Golf Trip Captain s Guide Edition 7, May , 2011 GolfTripGenius.com

1 Getting Started This Guide will assist you in using GolfTripGenius.com. You may also find it beneficial to watch the videos on our web site that review all of our key capabilities. Also, remember that the best way to learn how to drive on our site is by simply experimenting. You can try something and easily override or undo it. Managing your golf trip with GolfTripGenius.com is as easy as signing up and entering some details about your trip. You can start with our Basic Edition and upgrade to the Genius Edition when and if it makes sense for you. There are five major components to GolfTripGenius.com, all of which are accessed in the context of a trip. A trip consists of 4 to 24 golfers playing 2 to 16 rounds of golf at one or more destinations. The five components are: A typical use of GolfTripGenius.com for a Genius Edition user follows this path: 1. A trip is created by a captain from the captain s Welcome Page on GolfTripGenius.com. 2. Other golfers are invited to join the trip site (not required). 3. The captain sets rules for pairings and then creates a schedule (who is playing with whom in which rounds). 4. Golfers enter profile information: travel plans, emergency contact info, golfer photo, etc. 5. Captain sets up tournaments. 6. Captain and golfers use messaging facility to communicate about trip and keep messages on message board. 7. Some accounting entries are made by captain to keep track of deposits and other pre- trip expenses. 8. Captain creates pre- trip book consisting of a welcome letter, player profiles with photos, tee sheet, tournament descriptions, scorecards (optionally marked with strokes), and photos. 2

9. Once on the trip, captain enters gross scores for rounds played and runs leaderboard each day. The captain can also create a daily report with the day s tournament results and photos. 10. After the trip, captain records all group expenses and payments. 11. After trip, captain creates memory book, consisting of completed scorecards, the leaderboard and photos taken during the trip. One or more players on a trip are designated as Captains. The person who creates a trip is a captain, and a captain can designate other captains by setting the captain field in a golfer profile. Captains have complete control of a trip. They can edit profile information for each golfer, create rules for pairings, update the pairings, enter tournaments, enter scorecards, run the leaderboard, create trip books and upload/download photos from the photo gallery. Players who are not captains can edit their own profile, view pairings and trip books after the captain has released them, view the leaderboard, and upload/download photos to/from the photo gallery. The captain has the option of sending pre- formatted electronic invitations to the other golfers on a trip. The Captain s invitations allow others in the group to register on GolfTripGenius.com so they can take advantage of the useful features found in GolfTripGenius.com. In effect, you group has its own private web site on our site. If you do decide to send the invitations and other members of your trip register, be assured that there are certain actions and functions that are reserved for the trip Captain. To get started, go to GolfTripGenius.com. Click on Register and you will see the following: 3

We pass along to you 100% of the discounts provided to us. This section is intended to provide quick access to all the products you might find useful for your trip. As you can see in the middle of the page, you can take a test drive or create a trip. If you have not used GolfTripGenius.com before, then we suggest that you create a test drive trip. You can exercise every part of our site with this trip to Genius Island for 8 golfers playing 5 rounds of golf. When you are ready to create a real trip, click on create a new trip. You will be presented with a wizard with which you can enter the basic information about your trip. You will first be taken to a page where you can choose to create a Basic trip or a Genius Trip. This page describes the differences and provides access to a comparison table. Select a trip type by clicking one of the buttons. You will then be taken to the following page: After entering this basic information and clicking next, you will be take to a page where you can optionally invite other golfers on your trip. 5

You can invite golfers here, or at a later time, or not at all. Most captains choose to invite the other golfers so that each golfer can enter travel plans and other logistical information, view pairings, tournaments and results. Golfers can also upload photos to the trip photo gallery so that all of the trip photos are in one place and available to all golfers on the trip. If you do not want to invite the golfers at this time, click skip this step for now at the bottom of the page. When you invite golfers (you can invite just some of the golfers filling in just some of the address fields), an will be sent to each golfer with a link that they can use to register on the site and have access to the trip. We provide a standard form of the , but you can modify it from this page. After you invite golfers or skip this step, you will be taken to the final page in the wizard, which can be used to enter information about the courses being played: 6

