Charity Kickball Tournament - Open to public as well as current WAKA players Comedian & social gathering to follow kickball games Tickets will be sold for: - tournament and comedian - just tournament or - just comedian So, there s something for everyone! 4 Week 4 Game Recaps: It's Hard To Beat OFF CONSTANTLY, Especially With Wet Balls Three run underdog and short handed Off Constantly improved to 4-1 on the season with a 5-0 victory over Show Me Your Kicks on a damp night at Pickle Park. Captain Tim Lawson s inferior paper, scissors, rock skills put OC on the visitors side again. He s terrible. I ve got a strategy, but it s just not working out, he said. It seems like every time I throw rock, the other team throws paper. Then if I throw scissors, they re throwing rock. It sucks. That was about the only thing that went wrong for the gang in gray. OC got out to a 2-0 lead with nobody out in the first and never looked back. Wet balls are hard to handle and OC took full advantage as all five runs were the result of aggressive base running. Pitcher Todd Frostdick was throwing stones with a stellar OC D behind him as he secured his first career shutout. SMYK loaded the bases twice, including the bottom of the 5 th with nobody out. OC escaped that jam A B C with the first double play in the history of WAKA according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Rookie Kerri White was voted co-game MVP by her teammates for a couple of tremendous snatches at 2 nd base. After the game Ms. White said who the hell ordered Jager shots? submitted by your mother! SMYK falls to Off Constantly in Week 4 but is still represents at 51 Wharf St! D F

5 Game Recaps Continued... Conditions too dry for Balltastic to conquer VD It was a bright sunny day and the Balltastic Voyage were ready for some kickball due to the pristine conditions, and were excited to play against the defending champions. The game started out with VD getting some early runs with Balltastic making some throwing errors due to the ball being too dry and sticking to their hands. The Balltastic rebounded by scoring some runs of their own, but were limited due to tripping on the dry ground a few times. It continued to get worse for the Balltastic Voyage as they were unable to make the necessary plays against the veteran VD due to everyone becoming dehydrated. The final score ended up being Hopefully this week it will be a little cooler and more moist for the Balltastic's double header in week 5. Vicious & Delicious Without Any Dead Weight, they win again. Week 4 WGTR is defeated. NDW was looking for a comfortable win in week 4 after a nail biter the previous week. Captain Shane set the tone by throwing paper to win the rock paper scissors in round 1. enjoying their VIP Booth! Bases Loaded Over That s What She Said 3-2 After a hard fought battle against VD last week, Bases loaded were ready to show they were for real. Only it didn t start off how they pictured. That s What She Said jumped out to a quick 1-0 start. Startled that they were quickly down a run, Cindy Richards of BL thought it was a great idea to bring out Doctor Mac (and I am not talking about your friendly and handsome Portland Chiropractor Neurologist) Unfortunately the shot of soothing menthol didn t quite get the team "Loaded" right away and TWSS held the 1-0 lead going into the 4th inning. After some crafty and nimble base running by Jared "Which Way is he going" Chute that led to his departure at second base. BL where able to get the next 2 Kickers on base giving Josh Olivera (Down Katie Gruz down) a chance to give his team the lead, and boy did he ever. He unleashed a beautiful kick that went over the outfielder s heads and then ran the bases as if he stole something. With everyone safely crossing home BL took command 3-1. However, TWSS continue to scare BL with another run in the 5th, but with solid Defense Bases loaded were able to hold on for the Victory. NDW looked like they'd keep that momentum by loading the bases with no outs but We've Got The Runs turned a triple play on a deep fly to left center to escape with only 1 run. WGTR then put a run across the plate in the bottom of the 1st with some good base running on some less than stellar D from NDW. Shortly after the second inning began, the rain started falling and with the rain came runs for NDW. Paced by consistent bunting and kicking and some aggressive (or reckless) base running, NDW managed to rack up 8 runs and lock down the D the rest of the way to cruise to an 8-1 win over the one of the several blue teams in the league.

