1 MAY 2015 ADVENTURE PRINCESSES: RUNNING WATERS Upcoming Events: Indians Scout Night (5-8), Breakfast in the Park (4 th year only 5/23), Fishing Derby (5-24), Memorial Day Parade (5/25), Spring Camp (5/29 5/31)

2 TRAIL BOSS LETTER Yetta Hey! May has come and the events keep rolling on. April brought us 2 more great events, The Lake Erie Monsters game where the girls had a blast watching a great hockey game and one of our very own princesses won a prize during their customer appreciation game. Olivia Brommier won a Game jersey, congratulations. We also saw the event the girls and dads wait for each year the car race where I saw so many great cars. The water sprites took down the trail boss race with their car versus the Minion camp trail boss car. If this race was any sign of what the boat race will bring, I can t wait and will have to work even harder to try and win that for the officers. May brings us a few events a parade and of course the camp of the year Spring camp at camp Fitch. I see the checks pouring into me and the deadline for checks to this camp are May 7 th, at the frontier meeting or at the latest May 9 th at my house. This gives me the time needed to organize the camp cabins to meet what is usually a very good turnout. The one thing to keep in mind is if you have not paid your YMCA registration it must be paid prior to registration to be able to go to camp for insurance reasons. I would hate for you to miss camp over this so if you have not paid your membership fee to the YMCA please make sure you do that now so you can attend what will be a jam packed fun filled camp. Till next month. Yetta Hey! Friends Always, Wes, Sierra, and Mackenzie Brown

7 Forest Territory Report: Yetta Hey from the Sequoias Yetta Hey!! The Sequoias are having lots of fun as spring is here and the temperatures have arrived. Looking forward to the car race on Sunday, Indians night and spring camp will be here before we know it. We are working on a special song to reclaim our trophy. We are also in the process for scheduling our own fluff raid before the big one in June. Hope to see everyone soon. Yetta Hey from the Fearless Fawns Yetta Hey! Greetings from the Fearless Fawns. Its been a quiet month over here in Fawnland. We've been putting the finishing touches on our cars for the big race and gearing up for spring camp. Birthday wishes go out to are own Kendall Ziegler. See you all soon. Friends Always. The Fearless Fawns. The Grizzly Growler (formerly Grizzly Grapevine) The Grizzly Grapevine There was a Princess Grizzlies sighting at the Easter Party. Congrats to Sabrina Barbeck. winner of the older 9+ coloring contest. The Stromboli and Easter egg hunt were enjoyed by all the Grizzlies in attendance. The big event for the Grizzlies in April was our outpost meeting, where we finally achieved the final portion of our 4-part patch. What a great journey. We began with our Heritage leg and sponsored the Flag Retirement event at the 2014 Winter Camp. Shortly after, in March 2014, we volunteered for the St. Albert the Great Service Day, where we all had a chance to meet and craft with the residents of The Heights Rehabilitation Center. And in July-2014, then came the fun. A cookout, swimming and movie, at Ledge Pool, brought home the fun patch. Proceeding to the final leg, the Grizzlies met at the Brunswick Beuhler's, on April 12th, for some socializing and crafting, before taking a tour of the Brunswick Fire Station. We learned that neither Firemen nor Paramedics manned the station. They are, in fact, Firemedics. Firemedic John, Keith and Kevin were our gracious hosts as we received a personal tour of the dispatch center, lounge, kitchen, sleeping quarters and garage at the station. The princess grizzlies sat in an ambulance and walked through a pumper truck. We learned about all the gear the firemedic must wear whenever they respond to an emergency. It was a very fun and educational outpost meeting. But, there is more to April than just an outpost meeting. Trailboss, heed this warning, BEWARE OF THE BREEN-IN-ATOR, Grizzly crafted with one goal in mind, TAKE DOWN THE TRAILBOSS! And, princesses of the Ridgewood YMCA, save your dough. We got a snow cone with your name on it! See ya'all at the Car Race. GRIZZLY BREATH OUT.

11 Potawatomi (Poe-tah-wah)-toe-me That is how you say it. YETTA HEY! The Potawatomi took a breather in April but we definitely showed up at the Car Race. We placed first and third in the territory. We also finished second and third in best decorated. We worked hard building and decorating the cars and our hard work paid off. The next few weeks will be busy with the Indians game and being able to go on the field, to our first parade where we can show off our vests to everyone. Second camp coming fast, wondering what's in store. Many events coming fast!!! See you there! -Potawatomi Soaring Phoenix Nothing to report at this time. 27 Storyteller Story A Flower A Day Once upon a time there were two friends who lived in a palace with their families, who worked in service of the King. One of these boys knew a girl he liked so much that he wanted to give her a present. One day, he was walking with his friend in the main palace hall, and he saw a big vase filled with the loveliest flowers you could imagine. He decided to take one to give to the girl, thinking that no one would see him do so. He did the same thing the next day, and the next, and the next... until, one day, the King noticed how few flowers were left in the vase. He was so angry that he called everyone in the palace to assemble. When they were all before the King, the boy thought he should say it had been him who took the flowers. However, his friend told him to be quiet, because the King would be terribly angry with him. The boy was paralyzed with fear, but when the King came near he decided to confess. As soon as the boy said that he had done it, the King went red with anger, but on hearing what the boy had done with the flowers, a smile appeared on the King's face, and he said, "I couldn't have thought of a better use for my flowers." And, from that day, the boy and the King became great friends. They went to the vase and took two of those wonderful flowers, one for the girl, and the other for the Queen.