The number of rounds shown on this page will be the number of rounds you specified on the first page of the wizard. You can enter some or all of this information now, or skip this step altogether. When you select a region, the course list will include all courses from our database in the region. If you are playing a course that is not in our database, you can click the Help & Support button on any page and request that the course be added. Whatever information you do not provide here can be added at anytime. We do suggest that you enter whatever information you have, and at least set the days properly. After clicking Finish or skipping this step, you will be taken to the Trip Dashboard. This trip will also appear on your Welcome page when you login (above Create new trip ). 7

3 The GTG Trip Dashboard When you click on the trip from the Welcome page, or select Dashboard from the Logistics tab on the navigation bar, you will taken to the Trip Dashboard page: The area at the top of the page that has several tabs Home, Trip Logistics, Perfect Pairings, etc. - is the navigation bar, sometimes referred to in this Guide as the nav bar. Mousing over these tabs will display commands, from which you will access all of the capabilities of GolfTripGenius.com. For example, if you place the mouse over Perfect Pairings, you will see view/edit pairings, view/edit rules and update schedule. Click on any of these to access that function. Until all players are invited, the Invite Players button will appear on the dashboard for the captain. You can choose to invite none, some or all of the players. After you have invited all the players, the button will appear but will be dulled out. 8

Because entering the players handles is important for viewing the pairings, we make this particularly straightforward. If you place the mouse over any entry that says Player n the arrow pointer will turn into a finger pointer. Just press the mouse and the field will turn into a text box, and you can quickly enter the handle. Do this for every golfer, if you like, and the player handles will automatically appear when you view pairings. The same holds true for entering player indexes. Just mouse over the?, click and enter index. If you enter golfer indexes and specify courses, then we print course handicap for each golfer in each round on the tee sheet. For scratch golfers or better, enter a + before the index, but for normal indexes, just enter a number such as Next to each player on the dashboard is a button labeled Actions. If a player has not been invited, the only action is edit profile, enabling the captain to edit the profile information for this player. If the player has been invited but not yet registered, the actions are edit profile and Re- invite. If you choose Re- invite, you will be able to enter a new or corrected address and send another invitation. After a player is registered, the options are Edit Profile, Remove Player But Keep Open Slot on Trip and Remove Player and Reduce Trip Size to x. The last two options deal with the inevitable situation where players drop out and others are added. Usually, if you have a group of 12, for example, and someone drops out, a replacement will be found and the slot should be maintained you simply change the name, etc. Sometimes, particularly at the last moment, someone has to drop out and there is no replacement. The To Do list (top right) will remind you of what remains to be done before your trip. Simply click on the To Do button to see a list of what remains to be done. When you are ready to add or change information about rounds, click Manage Rounds and you will be taken to the page described earlier to enter course details. You can change any and all data about a round. To be clear, if you are changing a Tuesday round at Carnoustie to a Wednesday round at Gleneagles, just update the round. There is no need to delete and add a round (in fact, there is no way to delete a round). If you are not going to play one or more rounds, check round will not be played on the manage rounds page. You can uncheck this later if the round is to be played. Note that Genius Edition users should enter tee to be played so that course handicaps can be calculated. To calculate course handicap, course and tee must be set, and player index must be supplied. You can enter the tee after playing the round, but before you run the leaderboard. At the bottom right of the dashboard is a section to add events meetings, dinners, etc. 9

4 The Invitation Following is a sample of the that an invited player will receive: If you invite golfers to the trip and they register, they can then access the site, edit their profile, use the GTG Message Board, view pairings, view Tournaments and the Leaderboard, and view the GTG Trip Accountant. If you invite a golfer but enter an incorrect address, the will bounce and GolfTripGenius Support will receive the bounced message. If this occurs, GTG Support will send you an message describing what happened. After you determine the correct address, you can click Reinvite under Actions on the dashboard. You will be prompted to enter the correct address, and then a new invitation will be ed. After the player registers, the Reinvite button will no longer appear next to his or her name. As Captain, you do not need to wait for the other golfers on your trip to register before you start becoming familiar with the site. We suggest that you edit the profiles and just enter a handle for each golfer. You can then experiment with the various features of GolfTripGenius.com. 5 Other Pages in Trip Logistics Besides the Dashboard, other pages accessible from the Trip Logistics tab are travel plans, housing plans, messaging and Trip Profile. 10

