2 STUFF TO KNOW GMOT STAFF WAKA Stingray Division Customer Service Rep: Corey MF Myers THE RULES Our playing fields are run by the City so we need to pay close attention to their rules to ensure we will have fields to play on for the season. Pets: Pets are not allowed at the park. Please make plans to keep your pets at home or we will have to ask you and your pet to leave. Beverages: Alcoholic beverage containers are not allowed at the park at any time, this includes the fields & parking lots. No glass containers or bottles of any kind are allowed on the fields. Coolers, Funnels, Kegs and Party Balls or anything that seems fun are not allowed on the fields. You are required to keep all beverages in bubba kegs, thermos bottles, solo cups, or anything that cannot be seen through. Clear colored or see through cups are not allowed, please purchase solid colored solo cups. Anyone in violation of the beverage policy will be asked to leave the premises and may be suspended for the remainder of the season. Please do not be the guy/gal walking in with a case of beer wrapped in a plastic bag or something. That is NOT ok. Other Activities: Due to general safety and liability reasons; no other sports may be played at a WAKA permitted field just prior to or during the games. That includes Sparklers, Flame throwers, Molotov Cocktails and anything else you can think of. Trash: All trash must be picked up before you leave the field. Trash cans are available throughout the park. Rest Rooms: Patton Park has two restrooms at the front of the field, use them. Do not use the caveman method and do your business in bushes or even worse in the open. You may get a ticket and we may lose the permit to use the park! Parking: Park only in marked spaces or areas designated by the park. Parking on roads, on the curb, or on the sidewalk in unmarked spots may result in a parking ticket. 6 POWER RANKINGS 1. Violently Masterbunting They improved to 2-0 and hosted their first shut out party of the season. They did it against a very good Kick Tease squad and they seem to have what it takes to have a great season. They ve got another tough game this week against the Clan, let s see if they can stay on top. 2. Dream Crushers They ve crushed two teams Dreams thus far and they are very excited to crush another this week. They ve got a fire hot Fire Ballz deep who is also currently undefeated. They may need to bring a cooler of ice if they plan to cool them down. 3. Fireballz Deep Another game, another win. FBD is currently handling the business and we know they want to continue to win. They got an undefeated Dream Crusher team this week and we know they d love to Crush their Dreams by kicking those ballz deep and cruising to a win. 4. Foot Clan Although very shorthanded they fought hard and kept things very close in a game they ended up losing against the Dream Crushers. Don t let this loss fool you, they are a very good squad but for some reason they like to save their best playing for playoffs. 5. Jelly Time They are a new squad but they are getting the job done and producing wins at will. They were down early in this one and came back and cruised to victory. This is one of those teams you ve gotta watch out for, they will beat you. You ve been warned. 6. Kick Tease They are currently 0-2 and they need to right the ship soon before it is too late. They ve got a hungry Kickheads this week who need a win desperately as well. Should be a very good game and they ll need to pull out all the stops to get their first win of the season. 7. Friends without Benefits Even while shorthanded they were able to pull out a tie against a very good Wasted Talent squad. They are off to a very good start and we are excited to see what they can do this season. Time will tell! 8. WAKA WAKA WAKA They came out and produced their first win and did so in a blow out game. WAKA WAKA WAKA has started out the season very well producing a win and a tie, lets see if they can continue their hot streak with more wins. 9. Kickin & Waffles They didn t lose this week, that s a plus. They scored some runs this week, that s a plus. They didn t let the other team score more than them, that s a plus. They tied. Minus 10pts. That s how fantasy kickball works. K & W needs some wins to get back on track. Get it done. 10. Wasted Talent 2.0 Two games, two ties. At least they refuse to lose. That s a good thing. They ll need to learn how to turn these ties into wins if they expect to be successful this season. They ve got talent on the team, they just need to learn how to work together and use. We have a feeling they ll get their soon. 11. Kickheads The kickheads are another squad that can t seem to get over the tie game hump. They ve got the experience, they ve got the skill. They just need to get it done. Let s see if they can turn things around this week, pull an upset and get their first win! 12. Rikickulous They lost to a very good FBD team. They scored some runs and didn t let them completely run away with the game so that bodes well for this squad. They ll need to keep doing what they do and the wins will start coming. A slow start that we think should turn around soon. 13. BSB Two games, no losses. This warrants a move up in the standings. They got a win in week one and a tie in week two. They are currently moving and shaking, getting the wins and ties as needed. We know they have experience; they ll need to keep using it to produce those wins. Great start BSB! 14. Pitch Please Great first win of the season. They came out firing, scoring numerous runs and playing some lock down D against a very experienced team. If they keep this up, we don t know where their ceiling will be. Let s go Pitch Please! Get it done! 15. We Put the FU in Fun Two games two losses. They ll need to get it going if they expect to salvage the season. We have a feeling they have what it takes to turn things around but they need to get it together and put together some wins soon. Can they get it done this week against Wasted Talent 2.0? 16. That Better Team They had the win in their hands and let it slip away and ended the game with a loss. We feel this team has what it takes and with experience, these types of losses will become wins. They ll just need to learn how to finish and the sky will be the limit. 17. FloCo Ballers They tied an experienced team. We gotta give em some props for that. It wasn t a win, but it wasn t a loss so they ve gotten better and that s all that matters. We moved them up one and hope they can continue to improve. Best of luck! 18. BallzDeep They lost to a brand new squad and unfortunately lost bad. This gets you in the basement until you earn your way out. They look great in pink though and we have a feeling they ll bounce back soon. 7 SPOTLIGHTS Veteran of the week Hunter Sears Dream Crushers How did you hear about WAKA? Rae Mauge told me and Alex Creech about this awesome team called the DALTS (Drunk and Looking to Score) and we couldn t NOT check it out. How many seasons have you played? What teams? Any championships? However many seasons you can fit in 3.5 years? DALTS, Cobra Kai, Dream Crushers, Duval Stunnas, Pitch Please, Pitch don t kill my Vibe, and whatever other obnoxious team name Corey comes up with Waka Regional Beaches Everywhere and 2014 Summer St Johns league Pitch Please What do you think about your WAKA experience thus far? I love it, between the Pregame warmups at Sneakers and the after parties I wouldn t trade it for anything. Who are some of your favorite Athletes? Calvin Johnson, Miguel Cabrera, Pavel Datsyuk, pretty much any one that puts on a Detroit jersey. What did/do you want to be when you grew/grow up? I don t ever want to grow up and therefore haven t put much thought into it. Relationship Status? Although she fell, very gracefully of course, in Week 1 against Dream Crushers I ll still claim Jordan Coley even though she made me miss an entire inning of the game! What are some of your other hobbies besides kickball? Blue Water with my dad (George Vancore) whenever possible, Soccer, Corn Hole, going to the Beach, watching my Buckeyes play. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? I can tell you where I wouldn t live and that s Toledo, OH. If you won the Lotto this week, what would you do with all that money? 70% of Lottery Winners go broke... So I wouldn t want to do that. Probably go on vacation and then go back to work. What was the last book you read? Um. Saturday Millionaires by Kristi Dosh. Got through 4 chapters and got distracted. Great read though on the money that s made through College Athletics and where it goes. What has been the most interesting Entertainment news to you within the past 12 months? Has to be George Clooney s wedding or maybe the Kardashians the Real Housewives of Everywhere is also very interesting to me. Can we have new questions on here? What superpower would you want if you had a choice? With great power comes great responsibility Uncle Ben, Spiderman Sounds like a lot of pressure so I m good.
