1 Cypress Lake Country Club Golf Committee Meeting Minutes January 10, :30 pm In Attendance: Absent: Ex Officio: Cheryl Schramm (Chair), Rick Krichbaum, Vince Grace, Robin Obetz, Chris Black, Sherry Christie, Bob Davis Debbie Fisher Jon Pazdera, Ed Rodgers Meeting called to order: 3:32pm Approval of Minutes: There were no changes to last meetings minutes Motion: Bob Davis moved to approve the minutes and Cheryl Schramm seconded. All in favor. Minutes approved. Head Golf Professional Report: Submitted by Jon Pazdera Jon Pazdera reported to the committee a comparison of Greens fee and cart fee revenue for November 18 December 31 of 2016 vs The 2017 revenue line for Guest fees are higher than 2016 since guest fees include cart fee revenue. The 2017 revenue line for cart fees is less in 2017 for the same reason. The number above the first red cell represents guest fees minus the cart revenue and the number above the second red cell represents cart fees added in from guest fees to give an actual representation. Looking at the comparison the club operated in a positive number of $13,575 when looking at guest fees and cart fees alone. Green Fees QTY $$$ $26, $43, , Variance 176 $16, , Carts QTY $$$ $37, $33,948 42, Variance 203 ($3,265) $5,464 YTD we are operating in the negative due to the setback from Hurricane Irma. We are hoping to continue the positive trend with good weather, event participation, and usage of the club. Jon also did a recap of the reciprocals over the summer during the course closure. There were over 5,000 reciprocals made with over 3,800 made to the 6 cart fee only clubs. Gulf Harbour was the most played course. Bob Davis mentioned that we should send a thank you to the six clubs that let our members play for a cart fee only. Jon said that we already brought the staff at these clubs, bagels and cream cheese as a thank you. Handicap Report: Vince Grace provided the following report: The handicap committee is giving people 48 hours to post their scores. The three committee members each have 2 days a week they are responsible for checking GolfHits to make sure people are posting. Members will get 1 reminder to make sure they post scores. If it happens a second time, a score that is equal to the lowest score of the player s differential will be posted by the committee.

2 Rick Krichbaum asked if there was any other means of communication besides (e.g send a hard?) due to new s possibly going into peoples junk mail or Spam mail. Jon said that the whole idea about GolfHits is the ease to track and send notices via . Jon will check with Joe Stein of GolfHits if there is anyway to get a receipt of viewing when players get a notice for not posting. Bob Davis recommended to get a report that shows the number of rounds played vs rounds that were not posted. Bob Davis said that he has heard from some members that there is a group or possibly more than one group that have been playing different sets of tees to make their own course and made the following motion: Motion: Only scores played from the FSGA rated tees on the scorecard are to be posted for handicap purposes. If a group chooses to play from a different set of tees, they should let the golf shop know so they can make a note on that day s tee sheet so they don t get notices for not posting. The club discourages members from playing tees not on the scorecard rated by the FSGA because of the difficulty and inconsistency in establishing a consistent course rating and slope. Seconded by Cheryl Schramm. All were in favor except for Chris Black and Sherry Christie who opposed. MGA/WGA/Niners Report: Cheryl Schramm and Sherry Christie shared the following information about the WGA: o WGA Championship starts on Tuesday, January 16 o Patty Berg Pro-Am is Monday, January 29 o Member Guest is on March 5 & 6. Members may bring up to 3 guests. o Both Interclubs are in the middle of the pack. Robin Obetz submitted the following information for the Niners: o Welcome Back Luncheon is Monday, January 22 o The number of Niners each week has been down but hoping once season gets busier more will come out. o They like playing on Mondays and are grateful to be able to do so Bob Davis submitted the following information for the MGA: o HOLIDAY CLASSIC - RESULTS This event was scheduled for Saturday, December 9th with an 8:30 AM shotgun start. Because of rain, wind and colder temperatures, the shotgun start was delayed until 10 AM. The original sign up was for 104 players, but due to the weather conditions, 88 players participated. This was the first MGA event of the shortened season. It was a 2man team event. The format was 6 holes Scramble, 6 holes Alternate Shot and 6 holes Best Ball. A complimentary buffet lunch was served after play to the players. Flights were based on total team handicaps. FLIGHT WINNERS: 1ST FLIGHT Bill Burnell & Tom Turner 2nd FLIGHT Bob Anderson & Todd Marcum 3rd FLIGHT Ben Cicero & Rich Krichbaum 4th FLIGHT Doug Goldman & Dennis Hogerheide o All the team and flight results are available on the Member Portal of GOLF GENIUS LEADERBOARD, HOLIDAY CLASSIC The total prize purse paid out in Golf Shop credit was $2,000 to the top 40% of each flight. The complimentary lunch to all participants was budgeted and paid from MGA annual dues. o GOLF GENIUS SOFTWARE FOR MGA EVENTS This new software will be utilized for all future MGA events. It allows the participants to enter scores and observe the leaderboard during the event. The event results after completion are quickly tabulated and displayed on large screen TVs in the clubhouse. Player payouts, MGA Cup points calculations, GHIN score postings and many other features are present in this software that is now being used for many member groups in CLCC. o MGA STEERING COMMITTEE LEADERSHIP CHANGE

