The American Water Heater is manufactured in Tennessee. Their tank less version is currently manufactured in Japan but they plan to bring it back to the United States. The National Appliance Energy Act of 1987 is now on the third generation. The new regulations will take effect on April 15 th, Hot water heaters must be manufactured more efficient. There is more insulation and therefore they will be larger and that needs to be taken into consideration for building so that the space allotted is adequate. The costs will rise as it takes more materials in each product and as the manufacturing all has to be retooled but the savings on the home owners energy bill will be about $50-60 for an electric heater and for a gas heater it will be around $120 less to operate a year. Gas water heaters will pump about 3 times the amount of hot water as the older models. Berit feels that eventually more tank less water heaters will be installed as they provide enough hot water to run three appliances at once: it s the trend of other countries; California law requires all new construction to make room for a tank less water heater. However, for installing a tank less water heater it is recommended for under 8 grains of hardness in the water. Generally, in our area it is much higher than that. A food grade vinegar rinse is recommended to regularly help clean out the residue.

People were interested in the booths and most vendors have some good leads to follow. The weather is improving and I am starting to see some construction being done. This is the time of year to be getting everything ready for a busy season of work. We need to give a Thank You to people like Kaylee and Terry for their time and effort that has been spent putting the Home Show together this year. They work hard for this project. Also, a thank you to all the businesses that were a part of this year s program. Two items to consider are; the WIBA Playhouse for next year and do we want to do a Business After Hours to honor the WIBA 60th year Anniversary next year? Stay safe! The WIBA Playhouse ticket sales totaled $3,780. for Knox Prairie Community Kitchen. That will help feed a lot of hungry people. They provide a free dinner twice a month at the Congregational Church on the square in Galesburg. The winner was Kenneth Hartz of Alexis. Little Mr. Homebuilder 2015 are; Evan Woolsey, William Hart, grandson of WIBA Member Karen Cabrera of FM Bank, & Tobias Reynolds, grandson of WIBA Member Lisa Reynolds of Western Illinois Title. Little Miss Homebuilder 2015 is; Jaclynn Reynolds, granddaughter of WIBA Member Lisa Reynolds of Western Illinois Title. Special Thanks to Tammy Lufkin of Hansen Lumber & Lufkin Sweiter Ready Mix for making the nice holders for the display frames for the WIBA Booth at the WIBA 38th Annual Home Show!
