Corpus Christi committed three errors and the Missions took full advantage, scoring three unearned runs. Matt Andriese was impressive on the mound for San Antonio, tossing five shutout frames. He allowed two hits and three walks while striking out three. The Hooks finally broke thru in the sixth when Erik Castro worked a two-out walk. Jonathan Meyer then smacked an RBI double to left field, extending his hit streak to six games. Meyer struck again the in the eighth. With two away, the hot-hitting third baseman belted a two-run home run onto the berm in left. He now has seven home runs and 39 RBIs on the season. Prior to Meyer s big swing, Domingo Santana notched his first knock of the series with a run-scoring two-bagger to right. Corpus Christi, saddled with just its second series defeat of the season, looks to avert a San Antonio sweep tonight. Martinez, whose ERA actually dropped from 2.20 to 2.18 after tossing 5 innings of 1-run ball, still owns the best record in the minors at 9-1. He stands second in the Texas League in WHIP (0.94) and ranks 3rd in the Texas League in ERA. Martinez s last loss was August 18, 2012 at Inland Empire, a span of 19 regular season appearances. He is the only hurler in Hooks history to begin the year 9-0 and won a club-record 6 appearances in a row from May 2 to May 24. In his first 8 outings of the year, Martinez was 4-0 with a 0.87 ERA, striking out 16 against 6 walks.