The trip profile will show at a glance which golfers have been invited, and which of these have registered. You can also change the trip name, increase the number of golfers and/or number of rounds being played, and change from Basic Edition to Genius Edition. If you make changes to players, rounds or edition, you will be taken to the payment processing page. The travel plans page displays all travel logistics information, and the housing plans page allows you to specify and view housing plans (i.e., who is assigned to which condo, etc.). The Messaging page, also accessed from Trip Logistics, is described in section 7 of this Guide. 6 Player Profiles A profile is maintained for each golfer. As captain, you can enter or edit profile information for each golfer, and each golfer can update his or her own profile information. Edit profile is accessed from the action button next to each golfer on the dashboard page: 11

The captain or the golfer can update all information except the trip book profile, which can be provided only by the captain. Captains can also upload photos for golfers if the golfer has been invited to the trip and registered. 12

7 The Message Board The GTG Message Board can be used to communicate easily and efficiently with the other golfers. Click on Messages, then New Message : On the left are checkboxes for the registered golfers, and other golfers for whom you have already entered an address in their profile. By default, messages are posted to the GTG Message Board, but are not ed to players. If you want to also have a message ed, simply check the players to whom you want s sent. If you are staying at a resort, you will also see check boxes for golf coordinators at the resort. By checking (or not) the boxes, you can control who sees a particular message just the golfers on your trip, just golf resort coordinators, or both. The default is both, as both boxes are initially checked for you. If you click on the Logistics tab, you will see a list of all players and their profiles. This view is very helpful in seeing the details of travel plans. For example, it can be significant to see who is planning to rent a car (typically, a golf group will overspend on rental cars because of a lack of awareness and/or travel coordination). 8 Teams and Tournaments It s fun to have some friendly competitions on golf trips. One of the most powerful capabilities of GolfTripGenius.com is our GTG Tournament Engine. You can create any number of match play tournaments and medal (stroke) play tournaments. It is 13

particularly easy to create Ryder Cup tournaments. We define a Ryder Cup as two or more rounds played by two or more teams in any combination of four ball (best ball of partners), foursomes (alternate shot) and singles. The GTG Tournament Engine and the GTG Scheduler support 18- hole matches, 9 hole matches and rounds where you play two 9- hole matches by swapping partners within the foursome after 9 holes (but not for singles matches). You can assign points (bets) to tournaments in a single round, and/or for an overall result over several rounds, or to Ryder Cup type events. The teams tab is used to create teams and groups, which can then be used to organize tournaments. The real power of all this comes from the fact that the GTG Tournament Engine and the GTG Scheduler are tightly linked. When you instruct the Scheduler to create pairings, it first accesses the Tournament Engine to discover what the scheduling implications are of the tournaments. If you are playing by team in rounds 4, 5 and 6, then the Scheduler will assure that there are two players from one team in positions 1 and 2, and two players from another team in positions 3 and 4. If you specify AB pairings for a tournament, then at the moment that you create pairings, the Tournament Engine will determine who the A s and B s are, and obviously we do the same with ABCD. If you are playing ABCD in partner- based matches, we will insure that the A player is partnered with the D and the B player with the C. Whenever you play a tournament that is pair vs. foursome or pair vs. field, the partners are ALWAYS in positions 1 and 2, and in positions 3 and 4. If you specify 9+9 swap meaning that you want to switch partners within the foursome after 9 holes effectively having two separate matches, then the front 9 will be players 1 and 2 vs. 3 and 4, and the back nine will pit players 1 and 4 vs. players 2 and 3. By, players 1, 2, 3 and 4, we refer to their position on the scorecard. Likewise, when you play a singles tournament, it is ALWAYS the case that the player in position 1 plays against the player in position 3, and position 2 plays against position 4. With that as background, we can now state that if you specify AB, we will place the players in foursomes in A, B, A, B order. Thus, if you are playing a pairs based match, you will have an A and a B vs. an A and a B. If you are playing singles, you will an A vs. A and a B vs. a B. Teams are used for match play and for Ryder Cups. If you organize by teams for match play (which means that you have created teams in the Teams tab), the system will assure that there are two team members in positions 1 and 2, and 2 members from another team in positions 3 and 4. A Ryder Cup is over a set of chosen match play events, and these events must be organized by team. When you create teams, we refer to the collection of two or more teams as a team set. A team set does not need to include all of the players, but can include just a subset of the players. A tournament the uses a team set will only be scored over the 14