6 Even More Game Recaps That s What She Said hitting stride in wet week 4 Confidence soaring high with the 0-3 record we were rocking, That s What She Said took the Kickball field half tanked and ready put our first win up on the board. Yah, so, ummm.that didn t happen. It was close (if that counts)! It was a slick night as the rain started coming down in the middle of our game. We blame the rain. Milli Vanilli did why can t we? Ultimately we lost 3-2 but it was a confidence builder. I mean, at least we scored, right? We started the night off strong with a 1-0 lead going through the first 3 innings. Aided with a generous out at second base from the other team we thought we were on our way to closing out the inning and locking this one down. That is, until the Bases are Loaded decided to use performance enhancing drugs and rock a 3-run homer over our left fielders! It was a bomb and there was nothing we could do about it. Now, down 3-1 we put up a short rally and put one run back on the board in the 5th. 3-2.That s What She Says loses again. Fresh off the loss, we wouldn t allow the pouring rain and misery of defeat get us down completely. With some of us reffing, our girls crowded around each other like middle schoolers giggling at a high school football game and the beer continued be consumed to set the stage for an evening of drinking and flip-cup glory at 51 Wharf. Are we good at Kickball? Maybe not so much. At least, not yet. Are we good at flip cup? You bet your ass! We held our own at 51 Wharf and are ready to continue to take on any challengers. Next week, confidence soaring high off our few victories in flip-cup, and our awesome 0-4 record, we plan to take the field once again and show what we re made of. I mean, we can t lose all of them. Can we? Guard Dogs took on Bases Loaded, ready to compete. The rain, once again, made play tricky. John's pitching was stellar, as was Joel's keeping control of things behind the plate. Missing Pete, Bobby, and Alicia made the rest of the Dogs really step up and give their best, but Bases Loaded's tough offense and aggressive base-running proved too much for the Dogs to contain. Rebecca came out tough at the plate and got on base; one of the few Dogs to reach. Attendance at 51 Wharf was spotty due to the persistent rain making everyone head home to dry off and warm up for the night. The Dogs look forward to playing No Dead Weight this week. Win or lose, we expect to go out and have a blast!

10 Morin s Magic 8 Ball Guard Dogs Vs. NDW- Outlook not so good for Guard Dogs Guard Dogs will def have their paws full going up against a loaded NDW team. NDW features a dangerous offense and a good defense. Guard dogs have a couple of bright spots on their team but Unless NDW plays with one arm and hopping on one foot the whole game I can t really picture this game being too close. NDW 15-0 SMYK Vs. Buzzed Again- As I see it, SMYK will win. Coming off playing back to back weeks against two of toughest teams in the league SMYK is going to look to get back on track against Buzzed Again. However, Buzzed Again is starting to come around after a slow start to the season and could give SMYK a run for their money. SMYK will have to put the last two games behind them in order to get back to where they need to be. SMYK 7-3 Shot Gun Bang Vs. Balltastic- Reply Hazy- Try Again. Balltastic is somewhat of a mystery team to me. I haven t had a chance to see them play yet this year but I ve heard they are pretty solid all around. Shot Gun Bang has the potential to make this game close but I think Balltastic will be too much for them. Balltastic 9-1 We ve Got the Runs Vs. VD- Signs point to a VD Victory. We ve Got the Runs has some major upside if they can just pull together. Going up against VD the defending champs will be tough. Coming off a very convincing win against Balltastic last week, they are looking to duplicate the same results this week. They have a strong Defense but sometimes struggle to put runs across the board. I think VD will have another offensive explosion. VD 9-4 That s What She Said Vs. Off Constantly- It is decidedly so, OC wins. That s What she Said played a strong game last week against Bases Loaded. I see them continuing there improvement but Off Constantly have been on a tear since there Week 1 Loss to NDW. Off Constantly will just be too much for That s What She Said in this game. Off Constantly 10-1 Balltastic Vs. Bases Loaded- Maybe. Bases Loaded will beat Balltastic. This should be a very good game against two solid teams. Bases Loaded are a solid defensive team with solid pitching if they can get the offense going early, it will be tough for Balltastic to beat them. Bases Loaded 6-3. GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS THIS WEEK!
