Idaho Falls is the South Division champion for the first time since They square off against the kings of the North Division, the Helena Brewers. Tonight is the decisive game 3. BREWERS INFO The Helena Brewers have been a steady team throughout the 2013 season. The Brewers clinched the playoffs by winning the Pioneer League North first half crown. Helena finished with a record in the first half, four games better than Great Falls. The Brewers finished behind the Voyagers in the second half of the season, and totaled the second most wins overall in the Pioneer League North. Helena met Great Falls in the divisional series. To finish the regular season, Great Falls beat Helena four straight times, and seven straight overall. Once the postseason began, the tables turned. The Brewers beat the second half North winners 2 games to nothing. League MVP Michael Ratterree stole the show in both games. The outfielder was a combined 5 for 6 with a home run and six runs scored. The Brewers blew out the Voyagers 16-5 in game one. It was a come from behind effort in game two, an 8-6 win. Barrett Astin is Helena s game three starter. The right- hander is 1-1 with a 4.30 ERA. Astin faced the Chukars once during the season. In relief, the Arkansas native went 2.1 innings and gave up three runs (two earned) on two hits. In the regular season, Williams had eight starts and four relief outings. CHUKARS INFO The Chukars have made the playoffs for the first time since Idaho Falls had the longest playoff drought in the Pioneer League. Now, for the first time since 2006, the Greybirds are in the championship. The Chukars are looking for their first title as an affiliate of the Royals. The last time Idaho Falls won was in 2000, as the Padres. The organization is looking for their 7 th title. The Chukars offense has been a strength all season. The team finished the 2013 season with the highest batting average and the most runs scored. But, that offense started slow in the Pioneer League Playoffs. Idaho Falls beat Grand Junction in game 1 at Melaleuca Field, but thanks in large part to eight Rockies errors. The Greybirds were held to just four hits in a game two loss in Grand Junction. Later that day, Idaho Falls beat Grand Junction in the final game of the series. To start the championship series, the offense again struggled out of the gate. The team scored just two runs and left eight on base. But, Jonathan Dziedzic s stellar outing allowed Idaho Falls to escape with a 2-1 win. A fast start for Helena led them to a 7-5 game two win. The Chukars game three starter is Jakob Junis. The right- hander was 2-6 with a 7.39 ERA in the regular season. He hasn t appeared in the playoffs yet for Idaho Falls. He has faced Helena twice in the regular season. He was 0-1, allowing 10 runs in 11 innings. CHUKARS AWARDS- The Chukars had three players named All- Stars in the Pioneer League. Carlos Garcia was the second baseman, after finishing 2 nd in the league in batting average. Zane Evans and Patrick Conroy were the other All- Stars. Daniel Rockett was named Player of the Month of August. SEASON MATCHUP- The Brewers had the edge over the Chukars in the regular season, but the teams finished up their season series in mid- July. Helena and Idaho Falls split games at Kindrick Legion Field. The final two wins of that series was the start of Idaho Falls winning 22 of 28 games in the road.

16 Coaching Staff: Manager: Omar Ramirez Chukars are game birds that typically fly together in a team. The Idaho Falls Chukars are a team that comes together to play a game. Both types of Chukars need leaders. Idaho Falls has Manager Omar Ramirez. Omar Ramirez will be the skipper at Idaho Falls for a second season after serving as the Chukars hitting coach in In his first season as manager, the Chukars finished in a tie for third place in the South Division. The 35 wins were the most for Idaho Falls since the 2009 season. As the hitting coach, the Chukars finished second in the Pioneer League in batting average. The second year manager anticipates another thrilling season. We will be an exciting team to watch, Omar Ramirez added, Especially in the middle. The Chukars have been in the top half of the Pioneer League in attendance each of the past four seasons. Omar Ramirez was the hitting coach at Burlington (R) in 2009 and Burlington (A) in Ramirez, the Indians 31st round pick in 1990 out of Hill Junior College in Texas, played outfield for eight seasons in the minors with the Indians and Astros before retiring following the 2001 season. Ramirez resides in his hometown of Santiago, Dominican Republic. Hitting Coach: Damon Hollins Damon Hollins is in his fourth season with the Royals as a hitting coach, his first at Idaho Falls. He began his coaching career in the same capacity at Burlington (R) in 2010, then coached at Kane County in 2011 and Wilmington in Hollins, a fourth-round selection by Atlanta in 1992, played in the Majors for the Braves (1998, 2004), Dudgers (1998) and Rays ( ). He spent the 2007 season in Japan with the Yomiuri Giants before playing for the Omaha Royals in Hollins resides in Litchfield Park, Ariz., with his wife, Patrice. Oates spent last season as an athletic training intern with the Major League club in Kansas City. Oates earned his bachelor of science in athletic training from Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio. He was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio, where he lives today. Strength & Conditioning Coach: Henry Torress III Henry Torres III enters his first season in the organization as a strength and conditioning coach. His previous experience includes a summer internship at All Sports Speed and Conditioning with former NFL player BayBay McClinton, where he trained collegiate and professional athletes from various sports.