players in the team set. This is a very powerful feature when coupled with score by team roster and will be discussed further in this section. Besides creating teams, you can also create groups. When creating teams, you must have at least two teams, each team must have at least two members, and teams must be of the same size. A group, in contrast, is simply a list of players. Groups are used to create scheduling rules, but are also used to set up tournaments with just the members of the group participating. Tournaments over groups must be player vs. group format. Creating tournaments, teams and groups is done through the Tournament Manager tab on the navigation bar. The team tab is used to create and edit teams and groups. The set- up tab is used to create tournaments. Creating teams is done with our simple drag and drop interface. After you have created a team, you can change the team makeup by simply dragging players over each other: Setting up tournaments also uses a point and click interface. The best way to understand this capability it is to experiment with it. Below is the summary screen that shows all competitions on a sample trip. 15

Set- up of a Ryder Cup is done through a very simple interface in which you simply indicate in which rounds you wish to play four ball, singles or foursomes (alt- shot). Tournaments other than Ryder Cup are created by using our basic option or advanced option. The advanced option is used if the tournament involves teams or groups; or if you want to change the point table for Stableford, Quota, Birdies or Eagles tournaments; or if you wish to discard the worst holes or worst rounds from a competition. 16

After creating tournaments, simply click on perfect pairings/ update schedule. (We do not do this automatically because you may wish to add other rules directly. More about this in section 9 below.) One of the powerful features in the advanced option is the ability to score by team roster instead of the actual pairings. With this option, the tournament manager looks to the team rosters or definitions to determine who is on a team, instead of looking at the physical pairings. Consider the following example. In a group of 16, there is one round where someone cannot play and there will only be 15 players. They will be organized as three foursomes and one threesome. Define a teamset 17

with 3 teams of 5 players each. Then set up a tournament scored by team roster where the competition is team vs. team 3 best balls, for example. No matter what the actual pairings are for the round, the teams to be scored will be determined from the team rosters. For more details on tournaments, please see the Tournament Planning Guide available in the Download Center on our site. You will probably also want to download the Tournament cheat sheet; this provides a complete description of formats, competitions, etc. 9 Creating Pairings Another one of the powerful features of GolfTripGenius.com is the unique GTG Scheduler. All of the scheduling functions are accessed from the Perfect Pairings tab on the navigation bar. You can view/edit pairings, manage pairings rules, and update the schedule. When you selected update schedule, the GTG Scheduler in invoked to determine the best possible pairings, given the tournaments being played and the pairings rules supplied by the captain. Click on Perfect Pairings, then View/Edit Rules. Experiment using the rules to keep golfers in the same group in certain rounds, or spread golfers over the groups in other rounds (a rule is simply a statement such as in rounds 1 and 2, we want Joe and John to play in the same foursome). Specify who will not be playing certain rounds, and indicate that you would like certain golfers to play together a specific number of times during the trip. You can indicate that rounds should be organized by flight, AB or ABCD. If you ve defined teams, you can specify that the teams should be in the same foursome in a round or spread out across all of the groups in a foursome. These latter options (teams, flight, etc.) will normally be set as part of creating tournaments, but are include here for Basic Edition trips. All of the choices you specify (except having players together a specific number of times) are hard rules our pairings algorithm will enforce your instructions. However, the instruction that you would like certain golfers to play together a specific number of times is a best efforts computation and cannot be guaranteed because other rules might necessarily take precedence. When you click on Pairings, View/Edit Rules, you will be presented with the following page (what is shown here is simply an example of some rules): 18

