WAIT YES THERE IS! Presented by Ms Erika Myers Our playing fields are run by the City so we need to pay close attention to their rules to ensure we will have fields to play on for the season. Pets: Pets are not allowed at the park. Please make plans to keep your pets at home or we will have to ask you and your pet to leave. Beverages: Alcoholic beverage containers are not allowed at the park at any time, this includes the fields & parking lots. No glass containers or bottles of any kind are allowed on the fields. Coolers, Funnels, Kegs and Party Balls or anything that seems fun are not allowed on the fields. You are required to keep all beverages in bubba kegs, thermos bottles, solo cups, or anything that cannot be seen through. Clear colored or see through cups are not allowed, please purchase solid colored solo cups. Anyone in violation of the beverage policy will be asked to leave the premises and may be suspended for the remainder of the season. Please do not be the guy/gal walking in with a case of beer wrapped in a plastic bag or something. That is NOT ok. Other Activities: Due to general safety and liability reasons; no other sports may be played at a WAKA permitted field just prior to or during the games. That means no tossing a football around or kicking a soccer ball etc. Fireworks: Absolutely no fireworks of any kind are allowed on or near our fields. That includes Sparklers, Flame throwers, Molotov Cocktails and anything else you can think of. Trash: All trash must be picked up before you leave the field. Trash cans are available throughout the park. Your CSR will also have trash bags available as well. Rest Rooms: Wingate Park has restrooms located in the middle of the fields-use them. Do not use the caveman method and do your business in bushes or even worse in the open. You may get a ticket and we may lose the permit to use the park! Parking: Park only in marked spaces or areas designated by the park. Parking on roads, on the curb, or on the sidewalk in unmarked spots may result in a parking ticket.

4 WEEK 1 SCHEDULE

5 POWER RANKINGS OVERHAND DIVISION: 1. Dad Bods and Super Mods- Don t let the dad bods fool you, they know how to play kickball and do it well. This team is pretty stacked, and will be tough to beat, but they say nothing is impossible so don t let that get in your head when you match up against them this season. 2. Bunt Pirates- This crew came up a little short in the finals last season, but they have been doing some practicing and recruiting in the off season and look like they have a squad that is going to be ready for revenge. They have plenty of weapons, but every team has a weakness; find it and you may get your win. 3. Kickzilla: This team had one of their best runs last year so we ll see if some training in the offseason will bring them back to speed and maybe make them even better. They have the talent and knowledge to take some teams by storm. 4. Throwing Shade- Based on the team name, they have some attitude, and I would hate to see the shade they throw if they lose a game. Good thing is, they have the opportunity to win plenty of games and check their tude at the field. They have a strong squad and should not be overlooked. 5. Couplesonly.com- Don t let this super exclusive couples only team fool you with their name. They have couples on the team that combined have probably played more seasons than most of the teams put together. They know what to do, but will they execute? Time will tell 6. Don t Come on my Base- This team is always a silent killer in this league during the regular season, but seem to struggle come playoff time. They have their usually crew with a few new recruits in the mix and we ll see if that s what they need to propel themselves to the top this season. 7. Turn Down For What- This team has a ton (literally) of vets of their team so they know how to play the game, but the question is, will everyone get to play? They have stacked their team so much that it actually might be their downfall. Regardless, TDFW never disappoints and they always end up doing well so watch out for them. 8. De Fuego- This veteran led team has a healthy dose of newbies, but we ve learned over the years that that doesn t necessarily mean anything. We ll see if they can bring the fire each week and get a few wins while they re at it. 9. The Deplorables- This ranking may be a little low for this squad, but that s what happens when you take a season off and we aren t sure if you still have the skills you used to. They say kickball is like riding a bicycle so my guess is that they will pick up where they left off and will have no problem getting some W s. We know one things for sure, their tank game will be strong! 