Riders lead-off hitter Odubel Herrera went 5-for -5 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI. Jared Hoying drove in four runs, including a key two-run blast in the fifth inning off Hooks starter Matt Heidenreich (1-2). The top three in Frisco s lineup went 9-for-14 with four runs scored and seven RBIs. Heidenreich, who has allowed four home runs over his last two outings, yielded four runs on eight hits in five innings. He did not walk a batter and struck out five. RH Ruben Alaniz finished the game. DH Carlos Perez scored the lone Corpus Christi run of the game in the second. Perez and C Rene Garcia stroked consecutive singles off Ryan Feierabend (1-1). Enrique Hernandez then bounced into a double play, plating Perez while thwarting the rally. The Hooks managed to split the series despite generating just seven runs over the four-game set. 2 PAGE 2 QUEVEDO QUEUED: RHP Carlos Quevedo is slated to be the first out of the pen tonight for the Hooks. He worked just 1 inning on Thursday, allowing an unearned run in the sixth. With one away in the frame, Hanser Alberto reached on an error and moved to second via an errant pickoff attempt by Quevedo. Alberto promptly scored on Odubel Herrera s single to left. He threw 2.2 scoreless innings of relief April 13 at Springfield, yielding 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. In his Double-A debut April 8 against Tulsa at Whataburger Field, Quevedo struck out three and did not walk a batter in 1.2 innings. He allowed three hits, including a two-out solo home run off the bat of Kent Matthes in the sixth. The 23-year-old out of Valencia, VZ, made 2 relief appearances for Lancaster before being promoted to the Hooks, tossing 3.1 scoreless against High Desert. Quevedo went 6-7 with a 3.22 ERA and 7 saves in 40 appearances between Lexington and Lancaster last year. He struck out 96 and walked 16 over 86.2 IP, finishing the year with a 1.09 WHIP. Quevedo averaged 1.7 walks per nine innings while posting a 10.0 K/9 IP ratio. He began the season with Lexington and earned South Atlantic League mid-season All-Star honors. Quevedo notched a scoreless streak of 25 consecutive innings from April 15 to May 18. WOJO TL PITCHER OF THE WEEK: RHP Asher Wojciechowski has been named Texas League Pitcher of the Week for April Wojo held Tulsa to 4 hits over 5 scoreless innings in his start last Monday. He earned the victory on Saturday against Frisco, tossing four frames of shutout relief. Wojo did not issue a walk and struck out 8 over those 2 appearances, extending his scoreless innings streak to start the season to 18. The former first-round pick out of the Citadel paces the circuit with a 0.00 ERA. Wojo has not allowed a run since the fourth inning on August 20, 2012 at Springfield, a span that covers seven appearances and 31.0 innings.