Click on Add a Rule to add a new rule, and the following page will be presented: For each of the rule types except Manage Times Together you simply check off the rounds and the players to which the rule applies. In AB pairings, the A players are the 50% of the players with the lower handicaps. In ABCD pairing, the players are divided into 4 groups by handicap, with the A s being the lowest 25% of handicaps and the D s being the highest 25%. Each foursome will consist of one A player, one B, one C and one D. AB and ABCD are both methods for balancing the foursome so that each foursome has a mix of handicaps. Pairing by flight is just the opposite. The lowest 4 handicaps will be in a foursome, the next 4 lowest will be in a foursome, etc. 19

Keep players together means that we want certain players in the same foursome in some round ( Tom, Dick, Harry and Sam always play together in the first round on our annual trip ). Spread players apart is just the opposite. The players you specify will be spread out across all of the groups in the foursome. If there are 8 players and two foursomes, then if you spread 4 players out, there will be 2 in each group; if you spread 3 players out, there will be 2 in one group and 1 in the other group; if you spread 2 players out, there will be 1 in each group. If you know that some players will be missing from rounds, you should indicate this through the specify missing players rule. Perhaps a player is arriving late or leaving early, or does not plan to play 36 holes on Friday. The Scheduler will optimize around these missing players. Manage player times together provides a way to tell the Scheduler that you want 2 or more players to be together a certain number of times over all the rounds, but you don t care which rounds. Take the case of 8 players playing 6 rounds. Every player will play with four other players 3 times and three other players 2 times. That being the case, you might want to indicate that you want Tom and John to play together two times, and you want Tom and Jim to play together 3 times. If you have defined one or more teamsets, or groups, you will also have the option to keep together by team or group and spread apart by team. Consider a trip where there are 16 players divided into two teams of 8 players each. Keep together means that the players on team A will be in two foursomes and the players on team B will be in two foursomes. If you specify this for multiple rounds, the scheduler will mix up the rounds so that while team A players will be in two foursomes in each round, the two foursomes for team A will be different. Spread apart would result in two players from team A and two players from team B being in each foursome. After filling in the desired information using the tabs, click on the Create Schedule button on the right, and the following page will appear: 20

Here you have the opportunity to tell the Scheduler to leave certain rounds as they already are. Normally, you should let the Scheduler deal with all rounds, but there may be exceptions ( we always do round 7 this way ). The Scheduler accesses the Tournament Engine to see what rules are needed to support the tournaments you have selected (e.g., you re playing a Ryder Cup in rounds 3 and 4 so these rounds need to be organized by teams). Then, the GTG Scheduler will validate the rules that you have entered in Create Pairings. If there are errors, explanatory messages will appear and you can make corrections. If all is well, a message is sent to our servers, which perform the actual scheduling. The Scheduler will look at tens, and in many cases, hundreds of millions of possible schedules to find the one that is best given your specifications. Our Scheduler can generate about 10 million schedules per second, so in most cases, your pairings will be calculated in less than a minute. Once the Scheduler is finished computing, you will see the pairings. The captain has complete control as to when the pairings are viewable by other golfers. There is a button at the top of the view/edit pairings page that can be set to make the pairings viewable or hide them from golfers. Sometimes captains want o keep the pairing private until the final pairings are set. If the number of players in a round is a multiple of 4, then we will obviously create a set of foursomes. If the number of players is not a multiple of 4, then we will create threesomes and foursomes for the round, minimizing the number of threesomes. If you have 19 players, for example, we will create 4 foursomes and 1 threesome. If you have 13 players, we will create 1 foursome and 3 threesomes. There is one exception to the above. If the number of players in a round is even but not a multiple of 4 (e.g., 10 players), and you have created one or more tournaments for the round that are pair- based (e.g., best ball of pair vs. the field in stroke play) 21

