Because as our front jacket cover shows, it is our 100th magazine to be compiled, printed and distributed country-wide! Since its establishment 100 issues ago (in April 2003) the magazine has grown in stature, the respect of a loyal readership and advertiser base, a band of authoritative of Circulation (ABC). It is indeed a publication worthy of international acclaim, which its digital format is quickly achieving. One hundred issues down the track, Die Oewerhengelaar/The Bank Angler remains true to its mission, namely it is the magazine for tips, advice and for us, and we tell you everything. Whether it be our traditional bank angling, competitive carp South Africa can deliver. Sedert sy ontstaan 100 uitgawes terug (in April 2003) het die tydskrif se status, invloed en waarde aanhoudend gegroei, en geniet dit legimiteit as die amptelike publikasie van die SA Varswater Oewerhengelfederasie (SAVOF), die respek van lojale lesers en adverteerders, n groep kundige skrywers en korrespondente, en n sirkulasie wat deur die Audit Bureau of Circulation bevestig word. Dit is inderdaad n tydskrif van internasionale gehalte, iets wat sy stygende getal digitale intekenaars illustreer. Hierdie maand, met sy 100ste verskyning bly die tydskrif getrou aan sy doelstellings, en publiseer weer eens n tydskrif wat alle fasette van ons varswaterhengel uitbeeld en toelig ons tradisionele oewerhengel, kompeterende karphengel, match-hengel, feederhengel asook spesiekarphengel, en daar is ook plek om die vangste van lesers, waarsonder geen publikasie n lewe het nie, uit te beeld.
