Presented by Ms Erika Abraham GMOT STAFF Our playing fields are run by the First Coast Soccer Association so we need to pay close attention to their rules to ensure we will have fields to play on for the season. WAKA St Johns Division Customer Service Rep: Erika Abraham Pets: Pets are not allowed at the park. Please make plans to keep your pets at home or we will have to ask you and your pet to leave. GMOT Designer: Kate Grodesky CONTENTS SERIOUS PAGE You are here FIELD LAYOUT 3 WEEK 7 SCHEDULE 4 WEEK 6 RESULTS 5 Beverages: Alcoholic beverage containers are not allowed at the park at any time, this includes the fields & parking lots. No glass containers or bottles of any kind are allowed on the fields. Coolers, Funnels, Kegs and Party Balls or anything that seems fun are not allowed on the fields. You are required to keep all beverages in bubba kegs, thermos bottles, solo cups, or anything that cannot be seen through. Clear colored or see through cups are not allowed, please purchase solid colored solo cups. Anyone in violation of the beverage policy will be asked to leave the premises and may be suspended for the remainder of the sea son. Please do not be the guy/gal walking in with a case of beer wrapped in a plastic bag or something. That is NOT ok. Other Activities: Due to general safety and liability reasons; no other sports may be played at a WAKA permitted field just prior to or during the games. That means no tossing a football around or kicking a soccer ball etc. POWER RANKINGS 6 Fireworks: Absolutely no fireworks of any kind are allowed on or near our fields. That includes Sparklers, Flame throwers, Molotov Cocktails and anything else you can think of. SPOTLIGHTS Rookie of the Week Vet of the Week 7 8 Trash: All trash must be picked up before you leave the field. Trash cans are available throughout the park. Your CSR will also have trash bags available as well. WEEK 6 HIGHLIGHTS 9 AFTER PARTY/END OF SEASON INFO 10 Rest Rooms: Wingate Park has restrooms located in the middle of the fields-use them. Do not use the caveman method and do your business in bushes or even worse in the open. You may get a ticket and we may lose the permit to use the park! Parking: Park only in marked spaces or areas designated by the park. Parking on roads, on the curb, or on the sidewalk in unmarked spots may result in a parking ticket.

6 POWER RANKINGS 1. Kai No Motion- They put the hurt on the Pimps last week and proved that they are not a team to mess with. They are still the only undefeated team in the league, but they play the #2 team this week so maybe that will change. Time will tell! 2. Slow Yer Roll- Well, this team has been rebuilding itself every season, and it looks like they have the players to make a run in the playoffs. They are having a great season, but they face off against Kai No Motion this week. It s going to be tough! 3. Fire Balls Deep- They had a little scare at first as BushWakas started out strong, but Fire Balls Deep has proven that they will not let a few runs get them down. They were able to pull out a 4-2 win and are sitting pretty at #3. 4. Pitch Don t Kill My Vibe- PDKMV came out swinging (literally) last week against Popped a BALLy and were able to get an 11-1 win. They really need to keep it up this week as they play Kick Tease who has also been playing well. 5. The North Ponte Vedrans- Yikes! Not sure what happened this past week, and we bet that the Ponte Vedrans don t want to talk about it. All you can do is learn from it and move on to the next game. We ll see if they are able to get back on track this week against FBRR. 6. AlcoBALLics- They hosted a shutout and proved that you can beat Off Constantly. This team has definitely showed the league that they are not to be messed with and have a good chance of getting a fifth win before playoffs. We like where they are headed! 7. Filthy Bunts- Lost a heartbreaker against Huge Throbbing Kicks, but if I know this team they will bounce right back and take it out on their next opponent. This week they play Your Mother who seriously needs a win they better watch out! 8. Palm Valley Pimps- Rough night for PVP last week as they just couldn t hang on against the Motion. This week they play Booze on First who has been steadily climbing the ranks and are looking for a big win. The Pimps better keep their game tight! 9. Kick Tease- There certainly was no teasing this week as this team sailed to a 11-0 win over FBRR. It looks like Kick Tease is back to the team we know they can be, but they will have to step their game up and keep the offense going if they want to beat PDKMV. It s going to be a good one! 10. Booze on First- Booze on first definitely had enough of that on first, second, third, home plate and their side lines as they were feeling good and playing some good kickball as well. They play PVP this week and they are going to need to play to perfection as the Pimps don t let much get past them. 11. Off Constantly- Well, they were in a winning streak, but unfortunately it was snapped this past week with a 6-0 loss to the AlcoBALLics. Off Constantly plays the BushWakas this week who may not have the best schedule, but should definitely not be taken lightly (just some friendly advice). 12. Pitches Be Crazy- Where did this team come from? They have definitely stepped it up and got a strategy that is really working for them. They must be excited because I have definitely seen more of them show up to the bar in recent weeks. It looks like they are going to be on a high going into playoffs.we all may need to be worried! 13. Huge Throbbing Kicks- Pulled out a close won against Filthy Bunts, and they sure needed a pick me up after losing a couple games in a row. This week they play Popped a BALLy which should be a pretty equal game. We will see who comes out on top. 14. Your Bunt Is Showing- Close game against Haters Gonna Hate, and we think it s time for YBIS to step their game up as we head into playoffs. They play the WASIANS this week who are desperately seeking a win don t let it be you! 15. Sit on my Base- We are glad that SOMB won another game because we believe they have a lot of potential. This week they have a chance to improve their playoff seed with a win over HGH. They need to be ready because they are seriously needing a win and think they can get it against SOMB. 16. Popped A BALLy I m Sweatin Woo!- We expected it to be a little closer last week against PDKMV, but they proved to be just too much for Popped a BALLy. They were losing some of their players, which may have had a little to do with it, but they need to bring their A game if they want to get a good seed going into playoffs. 17. BushWakas- They started out with some great offense and it looked very promising, however, Fire Balls Deep was just too much and BushWakas couldn t hang on. They did look pretty awesome in their superhero costumes and shout out to their captain for earning himself a free drink! 18. Kicking Your Grass- KYG has one more game to move up in the standings and they need to really bring it against the AlcoBALLics. We are glad to see that they were back in action at the bar last week and dominating the flip cup table. Hopefully those skills translate to some good kickball this week. 19. Fillin Bubbas, Rippin Rubbas- Okay, we can admit that FBRR has had a pretty tough schedule for a semi-new team, but we do expect them to at least score a few each game. This week they play the North Ponte Vedrans who lost last week. It could be a good time to get another win before playoffs! 20. Wasians- The Wasians head into the last regular season game with a disappointing 1-5 record. They have one more game to improve their seed going into playoffs and we are sure they want to get that final win. They have a good chance this week and we have faith in them! 21. Haters Gonna Hate- We are impressed that HGH scored 7 runs, but we are not impressed that they allowed 8 get scored against them. We know that this team is better than that and believe that they can win their last game if they can keep the defense down. 22. Your Mother- We thought Your Mother was better than a 1-5 season, but miracles happen and anything goes when it comes to the end of the season. They have won more game to improve their schedule so let s see if they can do it. 23. Schweddy Ballz- Another tough loss for the Schweddy Ballz, but their morale is still high. It looks to me that they have been having fun all season, and that s what it s really about anyways. We hope they can turn it around for the last game and get a win! 24. KickBalls of Fire- You would never know that this team has yet to win a kickball game this season. They are always in theme and their superhero costumes were probably some of the best we have ever seen. We hope they surprise us with something for the last game since they are the Mike s Hard Lemonade team, and we hope they share their drinks with us!