10. Dirty Pitches- Most of this team is not new to the kickball scene, but it looks like they did some recruiting after losing a few of their usual suspects, and that may take them a little time to mesh together. Don t second guess them because they will be coming for ya! 11. Loose Balls- They have plenty of vets of this team, but most are new to the summer heat of this league so it may take a couple weeks for them to find their groove. We ll see if they can band together to produce some wins this season and take some teams by surprise. 12. Money Shots- This crew did great last year and made it to the final four, which was their highest ranking yet in the playoffs. We have them starting kinda low because they have struggled to get some of their big kickers back. Regardless of where they are ranked in here, I m sure they will outshine the rest with their mad theme week skills. Can t wait to see what they come up with this season. 13. Sit on my Base- Some of this team broke away from their old crew and are motivated to show the overhand league what they got. They have some talent, but need to play their strategy and not let frustrations consume them. My guess is that they won t be ranked down here for long. 14. Faces Loaded- Someone has to be ranked last, and for now it s Faces Loaded. This is basically because they are a new team, and we don t have any intel on them. We ll see if this ranking will fuel their fire and prove us wrong and that they should be higher in the ranks. UNDERHAND DIVISION 1. Blacked Out How awkward would it have been if someone beat them to the Black shirts? Purpled Out just doesn t have the same gusto. Hopefully, they come to before their game on Thursday. In what sounds like a logical next problem up for a drunk, Blacked Out takes on We Got the Runs in their Week 1 matchup Kick Mafia Fantastic name but can they match it with a fantastic game? This Dangerous Posse is looking to rule Da Summa. You d think with all the gold in Crunchy Black s mouth, they wouldn t be concerned about winning a golden kickball, but don t tell this team that. They ll be meeting Formerly In Shape Allstars on the kickball diamond to show them Who Run It. 3. Tag Em and Bag Em Before we get started, did anyone else have to do a double-take to realize that wasn t a Tea Bag reference? I guess you can take power rankings out of middle school, but they ll never take the middle school out of the power rankings. Going for the tag is always safer that throwing the ball at a moving target. Can TE&BE get enough outs to keep Chug Norris from kicking the back of their face? 4. Funky Buntlovin Sounds like someone has been spending some time at Trivia nights around Jax. Good news is, Kickball action is back! If this team matches the winning pedigree of the similarly sounding trivia team, we all might be in trouble. Though one has to question the Bunt reference in the no male bunting league. Will they keep their balls off the ground when they square off against YOLO TIME 69? 5. We Got the Runs Pro Kickball Tip #1: Taco Bell is not a great pre-game meal. However, if this team can turn those streaks into win streaks, then Beefy Frito Burritos for everyone! Their week one opponent sounds like the first item on the list of why a Saturday night went bad: Blacked Out. If they can keep the runs on the scoreboard and out of their laundry basket, then Fourth Meals might become a league staple. 6. Formally In Shape Allstars Not 100% sure if they meant Formerly or Formally, though we suppose all will be revealed on Thursday night depending on if they show up looking like a svelte Mr. Peanut or a husky Uncle Rico. There s definitely some athleticism and leg talent on this squad, but will that be enough to lift them over the 3 Kick Mafia? 7. YOLO TIME 69 Did YOLO SWAGGINS AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE BLING not fit in the team name field? Was xxyolo420noscope69xx taken? With a name sounding like it s fresh off a 12-year-old s Xbox Live account, if they match the intensity of the prepubescent kids playing Call of Duty, Funky Buntlovin might be in trouble Thursday! 8. Ballin Out Gotta wonder if this resulted from Straight Ballin and Blacked Out drinking one too many one night back in college. Probably simple coincidence. This squad better go all out when they play Comeback Kicks at 7. Otherwise, there might be executive decisions made regarding a potential name change to Ballin On a Budget. 9. Comeback Kicks The only downside to Comebacks is losing in the first place. This squad is hoping they don t have to rely too heavily on their namesake on their quest for Summertime Kickball glory. Comeback Kicks looks to keep Ballin Out contained this week. 10. Chug Norris The biggest kick this side of the ditch is back! While they spent their off-time brushing up on their kickball game and strengthening their livers, we ve been logging hours of research time finding fresh Chuck Norris jokes. Let s see how they do against Tag Em & Bag Em before we use it. Just like a Total Gym, there s always tomorrow! 