1 Corpus Christi Hooks (18-12) at San Antonio Missions (14-16) Monday, May 11, 2015 Wolff Municipal Stadium San Antonio, TX 11:05 a.m. ON THE RECORD: 7-7 Home 11-5 Road Series 2-0 Sweeps L 2 Streak 3-2 Last Last 10 MISSIONS HOLD: San Antonio withstood a ninth-inning Hooks rally Sunday afternoon to claim a 6-5 win over Corpus Christi, leveling the Wolff Stadium series. With Game 2 tied at 3, Travis Jankowski stroked a one-out double to right field. Following a Daniel Minor wild pitch, Trea Turner punched a single into center to put the Missions up 4-3. Minor then walked two consecutive hitters, prompting Juan Minaya to enter from the pen. Minaya plunked Asencio with his first pitch to load the bases. Alberth Martinez followed with a two-run single for a 6-3 edge. Former Hook started the ninth for San Antonio and was greeted by a triple and a double from Carlos Correa and Conrad Gregor. One out later, Jon Kemmer singled to right, cutting the Missions lead to 1. Later in the frame, with runners at the corners, Tayron Guerrero induced a pop up from Teoscar Hernandez to end the game. Hernandez kept Corpus Christi alive Sunday with a pair of solo home runs. His second blast knocked veteran right-hander Zack Segovia out of the game in the eighth. Segovia and held the Hooks to two singles over the first five innings. Hernandez s lead-off shot in the sixth snapped a run of 10 in a row retired by Segovia. Gregor opened the seventh with a double, paving the way toward Corpus Christi s second run.
