and Queen of Theme for the most outrageously dressed.
