1 game notes double-a affiliate Frisco RoughRiders (22-28) northwest arkansas naturals (25-23) Texas Rangers Kansas City Royals game #51 tuesday, may 30 7:05 p.m. Dr Pepper Ballpark Frisco, TX RHP Connor Sadzeck (3-2, 4.75 ERA) vs. LHP Foster Griffin (Double-A debut) Video: MiLB.tv Audio: RidersBaseball.com, TuneIn Radio and MiLB First Pitch App LAST GAME: The Riders finished the road trip with a 17-3 loss at Arkansas Sunday afternoon...the Travs blew the game open with a 13-run sixth inning, which included 11 straight batters reaching base at one point and was capped with a grand slam by TYLER MARLETTE...Frisco took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second but didn t score again until the ninth... Rangers rehabber JOSE LECLERC worked a scoreless fifth inning in his first appearance with the Riders this year. TIME TO EDIT THE RECORD BOOK: The 13-run sixth inning against the Riders Sunday marked a single-inning franchise record. The previous high was nine runs, done three different times (all by Corpus Christi). Frisco s 17 runs allowed were the most since surrendering 21 tallies September 5, 2015 vs. Midland. That game was also the last time the Riders had allowed at least 20 hits (MID: 24), like they did Sunday. A TALE OF TWO SERIES FOR THE BATS: The Riders bats exploded in the three-game series at NW Arkansas but struggled to sustain the flow over the weekend at Arkansas. REC. R/GM AVG. 2B 3B HR SLG BB K RISP at NW ARKANSAS at ARKANSAS KINER THE CRUSHER: Riders utility man ISIAH KINER-FALEFA has been one of the go-to hitters for the Riders as of late: In just 47 games, he already has nine doubles, a triple and three homers, posting a.394 slugging percentage. It s a stark contrast to his first four pro seasons (329 games), when he totaled 33 doubles, six triples, no home runs and had a.309 slugging percentage. As a result of his improved power, Kiner-Falefa has had a few stints in the cleanup spot this season, his first time batting fourth as a professional. He made his debut there April 30 at Corpus Christi and has hit fourth four times overall. Kiner-Falefa enters play today on a season-high-tying seven-game hitting streak, batting.344 (11-32) with two doubles, a triple, a home run and eight RBIs in that span. He has taken over the team lead in RBIs (23) with his recent surge. TREVINO TURNING IT AROUND: Catcher JOSE TREVINO is on a roll heading into tonight s contest, batting.471 (8-17) in his last four games. He has multiple hits in three of the four games. Trevino was 0-13 prior to this surge and has raised his average all the way from.221 to.259. O BRIEN ON BOARD: Outfielder/first baseman PETER O BRIEN joined the RoughRiders Sunday after being received by Texas on a waiver claim from the Reds Saturday. He went 0-4 with a walk in his first game with Frisco. O Brien, 26, has spent time with Triple-A Omaha (Royals) and Triple-A Louisville (Reds) this season. Now with his fifth organization (Yankees, Diamondbacks, Royals, Reds, Rangers), O Brien has 120 career homers in 546 career Minor League games. He has also played parts of each of the last two seasons with Arizona at the Major League level. IN SEARCH OF QUALITY STARTS: The Riders have gone three straight games without receiving a quality start and have just four in the last 13 games after getting 11 in the previous 13. Tonight s starter, CONNOR SADZECK, has four, including three in his last five starts. DEALING DINGERS: The Riders allowed two more homers Sunday and have surrendered a Texas League-leading 58 roundtrippers this season. In the last 13 games, Riders pitching has seen 19 balls clear the wall, including six games with multiple homers allowed. THAT WAS CLOSE: So far, the Riders have made a habit of playing close games. Overall, 34 of the 50 contests this year have been decided by three runs or fewer. 16 of those have been one-run games but the Riders have gone just 5-11 in such contests. Last year, 91 of 139 games were decided by three runs or fewer, including 51 one-run affairs. LECLERC ON THE MEND: Former Riders pitcher JOSE LECLERC is still with the Riders as he recovers from a bruised right index finger. Leclerc pitched with the Riders in 2015 and 2016, combining to go 6-13 with a 5.36 ERA. He made his Major League debut with the Rangers July 6, In 10 games with Texas this year, he is 0-1 with a 2.31 ERA. upcoming pitching probables DATE TIME OPPONENT RIDERS STARTER OPPOSING STARTER 5/31 7:05 p.m. vs. NW Arkansas RHP Ariel Jurado (5-3, 3.86 ERA) RHP Ashton Goudeau (2-4, 3.51 ERA) 6/1 7:05 p.m. vs. NW Arkansas RHP David Ledbetter (1-2, 4.30 ERA) RHP Zach Lovvorn (2-3, 4.89 ERA) 6/2 7:05 p.m. vs. Arkansas LHP Yohander Mendez (2-3, 3.92 ERA) TBA 6/3 7:05 p.m. vs. Arkansas RHP Collin Wiles (4-2, 3.53 ERA) TBA team stats (tl rank) RIDERS NATURALS.248 (7th) AVERAGE.267 (3rd) 4.2 (6th) RUNS/GM 4.3 (4th) 8.7 (5th) HITS/GM 9.2 (6th) 74 (5th) DOUBLES 73 (6th) 13 (4th) TRIPLES 15 (2nd) 32 (7th) HOME RUNS 35 (T4th) 134 (6th) WALKS 102 (8th) 40 (T4th) SB 41 (3rd) 4.13 (6th) ERA 4.40 (7th) 8.1 (5th) K/9 INN. 8.2 (4th) 3.2 (5th) BB/9 INN. 3.0 (1st) 37 (T3rd) ERRORS 35 (2nd) record through 50 games Best record...(2008) Worst record...(2005) game pace this day in riders history MAY 30 last game Sunday, May 28 Dickey-Stephens Park ON THIS DAY IN R H E LOB Frisco Arkansas W Dylan Unsworth (3-4) L Collin Wiles (4-2) ALL-TIME RECORD 9-4 STREAK w1 Joey Gallo belted his ninth homer of the season and Andrew Faulker held Tulsa to two runs over six innings as the Riders beat the Drillers 6-2 at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