we will create one twosome and the rest foursomes. Of course, you can override what the Scheduler does via Edit Pairings. While the Scheduler will produce the best mathematical schedule (everyone plays with everyone else about the same number of times, subject to rules set), there are cases where the captain will want to make changes and exert direct control. Simply click on the edit button in any round, and the following page will appear: Simply drag players over each other to exchange them, or drag a player to or from the Missing Players area to add or remove them from the round. As you make changes, you will see in real time the impact of the change on how many times each players is paired with every other player. 10 The Trip Book Most of what we have covered so far deals with the golf in group golf trips - GolfTripGenius.com provides world- class scheduling and tournament setup/scoring capability. The Trip Book is about the group in group golf trips. The captain creates a Trip Book. It brings together the system information such as tee sheets, tournament specs, scorecards and logistics, with pages created by the captain that can contain text or photos. The result of creating a Trip Book is a high quality PDF that can be viewed by all the golfers on the trip or ed to them. It is both a great 22

organizing tool with all information about the trip in one place and a great social document, with photos of players, photos from prior trips, etc. We provide templates for a number of different types of trip books, and you can create as many of each type as you wish. There is a template for a pre- trip book, a (post- trip) memory book, a daily report and a photo album. When you create a type of book, you will be able to include or not include various sorts of pages that GolfTripGenius.com will automatically generate for you (player profiles, scorecards, etc.). Besides this system level information, you can add text pages and photo pages using a very powerful photo composition tool. If you click on Social Scene / Trip Book from the navigation bar, you will be able to create a new trip book, view a trip book or edit an existing book. When you choose to create a new book or edit an existing one, you will be presented with the following page: The captain is presented with a default set of pages and ordering of these pages. The captain can uncheck pages to remove them and drag the boxes to change the order. Using the Actions button at the bottom, you can add a text page or a photo page. If you add a text page, you can edit and enter text using the text editor you will find on the page. If you add a photo page, you can add any number of photos from your 23

photo gallery, as well as any number of text boxes. The photos can be cropped and resized as desired. When you view a trip book, a pdf will be downloaded to your computer. You can save it and/or it. To see a sample trip book, please follow this link (this link is also on wwwgolftripgenius.com): Sample Trip Book 11 The Photo Gallery Associated with each trip is a photo gallery. A gallery consists of a number of albums. There is an album for your trip and an album of stock photos licensed GolfTripGenius.com for your use (at no cost). If you are a client of one of our affiliates, then there may also be an album supplied by the affiliate. Click on an album to see the photos in the album and to upload new photos. All golfers on a trip can upload photos to the album one of the benefits is that all of the photos taken by all golfers are in one place forever. A photo is owned by the golfer that uploaded it, and the owner control what can be done with the photo. The owner can let other golfers (on this trip) download the photo or share it on Facebook. The owner can also control whether or not the photo is part of the photo feed on the GolfTripGenius.com home page. Clicking on a photo displays the following page, where control can be exercised: 24

Whenever a photo is uploaded into a trip book, it is added to the trip album. Photos can also be directly loaded into album as described above. Once in album, the photos can be accessed from the trip book composition tool. 12 The Scorecard You ve set up tournaments and created great pairings. Now go and enjoy your golf. When you come off the course, you can access our scorecard application on GolfTripGenius.com and enter the scores for your group. The act of filling in the scorecards signals to the GTG Tournament Engine that results can be computed. The results are available through the Scoreboard tab. Our scorecard app is designed for extremely fast data entry. If you enter anything other than a 1 for a hole, you are immediately tabbed forward to the next hole for score entry. The application automatically computes front 9, back 9, and total. All gross to net calculations are performed by the GTG Tournament Engine as part of scoring (we store course details by hole in our course database). In our tests, it s easy to enter scores for 16 golfers in less than two minutes. 25

