First of all thanks to all the members that partook in the Club s first monthly Family Fun Golf Day on Sunday, April 29th. There were over 50 members & family members that enjoyed a casual outing at the Club. Feedback was very positive and we have scheduled this as a monthly event for the balance of the season. A schedule is available on the website calendar of events. The Board is introducing a special guest rate for members to bring out their guests on Monday s & Thursday s. The guest rate for Monday s & Thursday s for this year will be $ In addition the Club is offering a discount for a pre-purchase of Monday & Thursday guest passes through the sale of booklets. These are available in books of 5 passes for $180 plus HST or 10 passes for $350 plus HST. They can be purchased through the Pro Shop or at the office. The passes have an expiry date of September 30, After that date, they will be honoured as a credit to a future guest fee; the holder would just pay the difference between the value of the pass and the guest fee rate at time of redemption. The dining room,, has its own website that provides more detailed information for dining at the Club. The website will be open for viewing next week at It will also be linked to the Club s website. In the clubhouse, Laurie Shong has been busy taking pictures of member s for our Point-of-Sales system. These pictures are loaded into our system (only) to assist staff in identifying members when they place an order (when a member s number is entered into the terminal their picture shows on the screen). If we don t have your picture, Laurie would like to connect with you for a photo op. The golf course has been pounded with rain again this spring. The crew completed the greens aeration (barely; having to do the back nine in the rain). The greens did come out of the winter well and are healthy to start the season. The crew will now be working on other projects such as cart path maintenance and areas damaged by the excessive water. Our membership recruitment campaign is underway with ads running in the Vancouver Sun newspaper. If you have any friends or acquaintances interested in membership, have them get in touch with Laurie Shong or Mike Pierce. Now if the sun will shine we can all get out and play some golf. Also consider purchasing one of our Monday & Thursday guest pass booklets and bring some friends out to the Club! Page 1
