TRAIL BOSS LETTER Yetta Hey! Well My final Camp with the Sky territory has come and gone, wish I would have felt better all weekend to enjoy it more but you can t always get what you want and made the best of what of the time there as I could. It was great to see all the new people that are willing to replace the officers leaving from sky territory, and I know they will do a great job and bring some new fresh ideas to the group. We also got to welcome the new trail boss Dan McCoy to the group, aka Linus. Wonder how his thumb tasted by the end of the weekend? With all that being said I hope everyone had a blast at the car rally and camp. We have many events still to come before the year ends. In the month of November we have 3 events The Overnighter, Family skate and the N.R. Christmas parade where we get to see Santa. Hard to believe there are LESS THEN 60 DAYS LEFT IN 2015 AND EVEN LESS TILL CHRISTMAS. Wow where has the year gone. I know I will miss seeing many of the sky territory but it s not good bye, it s on to the next journey. Have to go now as I think I need to start setting up my Christmas decorations now as I like to have them up before the snow starts falling and well at camp that already happened, so I need to hurry. Yetta Hey! Friends Always, Wes, Sierra, and Mackenzie Brown

Consider Being An Officer for 2016!!!!!! To All Princess Dads, Please consider being an officer for Nominations Started in September and most of the positions are open for 2016, meaning that dads in good standing with the organization can run for election (or audition in the case of the Storyteller position). Even if someone else is running for a given position, if you are interested in it run for it! Having more people running makes it more fun for everyone. Listed below are the names of each position with a brief description of what it entails. If you would like to know more, feel free to ask current or former officer about their experiences. Elections are held at the December Frontier meeting. See Dan McCoy or Wes Brown to nominate someone to run for a position. I hope you ll consider it! Thanks, Dan McCoy (2016 Trail Boss) Officer Positions for 2013 Position Description Election Status Nomination Name(s) 1 Trail Boss Responsible for all activities Closed Dan McCoy 2 Elder Supports Trail Boss as necessary Closed Wes Brown 3 Asst Trail Boss Works with Trail Boss to learn Open Scott Miller future responsibilities 4 Treasure Keeper Tracks all financial transactions Open Chris Finnecy 5 Fire Maker Organizes and runs all council Closed Chris Sliwinski fires 6 Asst. 6 Officer Expectations So, you think you might like to be an officer! You might ask what does that mean? What is expected of me if I were to become an officer? In anticipation of those questions, here is a brief summary of the general expectations of any officer, regardless of the position that you might hold. (Check the Princess Member Handbook for specific detailed responsibilities for each officer position). If you have questions, feel free to contact me or any officer to find out more. I hope you join us! Thanks, Dan McCoy, 2016 Trail Boss (Excerpts from officer expectations and conduct guidelines) You represent the organization as an officer at all times; both at and away from Princess Events you are viewed by others as representing the group. Set the right example at all times You have a duty to support the organization in decisions both big and small. What is right for the program, and what is right for the kids should guide us in making the right decision. It is our duty to preserve this program that we currently enjoy, for the benefit of those that will come in later years. Throughout the year all officers have assigned responsibilities. Some are clearly stated in the handbook and by-laws and some are not. Regardless of where the assignment comes from whether it is voluntary or a requirement of your elected position we are all counting on you to meet your commitment. It is the responsibility of all officers to attend all Officer and Frontier meetings. Be prepared to discuss any action items that you might have. Territory Scouts should be prepared to speak on behalf of their Territories. There are a number of events during the year where support from the general officer group is needed in order to be successful. The Mardi Gras fundraiser, the Guides Night at the Races, and supporting the council fires at campouts are several of the main ones. Even though you might not be the specific officer assigned to coordinate the event, we will all need to pitch in to make sure things run smoothly. Future officers: We need your help in identifying possible candidates for future officer positions. Without good leadership going forward, the organization will eventually fail. We need to make sure that does not happen.

SKY TERRITORY Night Owls Nothing to report at this time. NIGHT OWLS Yetta Hey from the Cloud Walkers! Nothing to report at this time. The Chepi s Nothing to report at this time Thanks, Friends Always Bert and Sarah Egglemeyer 2015 Sky Territory Scouts

