I cannot believe another year has passed. Did anyone go to Time Square to watch the ball drop? Those who know me, I am an early riser and go to bed extremely early as well. I haven t seen the ball drop in years! Ha, ha, ha. I figure, why I would force myself to stay up half the night when I can see highlights of the event the next morning. On a serious note, I wish all of you a Happy and Healthy New Year and look forward to seeing you all in 2018.

It is being closed because most of the local snobs don't like them so they decided to close the drive in to get rid of them. Now the Knights decide to lash back at those who were responsible. And they try to make the best of the drive in's last night. They also have some new pledges and they have to perform a very daring task which includes making a song request and an announcement about the closing of Tubby's Drive In which is the Home of the Hollywood Knights Car Club before Midnight with the Local DJ played by none other than Wolfman Jack. Also one of the Knights is going to Vietnam, so he is making the best of his last day. And another member is having problems with his girlfriend. Comedy - Rated: R 1 hr. 31 min. The FBI has had no success in locating The Duke, so when Jack finds him in next to no time, they are a little embarrassed. In order to collect his $100,000 fee, Jack must take The Duke from New York to Los Angeles. However, the Mafia and the FBI have other ideas, as does Marvin Dorfler (John Ashton), a rival bounty hunter. From Wrigley Field to the Art Institute of Chicago to a Polish Pride parade, Bueller and friends intend on making the most of their day off. However, Ferris' sister and the school dean, Ed Rooney, suspect that Ferris is simply pretending to be ill. Both Rooney and Ferris' sister Jeanie are hot on Ferris' trail and are determined to catch him and his friends in the act of class-cutting. Comedy Rated: PG-13 1 hr. 43 min.

4 ***A SPECTACULAR CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON*** I think I can probably speak on behalf of everyone who attended this year s Christmas Luncheon on December 14 th, that it was AWESOME! The entertainment provided by DJ Nick DelGiodice of Shooting Star Entertainment, was absolutely the best. He interacted with us, had us up on our feet dancing and yes, even singing. Speaking of singing before the age of 10, I did numerous impersonations. One of which was the infamous Cher. I remember as a child, watching the Sonny & Cher Show on Sunday evening. I was completely mesmorized by Cher and her outlandish clothing (or lack of) I was in such awe of her I loved her singing and her performances. Don t ask me how, but somehow, I was able to impersonate her. And yes, Cher made an appearance at our Christmas Luncheon! Growing up in a strick Italian household, I used to always tell my Dad that I wanted to be on Broadway. Well his response was this The only Broadway you will see is Broadway Norwood! Needless to say, my dreams were shattered ha, ha, ha. Now onto the food which was catered by Ralph of Old Tappan Bar & Grill it was absolutely delicious. Ralph even came back to hand deliver menus and donated 30 $5 gift cards. forward to doing it all again next year! Looking DO YOU EVER FEEL LIKE YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED? Thursday February 22, :00 am Greater Bergen Community Action (GBCA) a non-profit community action organization that assists senior citizens with various services. A representative will be here to discuss various programs they offer. Some include: Economic Security Initiative (ESI) this provides clients with a personal approach to their economic needs. Another is Lead Remediation Program and Weatherization. These are free services to qualifying seniors. Come and join us for more details All are welcome! CALLING ALL CUPIDS Tuesday February 6, 12:00 We will be having a Valentine s Day Luncheon. The menu will consist of assorted sandwiches (catered from Butterworth s Bagels of Old Tappan, NJ), salads, dessert and beverages. And YES DJ Nick will be coming back to entertain us! All for a mere $ Sign-up today! No walk-ins or refunds. Deadline to register is February 2 nd.

5 Happy New Year! WHATEVER WEDNESDAY New to the Center, I am trying to come up with various activities for you to take part in. Whatever Wednesday will take place on the last Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm beginning in March. Some activities may include: A simple cooking lesson (and your very own care package to take home), Games Galore Pictionary, Scrabble matches, etc., Karaoke (start getting those vocal chords warmed up), Arts & Crafts, Out to Breakfast. All of these activities are free-of-charge except for breakfast. Stay tuned for future details. New Year s come and New Year s go, Pieces of time all in a row. As we live our life, each second and minute, I know I m privileged to have you in it. My appreciation never ends, For our greatest blessings are our family and friends. The Mitten Tree Another successful turnout of hats, mittens, gloves and scarves were collected and donated accordingly. Many women, men and children will be kept comfy cozy this winter.