7 SPOTLIGHTS Rookie of the week ASHLEIGH FOSTER Sit On My Base How did you hear about WAKA? From KurtH Stein! What do you think about your WAKA experience thus far? It has been so much fun! I didn t realize I had such a natural talent for kickball! Are you a native to Jacksonville? If not, what brings you to town? No, I moved here to go to UNF and graduated with my Bachelors in Biology. Relationship Status? Boyfriend #JakeLacasse What is your favorite pre or post game activity? Fireball/Fireball What did/do you want to be when you grew/grow up? Tooth fairy (Dentist) What are some of your other hobbies besides kickball? I run the Mellow Mushroom 5K every Tuesday! If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Australia What s your favorite local spot to grab a drink? The Pier (love Split tones) Fill in the blank, On a typical Saturday you can find me. At Jax beach 13 th South What has been the most interesting entertainment news to you in the past 12 months? Kim Kardashian and Kanye West naming their baby North West! What is your drink/shot of choice? Drink: Vodka water with two limes/ Shot: Fireball What s the one thing you have to do/see before you die? Go into an airport and buy tickets for a random flight.

8 SPOTLIGHTS VETERAN of the week KEVIN GORDON KAI NO MOTION How did you hear about WAKA? My brother, Phil, has been playing since I was 18 years old, so I was always out at the fields watching from the sidelines. As soon as I turned 21, I tried out for Cobra Kai. It took a few weeks to get a call back, but eventually, Kellen Miller, Manager/Pitcher/future best friend, told me I had what it took to be a champion. What do you think about your WAKA experience thus far? Any championships? Incredible, exhausting, hilarious, sad, fun, exciting, boring, unbelievable!! Waka is pretty much synonymous to life. Such an emotional rollercoaster. No matter what (Thurs)day it is, you never know what is gonna happen. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. Cobra Kai: 7 Championships KaiMotion: 3 Championships KaiNoMotion: TBD Are you a native to Jacksonville? If not, what brings you to town? Lived at the beach since I was 3. Went away for college, and came right back. I don t get homesick, but I would definitely consider myself a family man. Relationship Status? Check my Facebook What is your favorite pre or post game activity? Pre: Stretching. Post: Nippers What did/do you want to be when you grew/grow up? Professional hype man for sure. No reason for Lil Jon to get all of the glory. What are some of your other hobbies besides kickball? Soccer, Softball, and recreational Sunday Volleyball. Other than playground sports, traveling for music, and hanging with friends and fam. What s your favorite position?...on the kickball field of course. 3rd base, but whatever position Kellen wants. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Honestly no idea. Maybe New Zealand. I d be down to live any place that you can achieve a healthy work-life balance. Miami is pretty legit too, but I think I could only do Friday - Sunday. What s your favorite local spot to grab a drink? Green Room Brewery. So many activities to accommodate ADHD. That Kate and William had a baby, but so did my sister What s your favorite thing about kickball nights? Getting together with old friends and connecting with new. It is amazing how kickball allows two people from different cultures, different backgrounds, and different athletic abilities to stand as one on common ground. Kickball is not prejudice against any particular religion. Kickball does not make political remarks. Kickball is my friend. Kickball is everything.
