Collect your tickets during Photo/Dress Rehearsals at the Prairie Center, May 8 th 11 th from 4 8pm. 3. Any remaining tickets will be open to the public at the Prairie Center, May 8 th 11 th from 4 8pm. We sell out! NO tickets will be pulled until after April 28 th and payment has been received. NO refunds or exchanges. All tickets are $12 each and must be purchased for all children unless they are less than 6 months old and being held. The Maggie Atcher Theater at Prairie Center for the Arts holds a capacity of 420 audience members. It was designed for excellent viewing for audiences with no obstructions, and the furthest seating is only 14 rows away from the stage. 2 Photo/Dress Rehearsal Schedule We are so excited and looking forward to this year s recitals!!! Please read these important details to help everyone have a great day. Details will also be available outside Dance Studio 2 at CRC and MRC. TICKETS Four Dance Recitals (10:30am, 1:00pm, 3:30pm, and 7:00pm) will be held on Saturday, May 13 th at the Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Court, Schaumburg IL. The Prairie Center is a beautiful theater and is a great location for our recitals. The theater s size makes it necessary to limit the number of pre sale tickets to 6 per dancer so we can accommodate all of our families. Tickets for all shows are $12 each. You may pre pay for up to 6 tickets at the CRC, April 1 st April 28 th for your Designated Show. After April 28 th we will randomly pull your tickets for you. Your pre paid tickets will then be available for you to pick up during Photo/Dress Rehearsals at the Prairie Center Monday, May 8 th Thursday, May 11 th from 4 8pm. Any remaining tickets, they can be purchased during Photo/Dress Rehearsal time at the Prairie Center for $12 each, also. Tickets must be purchased for all children unless they are less than 6 months old and being held. All seats at the Prairie Center have great viewing for audiences! NO tickets will be pulled until payment has been received and there will be NO refunds or exchanges. SHOW ASSIGMNENTS Each class will perform in a minimum of one show. Some classes have been chosen to perform in multiple shows. Dancers chosen to perform in multiple shows are expected to perform in both Designated and Additional shows; however, family members are not required to buy tickets for more than one show. Ticket order forms indicate the show(s) your dancer is in. Class assignments for each show will be available after Spring Break. Designated Show is the show time assigned for your pre purchase tickets, and is the show in which your dancer is performing. Additional Show means that a class your dancer is in has been chosen to perform in more than one show. Dancers staying at the theater in between shows will be monitored at all times by SPD staff and volunteers, and be with their classmates in the holding area. Refer to the next page to find out how to volunteer. *Families of dancers in multiple classes or with siblings Due to the unique class schedule for each dancer, there are some instances that a dancer s classes or sibling s class are assigned in different shows. Please know that we have worked very hard to coordinate shows considering everyone. We appreciate your understanding. Thank You!! DRESS REHEARSALS This is a full dress rehearsal with costumes, tights, shoes, hair and make up as instructed by Inspire Dance Academy. Dancers should be fully dressed, ready to go, and waiting in the Prairie Center auditorium with their class, at least 15 minutes before his or her scheduled time. Do not leave if we are behind schedule. Please refer to the enclosed Photo/Dress Rehearsal schedule. COSTUMES Do not wear any portion of costume before Photo/ Dress Rehearsal or Recital (wrist/arm bands, hair pieces, etc.). Do not use an iron or clothing steamer on any part of the costume. Costumes should be hung to take out wrinkles a steamy bathroom or wrinkle release product may work well. If applicable, gently separate layers of tulle and smooth out with your hands. Label your dancer s costumes, accessories, shoes and tights on the costume s tag inside, not on the material. Any alterations are the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Your instructor has advised you as to any special requirements regarding final adjustments to costumes. Please sew any parts that need adjusting, instead of safety pinning. CAMISOLES AND TIGHTS Tights received with costumes should be worn for Photo/ Dress Rehearsal and at Recital ONLY. Also, do not use last year s tights. We want to get all of our dancers prepared for dress rehearsal and recital day. One problem we have noticed in the past is that many of our younger female dancers are accustomed to wearing underwear under their tights. If you begin explaining to your child that dancers don t wear underwear under costumes; that it is like when they wear a swimsuit, you can help them be prepared for dress rehearsal and recital. Remember no underwear or bras are worn on dress rehearsal and recital days. On recital day, female dancers with quick changes should layer tights. Older dancers or dancers with quick changes must wear a nude camisole leotard. MAKE UP AND HAIR STYLES Females should wear long lasting/waterproof make up for stage lighting. Choose a neutral/brown eye shadow, blush for cheeks, pink or red smear proof lip product, and translucent or skin tone colored face powder. Base, eyeliner and mascara are optional, but suggested for older females. Female dancers must have their hair secured up in a bun for all classes. Please go to arts/dance/howto and watch the first video that plays, by LoMastro, for a great tutorial on how to make the proper bun for dance. NO big doughnut style buns or crochet bun covers, please. Male dancers may wear translucent or skin tone colored face powder, clear lip gloss and have neatly styled hair dos. Please do not use glitter on skin or hair.

