2 Hey Kickballers! We here at WAKA are still celebrating the birth of our country so enjoy the patriotism of this week s GMOT. We hope you had a great holiday weekend away from kickball, but are ready to get back into it with this week s Shake up the Standings schedule. There will be some great rematches on the field (and on the flip cup table). Get excited! 3 Ballinators (2) vs. Pitches and Throws (4) P&T- A short-handed P&T squad got on top early with 3 runs in the first inning - and would add 1 more later in the game. A solid defensive effort held the Ballinators in check until 2 runs in the 6th inning put a scare into P&T. This week's MVP goes to Jenny Kabisch for an awesome double play at second base. This week we are ready to take on PP - our week 1 rivals - with a few more notches of experience under our belt... Suns Out Guns Out (0) vs. Springfield Hoodies (1) Representatives could not be reached for comment Kickin it Old School (3) vs. Pitch Please (15) Kickin it Old School KIOS continues to improve even though Friday's score didn't really reflect that. KIOS started out good with a run in the first inning. Things went downhill from there though with Pitch Please running the field and scoring at every opportunity. KIOS is still finding what works best for their team in the field and expect to have a victory by the end of the season. KIOS ended the game on a high note with 2 runs in the last inning. They wnet to River City to continue their bar domination and to collect their 3 free pitchers of beer for having the most team members dressed up for the Hillbilly Hoedown theme. This team may be yet be champions on the field but they are having a great time and continue to be champions at the bar and on the dancefloor! Hey, they gotta be winners at something, right?! Pitch Please We came out mad! We were just livid about our previous week s performance and resulting loss. We did a couple things to get over it. Drank heavily (Included Jell-O Shots and lots of Water ), and we took our anger out on the ball and subsequently KIOS on the field, drilling every ball we could as far as we could. Fortunately this resulted in lots of runs and a win so we are happy, but not content. We won t be content until the season is over and we are the champs. Hopefully that happens. Shout out to our girls that dressed for the them (Anett, Brenda, Keziah, and Yashira), looking good ladies, maybe we can convince some of the guys to dress up next time and get a Theme win. 4 *These are opinionated rankings that may or may not match true league standings. Please be assured that these rankings and comments are not personal, all in fun, and intended to increase your overall Kickball experience. Please see website ( for actual league standings. After last week s epic adventure the Hoodies decided to have the defense steal the show this week for the battle between the 1 & 2 seeds. Lock down D played on both ends, but the Hoodies were able to get a run across and secure the win. This big win for the Hoodies vaulted them to 1 st. Hope they are ready for the rematch coming soon! After taking down the surging Pitch Please in an 8-5 offensive slug fest, SOGO showed up to play the Hoodies but left their Guns at home. Defense was solid, and although SOGO looked great, they could not get anything going on offense. They did have heavy representation for the Hilly Billy Ho Down theme; costumes were by far the best out there- they just didn t have the numbers to take the prize home. Missing teeth claimed the Theme Queen prize for Brittany Williams-way to separate yourself from the rest. SOGO will be looking for revenge in this week s shake it up match up against the Hoodies. They better watch out b/c this time their bringing the guns. Coming off last week s heartbreaker, Pitch Please came out looking for blood and blood they got. A 15-3 blasting of KIOS may have this team s spirits up and ready for the shake it up week. Rumor has it that electrolyte filled jell-o shots provided by GeorMajesty had this team amped and ready to handle the business. Look for Pitch Please to build on this win, pile a couple more on, and get a solid playoff seed. Big win against the up and coming Ballinator team. P & T was able to get the job done missing their team leader Gregarious Kickball Mourning. Great team D, heads up base running, and well placed kicks sailed this team past the Kickballers in pink. This win set them up for a rematch against Pitch Please in the Shake it up week. Will P&T pull the upset and take Pitch Please down? Tough loss against the Purple People Eaters aka Pitches and Throws. The Nators are looking good, but just didn t get any breaks in this one and came out on the losing end. This team did have a winner amongst them as Steve West took home the Theme King award for week 3. Has everyone seen his photo? Please refer to page 8. It s awesome. Look for the Ballinators to Ballinate in the weeks to come. After all, that is their team name. They did not win at kickball this week but they continue to win at the bar. Although they didn t have the numbers on the run board to produce a kball win, they did have the numbers to earn themselves 3 pitchers for being the Theme team of the week. Don t sleep on KIOS as they scored in the 1 st inning and put up a couple runs so they are definitely getting the hang of things. Look for KIOS to get a win or two before season end and surprise someone in the playoffs. Don t let it be you!

7 Pitch Please and CSR How did you hear about WAKA? I was at a Wig party and Katie Lindahl told Moser, Brad and I they needed dudes for a co-ed kickball team. We were already playing Jax Scene kickball and decided to take it to the next level. How many seasons have you played? What teams? Any championships? I don t know exactly and refuse to do research to figure it out. I would say probably around 9 or 10. Won championships with Surrender the Booty (Atlantic), Scoregasm -2 (Stingray), and Duval Stunnas (St Johns prior it being the beaches league). I have numerous 2 nd place finishes as well, more than I d like to mention as they depress me. What do you think about your WAKA experience thus far? It changes lives. No seriously you get out of it what you put in. Obviously I put in a lot. I have meet sooo many new people with WAKA, all young professionals. It is the best networking system in America. Who are some of your favorite Athletes? I like watching good players do work. If I had to pick a favorite besides myself it would be Michael Jordan I guess. What did/do you want to be when you grew/grow up? I wanted to be in the NBA, I also wanted to be a Lawyer. Gave up on the NBA thing when I stopped growing at 5 9. Gave up on the Lawyer thing when I realized how much more school it would be, cost involved and the fact they make you take another Test after you graduate which if you don t pass everything you ve worked for means nothing. I decided to just get a business degree and cross my fingers. Relationship Status? Taken. Sorry ladies, I know this hurts. What are some of your other hobbies besides kickball? Basketball, video games when I have time (never), flag football, chess, dancing. I d like to do more wakeboarding, traveling, and wouldn t mind taking some classes on choreographed dances but that ll never happen. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? I guess somewhere in Europe, I don t know. Never really thought about that. Obviously it would need to be somewhere beautiful. If you won the Lotto this week, what would you do with all that money? Pay off my debt and all my families debt; invest, save a good portion and Party hard. What was the last book you read? If I did it by OJ Simpson Just kidding, I don t read much. What has been the most interesting Entertainment news to you within the past 12 months? Planking. And the fact that someone died doing it. Unbelievable. What superpower would you want if you had a choice? A combined power of teleportation and invisibility. Possibilites would be endless with these powers