Forest Territory Report: Sequoias Yetta Hey from the Sequoias!! Summer is gone and fall is in full swing. The car rally was a great time with 110 people supporting the Adventure Princesses program. The final destination had roller skating, putt putt in 3-D, plenty of TV s to watch the Browns win and a haunted house. Great choice!! Fall Camp was very nice although some warmer weather would have been nice. The council fire was hot and the 4th year fire was very special for the outgoing Sky territory. Next up will be the skating event and then the overnighter. Hope to see everyone soon!! Bear Clan Update Aneen Neeshee, (Hell-o my friends). The Bear Clan had an exciting October. The Buffalo Naval Overnighter was awesome! I hope everyone got a chance to also see Niagara Falls. The Car Rally was blast and we are happy to say none of the Bear Clan got (too) lost. We had fun at Ghostly Manor roller skating, playing miniature golf and going in the bounce house. The month was topped off with another great camp at Y-Noah. All the costumes were great! We are looking forward to more roller skating at the family skate in November, and we are excited for one of our favorite events, The Overnighter! We hope to see you all there! Friends Always! Megwetch (Thank you), Bear Clan Princess Grizzlies Grizzly Grapevine The Princess Grizzlies experienced firsthand the nuances of close quarters, primarily, sleeping inches away from chronic snorers. Myself, I had ear plugs buried so deep, I thought they may require a surgical procedure to remove. Much like my first exposure to the Buffalo Naval Overnighter, I offer the following link Seriously, it isn't funny anymore. Or, give Zyppah a try. Or, just don't go to bed. Snoring aside, the Overnighter provided loads of maritime fun. The weather on Saturday was cool and wet, but Sunday was gorgeous, perfect for touring the entire museum. The following weekend brought us the car rally. Most Grizzlies couldn't attend but I hear it had everyone surprised, as they thought they were going to Cedar Point. Nice job guys. Fall Camp brought you the Grizzly version of Dice-Dice Baby, as we bid farewell to Sky. It was colder than expected but we still had a great time. Much in store for November, skating, Kalahari, Overnighter, and a parade. Wow! Will see you somewhere I'm sure. Grizzly Breath Out. Fearless Fawns Nothing to report from the Fearless Fawns. Scott and Sadie Amick 2015 Forest Territory Scout

SUN TERRITORY REPORT: Ageyutsa The Ageyutsa Outpost expresses our deepest sympathy for the loss of Kimberli Iwanicki. Madison and her family are in our thoughts and prayers. Our girls had a great time at the Car Rally. Fall Camp was a blast too riding horses, archery, rock wall climbing and zip lining! We managed to successfully hold off all the sneak attacks on the trophy and left camp unscathed. 2 more months of this albatross, I mean, wonderful award, and we ll be able to pass it on to the next Outpost. See you at the November events! Friends Always! The Sunflowers It is with great sadness that we announce a loss in the family of the Sunflowers. On October 9th, one of our dads suddenly lost a wife and a princess lost a mom. Thoughts and prayers to the family of Stephen and Madison Iwanicki on the loss of their wife & mother, Kimberli Iwanicki. Friends Always! The Sunflowers Thee Lakota The Lakota would like to send their condolences to the Iwanicki family. We had a Spooktacular time at camp, the costume/dance was a blast. That clown on the mic was funny. Next year we are taking first place!! Next up is the skating party and then the overnighter. Yetta Hey, Thee Lakota Friends Always 2015 Sun Territory Scout Don & Kaila McKee

Water Territory Report: Water Sprites Water Sprites attended two events this month. We started out with the Car Rally and I know our girls had a great time skating, play house, haunted house and enjoying some food. Then we were on to fall camp. Camp is always great spending time with friends and our girls. The Halloween Party Friday night was a blast! One of our Princesses got sick and unfortunately had to leave early, but now on to Family Skate and Overnighter. Dancing Water Nothing to report. Amadahy Angels October was an awesome month; first the Angels had a great time at Buffalo Naval Park where we got to sleep on a World War II battleship. The snoring was amazing as well as the tight confines for sleeping on board both the ship and in the submarine next door. A special thanks goes out to all those who have served in the armed forces for their sacrifice to our great country. Next we had blast at the Car Rally. Many of us totally thought we were going to Cedar Point once we got to Rt We had a great time bouncing throughout the inflatable houses, skating on the roller rink and stuffing our faces with pizza and hot dogs at the never-ending buffet of food. Finally fall camp was here, wow what a busy month. The Angels took second place in the Halloween costume party, congrats! The weather was chilly but dry, perfect for fall camp. We burned a bunch of wood and had fun with all the camp activities and then said good bye to the outgoing Sky Territory, best of luck and see you in Senior Princesses. Happy Halloween! Yetta Hey! Friends Always! Vito, Victoria and Elizabeth Cimino 2015 Water Territory Scouts