3 Inspire Dance Academy of Schaumburg Recital May 13, 2017 DANCE SHOES Ballet shoe ties need to be tucked inside shoes. All dance shoes should be as clean as possible. Dance shoe color and style must follow the class dancewear guidelines found in the parent handbook which is on line, or you can ask your instructor for a copy. JEWELRY AND NAIL POLISH Absolutely NO jewelry will be allowed at Dress Rehearsal or on Recital Day. It is dangerous and distracting. Please make sure to remove jewelry at home. We do not want to see anyone misplace or lose valuables. This includes all styles of earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings. We also ask that all nail polish be removed. PHOTOS/VIDEOS Please feel free to videotape and take photos all you like at Dress Rehearsal. It is absolutely prohibited on Recital Day! Professional photos will be taken by Lifetouch Photography at Dress Rehearsals. Each class has a designated photo time that will take place with the class s dress rehearsal. Refer to the enclosed Photo/Dress Rehearsal schedule for your class time. Paper photo order forms will be available at the CRC, MRC and Prairie Center. Payment is required when ordering. Lifetouch has an improved online pre ordering system that offers big discounts and many more advantages, when you place your order online before your photo time slot. I did a test run and it really is incredibly easy! Our unique web address for online photo pre ordering is Make sure to bring the order ticket(s) to dress rehearsal/photo day. Photos will be delivered from Lifetouch Photography to the address entered when placing the order. Contact their customer service dept. at sportservice@lifetouch.com or for assistance. Each recital show will be professionally videotaped on recital day by TLC Video. HD DVD copies are available for purchase and offered at a discount if you pre order, or order more than one DVD. DVD pre orders will be accepted at the CRC until May 10 th. You may also place an order directly with TLC Video at the Prairie Center on Recital Day. Please understand that the video will be a complete taping of the entire recital will not feature only your child. DVDs will be delivered from TLC Video to the address you entered when placing your order. Payment by check to Tom Engle is required when ordering (Schaumburg Park District will NOT be processing payments, only collecting them. DAY OF RECITAL All dancers should report 1 hour prior to each show they are in, to the dancer holding room upon arrival at the Prairie Center on Saturday, May 13 th. There will be signs throughout the building notifying you where the holding room is located. Dancers should find and sit with their class; they will be checked in by class, not at the door. Please remember there will be absolutely no jewelry, no photography, or videotaping allowed on Recital Day. Female dancers should arrive with hair and makeup completed. Please label all costume pieces and dance shoes so no items are lost. We ask that dancers do not bring valuables into the dancer holding room or dressing rooms. These include cell phones, tablets, gaming devices, etc. Dancers are expected to perform in all designated and assigned shows. Dancers asked to be in multiple shows may be dropped off and will stay with SPD Staff and/or room moms during the show. The only dancers allowed to bring food are those in multiple shows or that have medical conditions. Please do not pack colored beverages, foods that contain any nuts, or fast food. There is no refrigerator available; any food dancers bring should be able to be able to be stored at room temperature. There will be a designated eating area. VOLUNTEER FORMS Please sign up to be a room monitor at recital. Especially if your dancer is in several shows; you can watch at your designated show and volunteer at a different show. Please complete the volunteer form in this packet and return to the CRC registration counter. At least one room monitor is needed per class. Room monitors help at dress rehearsal and at recital, they stay with the class at all times and help get dancers on and off stage. Seats are reserved during the recitals for the room monitors while their dancer s class performs.
