Hauschild struck out three. In DeShields first three at-bats, he scored three times on a pair of walks, a bunt single and three stolen bases, forcing three throwing errors. Telvin Nash made it 4-0 in the seventh with a lead-off home run to right. Matt Heidenreich surrendered a walk and three consecutive hits to open the home half, handing the Missions two runs. SA scored three more, all unearned, in the eighth. Alex Sogard got a bouncer in front of home plate that would have ended the inning in scoreless fashion but his throw to first was low and skipped into the Hooks bullpen. DeShields got a late jump on a shallow fly to center that dropped on the grass for a two-run double by Jason Haggerty.
