He featured a 0.87 ERA thru his first 8 appearances and, from May 2 to May 24, authored a franchise best 6-game winning streak. Martinez is 1-1 with a 1.78 ERA in 6 starts vs. the Rough- Riders. Zach Zaneski cracked a solo home run off him on June 23 at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Signed by the Rangers as a non-drafted free agent in 2006, Pimentel ranks 2nd in the Texas League with 112 strikeouts. His.234 batting average against slots 2nd among circuit starters while his runners per 9 IP ratio places 5th. Pimentel has surrendered 16 home runs on the season - 3rd most in the loop. He pitched last Friday at Whataburger Field, holding the Hooks to 3 runs (2 ER) on 6 hits over 7 innings. Pimentel walked 1 and struck out 5 but settled for a no-decision as Frisco won 6-3 in 13 innings. He snapped a 4-game losing streak July 6 after tossing 6 innings of 1-run ball against Northwest Arkansas. He posted a ERA & a.337 batting average against during that downturn, allowing 7 HR. Pimentel, who won TL Pitcher of the Week honors twice in 3-week span, stood 6-1 with a 2.55 ERA thru his first 10 appearances (9 starts). All of those setbacks have been courtesy of Frisco at Whataburger Field. This visit wraps up a 35-game stretch in which the RoughRiders and Hooks will have faced off 16 times.