Potawatomi (Poe-tah-wah)-toe-me That is how you say it. Congratulations to the 2015 Sky territory on the completion of the Princess program. I am sure you have all had a great 4 years in the Adventure Princess program. Now onto the next great experience whether it is Senior Princesses, dance or school athletics. Good Luck on your next ADVENTURE and THANK YOU. HEY LINUS!!! HAVE YOU SEEN THE GREAT PUMPKIN??? The scramble of the car rally was fun for the whole family. Where are we going Dad? We are in the middle of nowhere. Was a question that was heard mid ride. There ended up being a lot to do and we had a great time. At Fall camp the Potawatomi delivered again, coming in strong wearing our emotions on our sleeves. It didn t matter the emotion, we all felt Inside Out as Joy, Anger, Fear, Disgust or Sadness. We all probably felt a roller coaster of emotions as we went through the weekend. Taking first place in the costume contest was exhilarating considering the great competition we were up against. Saturday we kept the Adventure going from horseback riding and arts and crafts to archery, BB s to making our own see-saw with Dad s and Daughters. Walking from the archery range to the rock wall was fun as we followed the bridle trail to only get turned around, but then we finally made it after a quick short cut. The girls enjoyed climbing the rock wall to get on the zipline. WEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Can we do it again? We have to acknowledge the group that took our sign. We still do not know who did it (don t care either), but we can assure you next time it will not be as easy. We didn t even guard it and left it there for the taking. Who is going to bring a sign next time so we can get theirs? Many signs were MIA. Does anyone else have one? Bring them so we can have some fun next time. Remember Linus, you will need to be in the most sincere pumpkin patch and make sure you JUST BELIEVE.. Maybe he will come next year. Here s to just believing! -Potawatomi Soaring Phoenix Soaring Phoenix had a great time at camp. Our girls had a blast tackling the rock wall and zip line. Definitely overcame some fears. Horse arena rides were fun, but the girls can't wait to do trail rides in a couple years. That council fire was HOT! The girls love watching the trail boss work the hose Several of the girls needed to hear the Mary Poppins song to get the storyteller punch line... Go Buckeyes win and epic Michigan fail on last play vs Michigan State. A few questions from the girls: When is part 2 of the movie? Is candy always a meal at camp? Thanks all for the great memories of our first fall camp!

The SPARKS The Sparks and everyone that attended the Car Rally had a blast. Camp was fun, cold, but fun. We had a great time bunking with the Soaring Phoenix. They're a great group. Big thanks to the storyteller and firemaker for some great festivities. The climbing wall and zipline were tough, but we got it done after some encouragement from the group. Good luck to the fourth years. We'll miss you. Looking forward to the Overnighter and welcoming all the new members. PJ and Kaylee Egnaczyk 2015 Fire Territory Scout

Here is how the parade patch will look if you attend all 2015 parades:

Storyteller Story KIPPY, THE SAD LITTLE PUMPKIN On a hot summer day, the sun shined her sparkling light on a late-blooming flower sprouting from a pumpkin vine. "Hmmm" thought the sun, "that poor little one. There's not enough growing time left for her." Pumpkins do take some time to grow, you know, and it was already late in the summer. The earlier pumpkins had a beautiful orange glow; every time the farmer looked at them, he got hungry for homemade pumpkin pie with cinnamon sprinkled on top. The little flower held tight to the vine and hoped with all her heart that she'd grow up big and round like the other pumpkins. The farmer made sure she got enough water and the sun kept her warm. Before you could say "jack-o-lantern," Kippy, for that was her name, had become a tiny pumpkin. She looked all around her and saw many big, round pumpkins, all ready for picking. Kippy knew she could never catch up to them, no matter how hard she tried, and she hung her head and tried to hide under the leaves of the vine. Before long, summer turned into fall and still Kippy hung her head, feeling sad and wishing she could grow big like the other pumpkins. Finally it was Fall Fun Day at the Pumpkin Patch. Boys and girls, Moms and Dads trekked down the winding path to the pumpkin patch, looking for the best pumpkins. Kippy squeezed her pumpkin eyes tight, trying not to watch as one big pumpkin after another was chosen. Dads left, carrying heavy pumpkins that Moms knew would make the yummiest pies. Girls and boys called out to each other excitedly as they chose their own special pumpkins. Kippy shivered when she heard the children talking about carving scary faces on the pumpkins for Halloween. She thought to herself, "I'd like to have a face, too, but I don't want to scare anyone. I'd like to look happy, not scary." But Kippy wasn't happy at all. She was the littlest, saddest pumpkin in the whole pumpkin patch. Suddenly, Kippy heard a wee little voice saying, "That one, Mommy! I want that little pumpkin--there!--under those leaves." Sure enough, the youngster had spotted the sad little pumpkin hanging its head. Kippy could hardly believe her pumpkin ears! When the little fellow's Mom put her soft hand around Kippy and twisted her stem to free her, it kind of tickled and Kippy couldn't keep from giggling a little giggle. Then Kippy looked up and saw Mom smiling at her as she cradled the little pumpkin in her hand. She peeked out from between Mom s fingers to see the little boy. He was so small and thin! Kippy could hardly believe her pumpkin eyes! The boy was a lot smaller than the others, just like Kippy! When she saw the happy smile on the small boy's face, her little pumpkin heart began to throb with joy! "Mommy, I want to hold my pumpkin," the little boy told his mommy. I LOVE my pumpkin!" He reached out his arms and lovingly took Kippy from his mother and cradled the happy little pumpkin close to his heart. Kippy knew that her boy would not want her to be a scary pumpkin. Her boy would give Kippy a bright smile like his own, and Kippy would bring happiness to all who saw her. And that's how Kippy, the saddest little pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, became the happiest pumpkin of all. Kevin and Kaitlyn Sexton 2015 Storytellers