You can also use an ipad to enter scores. Launch Safari, sign in to and select scorecard. You will find a user interface specifically designed for the ipad. 13 The Leaderboard The Leaderboard, accessed from the Tournament Manager tab, provides all of the tournament results for tournaments partially or fully completed. For example, it you set up a Stableford low net over rounds 2 through 5, and you have completed rounds 1, 2, and 3, the Scoreboard will show results through round 3. When a scorecard is completely or partially filled in, it is deemed ready for tournament scoring. If you are playing a scramble or alt- shot round, the system will know this and deem the scorecard complete when it is appropriately filled in. If holes are missing (e.g., someone arrived late), the tournament will still be scored. When you mouse over the Tournament Manager tab, you will see four commands Set- up, Teams, Leaderboard and Point Summary. These are each shown below. The Leaderboard provides the details of each tournament in the format that you would expect for the tournament type, as well as a completed scorecard filled in appropriately for the type of tournament. Each completed or partially completed tournament shows all players, course handicaps, and tournament details. It will also show rank and points won. When you enter points in tournament set up, you enter points per winner, and the system extends that as necessary. For example if you set up a low net tournament for the first three rounds, and specify player vs. foursome, and there are three foursomes, then there are actually 3 time 3 (three foursomes over three rounds) or 9 winners. So, if you set the points at 100 for 1 st and 50 for 2 nd, then on the tournament summary you will see 1,350 points allocated to this tournament 150 points for each of three foursomes over three rounds. For many trips, each golfer places a certain amount into the pot and these points need to be 26

allocated to tournament. The tournament summary page will show all points allocated in the manner described here. There are a number of ways of awarding points winner takes all, pro rata to holes won, 1 st place, etc. You will see these as you set up the tournament. On the next page is a partial display of a leaderboard. The display varies based on the type of tournament (e.g., what is shown below is a Stableford round). You can print the tournament results by clicking the print button on the Leaderboard page. Like all print functions in GolfTripGenius.com, we generate a PDF file to be printed, saved, ed, etc. It is only when you click on Leaderboard that the system does the necessary calculations. You can change golfer indexes, you can change previously completed scorecards, you can even make corrections to pairings (e.g., John got hung up and missed his tee time, so you swapped John and Bob), and you can add, change or delete tournaments. The system simply gathers up all the current information, does the necessary calculations (including all gross to net calculations) and displays results. You can do what if analyses after the trip is over. Just add tournaments and click Leaderboard. Your trip is never deleted from GolfTripGenius.com, so you can even come back a year later when you are planning the next trip, and analyze last year s trip. 27

You can also select point summary from the Tournament Manager tab. This presents a concise summary of winnings by player by event. We should note that points are automatically allocated to all winners in an event. If you set up a best 2 balls of foursome vs. the field, and the pot is 100 points, then 25 points will be allocated to each player in the foursome. If you are playing a four ball match for 100 points, 50 points will be allocated to each of the winning partners. In the example below, each of 8 players contributed $200 to the pot, and you can see that the total points allocated was 1,

Besides the leaderboard and the point summary, GolfTripGenius.com also tracks statistics for each player. The system tracks birdies, pars, bogies, etc. for each round for each player. Statistics are accessed from the Scorecards tab on the navigation bar. Statistics are shown first aggregated over all rounds, and are also available on a round by round basis by clicking the twisties. Statistics and the Point Summary can be printed by clicking on the Print button. 14 The GTG Trip Accountant The GTG Trip Accountant is both powerful and practical, and you will find it worthwhile to take it for a test drive. We know it will save you lots of time and aggravation. You can easily practice by adding expenses to see how it works, and then delete the expenses. The GTG Trip Accountant is designed to handle all the various types of expense issues faced by Captains. Some examples might be: You paid the deposit for everyone, and the deposit should be allocated pro rata back to all golfers. Sam rented a car but used it after the trip to visit relatives. He should individually pay $150 of the cost, but the rest can be fairly allocated pro rata to the others who all benefited from use of the car. Sam paid for dinner Friday night, but Bob and Mike did not attend. The dinner costs should be allocated pro rata to everyone except Bob and Mike. Mike always orders rare single malts before and after dinner. He should be allocated a larger share of the bar tabs. Neil bought a shirt in the pro shop, but the expense somehow ended up on the master account. Allocate the expense only to Neil. 29

Monies meant for trip competitions can be deposited up front and allocated as bets are settled. The GTG Trip Accountant is available only in the Genius Edition. 15 Summary If a picture s worth a thousand words, a movie might be worth a million. We suggest that you review the GolfTripGenius.com web site, watch the short videos, then hit the Sign Up button. Create your own sample golf trip and experiment. We hope you will agree that GolfTripGenius.com can make great golf trips even better! Please help us improve this Guide by sending your feedback, along with any questions to support@golftripgenius.com. 30
