With the Hooks trailing 6-4, A.J. Reed began the 8th inning with a home run to left field. The next 2 men reached via a single and an error, chasing Missions starter James Needy from the contest. A lefty-lefty matchup, featuring Eury De La Rosa and Conrad Gregor, ended when Gregor belted a double down the right-field line, scoring Jon Kemmer to tie the game at 6. Following a fly out and an intentional walk, Brett Phillips smacked a bases-loaded single into right field for the go-ahead run. Michael Feliz, who entered the game with 2 away in the 5th, retired all 13 men he faced to close out the game. Chris Devenski endured another rough start. After Hunter Renfroe s solo shot in the 2nd, San Antonio scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning. Yeison Asencio highlighted the barrage with a 2-run homer to left field.