11. GrEat Balls of Fire If this team is not sponsored by or endorsing for Fireball, they need a better manager. GBF is looking to blaze a trail to the Golden Kickball this season, but the season is long. Can they avoid burning out before then? JB Boozter club will be looking to prevent them from getting off to a hot start. 12. Straight Ballin The OG It s You can do whatever type of Ballin you want to! America s all about freedom. Can this OG squad fend off all these young punks and ball their way to the ship? We ll find out of if they re more NWA or Dynamite Hack when they face off with Crustacean Nation. 13. JB Boozter Club Who doesn t need a Boozt every now and then? The winter league did not go how they wanted, so they are back and looking for redemption. The first team to find out if Summer is the official season of JB Boozter Club is Great Balls of Fire. 14. G.O.A.T.s You can t pluralize G.O.A.T.! It s like Highlander; there can be only one. But hey, we ll make a deal with you guys. If you prove us wrong and hoist all 24k of fake gold painted rubber at the end of the season, we ll let you be whatever barnyard animal you want. (We d be ducks.) First step to getting there is beating Pitches Be Crazy at 8! 15. Jumbo Shrimp Crustacean Nation is back! Everyone s favorite oxymorons are gracing the kickball diamond for another season. It warms our ball-kicking hearts that their Thirsty Thursdays will be spent with us instead of the bat swinging namesakes downtown. They begin their Summer journey against The OG. 16. Pitches Be Crazy PREACH! Luckily for them and everyone with a UH beside their team name, you re in the Underhand pitching only league, so the pitches should be more vanilla than missionary Mondays. They matchup with G.O.A.T.s this week and are looking to come out greater to avoid a baaa-aa-ad start. (Sorry we had to.)

7 SPOTLIGHTS Rookie of the week Anneliese Monje- Great Balls of Fire How did you hear about WAKA? I used to play in south Florida, long time ago. What do you think about your WAKA experience thus far? I love it! My experience before was so much fun that I was hoping Jacksonville would have a fun league as well. Are you a native to Jacksonville? If not, what brings you to town? I am not from Jacksonville, I am originally from Bolivia, but I lived in Mexico and then Stuart, Florida for many years. I moved here to be closer to family. What did/do you want to be when you grew/grow up? I wanted to travel the world! I did quite a bit of that and now I am a researcher for the University of Michigan. What are some of your other hobbies besides kickball? Running and crossfit. I ve done 6 races so far this year and one GoRuck. I am addicted to being sore all day long. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Australia or Brazil What s your favorite local place? Surfer Bar If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? A dolphin, so I can swim all day and live in the most beautiful and exotic places. Fill in the blank, On a typical Saturday you can find me at the beach, running a race or hanging out with my family. What has been the most interesting entertainment news to you in the past 12 months? That the Cash me ousside, howbow dah girl is a millionaire now and was nominated to most trending by MTV. I would say more than interesting, shocking! What s one thing on your bucket list? Sky diving!! Ive been wanting to do it forever What s the last picture you took on your phone? Selfie on Sunday drinking a mimosa lol

8 SPOTLIGHTS VETERAN of the week Michael O Farrell- Formerly In Shape Allstars How long have you been playing WAKA? 4 ½ Years What s your favorite memory from your kickball experience? Having a 9 am playoff game and myself and 2 of our other players showing up at 10 am because we didn t wake up in time, due to partying to hard the night before. Are you a native to Jacksonville? If not, what brings you to town? I am not a native but moved here when I was 10 because my parents got a new job down here. What is your favorite pre or post game activity? The question has my answer. Pre-gaming or Post-gaming. What did/do you want to be when you grew/grow up? I wanted to be a professional athlete. Specifically a soccer player. Unfortunately, I didn t quite make it. What are some of your other hobbies besides kickball? Playing soccer, working out, reading, cooking, skiing What s your favorite position?...on the kickball field of course. For the overhand leagues it is first base. This will be my 1st underhand league so I don t know what position I ll enjoy most, possibly center field. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? I would live in Vail, Colorado. What s your favorite local spot? Angie s. Best subs in town If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? I would be a Giant Squid. They are the top of the food chain and no one messes with them. Fill in the blank, On a typical Saturday you can find me.
