The evening marks the eighth overall contest between the two clubs and fi rst visit by the 11-time World Champion Cardinals since St. Louis holds a lead in the all-time series since Tonight s game will be broadcast live on MiLB.TV, Sports 56 WHBQ, 87.7 FM, and internet webcast available at com. Steve Selby is on the call. CARDINALS RETURN TO AUTOZONE PAR The last time the Cardinals visited AutoZone Park was in 2009 for a pair of Exhibition Games. St. Louis won both contests, 13-1, and 7-3. CARDINALS CLOSE ON PURCHASE OF MEMPHIS REDBIRDS: The St. Louis Cardinals, the city of Memphis, and the Memphis Redbirds Baseball Foundation have completed the ownership transition of the Memphis Redbirds and AutoZone Park as part of a multi-party transaction that secures the long-term future of minor league baseball in Memphis. As part of the agreement, the St. Louis Cardinals have acquired the Memphis Redbirds, while the City of Memphis has acquired AutoZone Park. The City will lease the ballpark to the Redbirds via a long-term lease agreement. The purchase agreement includes a signifi cant, multi-season capital investment in AutoZone Park, which will be used to add state-of-the-art features and fanfriendly amenities to the ballpark. At closing, Fundamental Advisors LP, the Foundation s sole bondholder, retired the original bonds issued by the Memphis Center City Revenue Finance Corporation. JOE KELLY AS A REDBIRD: Cardinals starting pitcher Joe Kelly made 12 starts in a Redbirds uniform during the 2012 season, going 2-5 with a 2.86 ERA (12er/72.1ip) and 45 strikeouts. The righthander was leading the PCL in earned run average at the time of his recall by St. Louis on June 10, 2012, one day after his 24th birthday. REDBIRDS ALL-TIME ROSTE Since St. Louis and Memphis signed a player development partnership in 1998, a total of 515 players and coaching staff have appeared on the Redbirds. Of that number, 214 have played or served in a coaching capacity for the St. Louis Cardinals in their career. I-55 CONNECTION: Not including rehab players, 23 different Redbirds spent time in St. Louis last season.