3 At the Spring, 2018 MGA Steering Committee meeting, Dennis Lubozynski will assume the President s role for the MGA. Bob Davis will continue on the Steering Committee in an ex-officio role for one year to assure a smooth leadership transition. o OTHER NEWS: o An updated budget was presented o A history of participation was presented that shows participation in events have increased. o UPCOMING MGA EVENTS: 4 BALL MATCH PLAY MATCHES BEGIN JANUARY 15, 2018 This is a two-man team, best ball handicap event. Because of the shortened season, there will not be a qualification by the team to enter the event. Sign up as a team and a random drawing will be held to assign seedings and matches. If more than 32 teams sign up, there will be play in matches to establish the final 32 teams. The deadline to sign up is Friday, January 12th at Noon. SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, JANUARY 19TH AND 20TH, 2018 This is a 36-Hole individual event, flighted by age with both a gross and net division. Cross over tee times will begin Friday, January 19th at 12 PM and Saturday at 8:00 AM. The deadline for sign up is Wednesday, January 17th at Noon. Guest Policy The following policy was recommended to the committee to help simplify and make it easier to understand: Definitions: GUESTS include: all people using the facilities that are not a member FAMILY GUESTS include: father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, father-in-law, mother-inlaw, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, or grandchildren in their title UNACCOMPANIED GUESTS include: Any guest family or not, that is not accompanied by a member HONORARY GUESTS include: any guest of a Honorary member. Fees: All guests must pay guest fees as established each year by the Board of Directors. Family guests pay one-half the established guest fees November April when accompanied by the member. The sponsoring Member will be responsible for all charges incurred by their guests and may choose to have the charges applied to their account or may allow the guest to pay for the charges using only a Visa, Mastercard, or American Express charge card. A range guest fee of $10 will be charged if the member is not present when their guest uses the range and the guest is not playing the day they use the range. Sport Members may use the driving range May October for a daily fee of $10. They will not be charged to use the range on days they play the course. Restrictions: Guests may play a total of 12 rounds (9 or 18) from November through April. Family Guests may play a total of 18 rounds from November through April. There is no time restriction as to when they can play. A guest may play with a member an unlimited number of times from May through October. In order for a person to get the family guest rate, a family member must be present on the day of play. The member is responsible for all incurred charges.

4 Unaccompanied guests tee times must be made by a member who must go through the Head Golf Professional for approval to make the tee time. Members may not make a tee time with their name on the tee sheet and hold the time for guests without notifying the Head Golf Professional. Honorary guests must follow the same rules as those set forth for family and regular guests except that spouses of Honorary members will not pay a guest fee nor a cart fee. Motion: Bob Davis motioned that the recommended Guest Policy be presented to the Board. Seconded by Sherry Christie. All in Favor. Motion passed. Carts in Each Group A discussion was had regarding the number of carts to be allowed on the course for each group. There have been many groups with three carts on the course for a group of 3-4 players. Some points made were that each playing group should be limited to two carts in each group to help reduce the wear and tear on a new golf course. Another point was that people shouldn t be restricted as to who they ride with in a group and that some have private carts and they should be able to use their cart should they choose to. A question of could the bag staff ask members if they can put them on a cart with another player in their group to reduce the number of carts on the course. Motion: Bob Davis motioned that there should be a maximum of two carts in any playing group. Seconded by Cheryl Schramm. All in Favor except Rick Krichbaum opposed. Capital Budget Recommendations Jon Pazdera recommended the following capital budget items for approval: Golf Operation Capital Budget Re-structure Recommendations Actual Budget 1. 5 Motion: Bob Davis motioned that the Capital Budget recommendations be approved. Seconded by Sherry Christie. All in Favor. Motion passed. Old Business: None to report New Business: Bob Davis asked if there was a limit to the type of drink one can order when someone gets a hole-in-one? Right now there isn t one, but Ed Rodgers stated that it can be limited to well and call drinks for hard liquor. A discussion was had about groups who make more than one tee time and should they be required to use Golf Genius for their group. Jon stated that any groups where the golf shop made scorecards for last year are required to use Golf Genius or they have to do their scoring on their own. Groups shouldn t be required to use GG, but encouraged to use it. It is recommended that group leaders take some time with the golf professionals to see what the features and benefits are for their group to use GG. Ed Rodgers asked where we stand with collecting hole by hole scores for stroke allocations. Jon stated that with each group that is using GG, they are entering their scores hole by hole in GG and we are accumulating information from different types of players and tees. Meeting adjourned: With no further discussion, the meeting adjourned at 5:38pm.
