RoughRiders right fielder Scott Heineman opened the ballgame with a home run onto the left-field berm. Deetz shut the door from there, holding Frisco to three hits until his exit after the fifth. He walked two and fanned four, throwing 47 of 76 pitches for strikes. Lefty Michael Freeman started double plays in the sixth and seventh to keep the visitors off the scoreboard. Riley Ferrell permitted two singles to begin the eighth but another double-play ball neutralized the threat. Juremi Profar s ninth-inning double led the Rider s final tally. Lead-off hitter Drew Ferguson countered Heineman s home run with a no-doubter of his own to left field. Ramon Laureano was next and sent a single up the middle. Laureano stole second and rode home on a two-out double off the bat of Trent Woodward. That was all the Hooks could muster against James Dykstra, who worked the first five innings. Corpus Christi broke through in the sixth against Adam Loewen and Clayton Cook. Bryan Muniz placed a two-run double inside the bag at third and Ferguson lined a two-run single into centerfield.
