5 Sweet Times November 2015 Page 05 News from the Exercise Facility Our workout center continues to improve. We have just added a BoFlex Treadclimber to the facility. This a very nice piece of equipment. It's a combination of a treadmill, a stair climber, and an elliptical for an easy, low-impact workout with high-impact results. We were able to make this purchase with donations from the board of directors, from Bruce Julin and his fish fry crew and Russell Reints and his cart maintenance crew. A big THANK YOU to all involved. Two of the cables have been replaced on the Weider weight machine. A couple of more will need to be replaced in the near future. Please remember to return all equipment to the zero settings, un-hook the Bo-Flex power rods, and return all weights to the proper area, upon completion of your work out. If you have any issues or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Thank you, Perry Harkness ATTENTION CARPORT SALE PARTICIPANTS If you want to donate unwanted items that have not sold in your yard sale, you may leave them in your carport and Gil will pick up anything you would like to donate to the annual yard sale. A new policy regarding firearms will state no security volunteer can have a firearm while on duty. Ruth- Checked with SWFWMD regarding the water level and it is ' right now. On November 3rd at 2:00 PM in the Clubhouse there will be a meeting to schedule activities for the coming year. Larry Bearfield said yes if needed we could go back to using reclaimed water. We also have 2 wells that we are not currently using, one by #13 and one by the maintenance department.

12 Page 12 Judy Fournier 131 Victoria thanked everyone for the clean up at the garden area and stated they (garden owners) have a lot invested in the gardens, not just time but money as well. It is a shame to have someone steal their crops. Pam Erickson 34 Edinburgh said the gardens look good, but there is one in very bad shape, it is a large garden filled with trash and unkempt. This garden is being addressed. Also as she walks past the maintenance department she smells the WWTP with a very bad odor. Larry Bearfield said they have tried a couple of things and will look into this again. Cheryl Wald 259 Ramsgate the firearm policy should include CAP also. Thanks to Jawna Reints for power washing the furniture and blocks at the dog park. There needs to be some trimming of plantings along marina road. Ruth Freer stated that the maintenance department will be cutting them to the ground and then try to control the growth. Ardith Lynch 65 Straphmore said there is water behind her house the water sits there all the time. It has been a problem forever. Ruth Freer said Ben Wheatley is working on a solution. Cars and carts parked out front of the community does not look well. Ruth Freer stated they cannot park on Sweetwater property, but have no control over the empty lot next door. Barbara Poe 298 Townbridge said the water in her house is smelly. When showering and the drinking water smells like rotten eggs. Larry Bearfield said there was a small problem with the chlorine pump not working correctly and they switched water tanks. A recommendation is to empty your hot water tank and refill. The pool temperature feels like it is cooling down and Bruce Julin responded and said he was told that too and checked the temperature and it is reading 87 degrees. Karen Shimp 123 Victoria wants to remind everyone of the carport sale on November 14th. There is a $3.00 donation to cover cost of advertising and printing of the maps. Drop within two club lengths of point ball crossed the canal, one stroke penalty. (Taken from Golf Course Rules & Regulations - Revised - January, page 12 under "Rules for Specific Holes". 23 Page 23 NEWS from the Golf Board!!! Four positions are available on the Golf Board. The term is for 2 years. Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month except for the months of June, July, August & September. We run approximately tournaments a year and disperse money collected from tournaments, used golf balls, sign sponsorship etc. to keep our course in the best possible condition as well as making improvements. We work with the BOD, Pro Shop and Jason Morris - Golf Course Superintendent as well as handle any comments or concerns from the residents. It actually can be a lot of fun! Come out and make a difference. If you would like to run for the Golf Board, nominations for election to the Board will be taken from the floor at the annual meeting which is on November 3 2:00 p.m. in the Library. Sweetwater has a program for Golf Course Hole Sponsorship. The cost is $ per year and will be pro-rated depending on the month you choose to participate. The annual fees are due in April of each year. You choose your design and verbiage. Partner up with a neighbor or friend to share the cost! The proceeds go right back into the golf course. Sorry....Sponsorship can not been done In Memory Of. Please see Kay Sevison or any Golf Board Member for more information....or... information is on channel 95, Sweet Times, Pro Shop, Clubhouse & Pub! Hitting to the green on #7 is considered a 1 stroke penalty from ALL the tees. Please review the Sweetwater Rules...under section Rules for Specific Holes, page 12, Hole #7. "No hitting directly to green: ANY TEE shot hit over the canal is out of bounds. Drop within two club lengths of point ball crossed the canal, one stroke penalty. This also means that even if you bounce it off the cart path, the fence, boards, or anything and it crosses over the canal, you MUST bring your ball back over the canal as it is out of bounds and take your penalty. The "back nine" opened up in September and the new greens and the 14 fairway look great and are now playable during wet conditions. We would like to Thank the BOD who had the grit to make the difficult decision to redo 7 of the back 9 greens. The results will be more playability thus leading to increased golf revenue. Kudos to Jason and his crew!! We have had numerous compliments on them. The greens will be firm for the first few years so approach shots will be a little more difficult to hold the green. Please be patient. Please report any issues with the equipment on the golf course to the Golf Board, Pro Shop or the BOD. Thank you, Gwen Julin, Golf Board Secretary

25 Page 25 SWEETWATER MARINA GAZEBO FANS!! I would like to thank Charlie Grisdale for his assistance in helping me replace 2 ceiling fans in the gazebo at the marina. We have upgraded the lounge chairs from 14" to 16" high so it is easier to get up and down off the lounger. The umbrellas are also made of a marine grade sunbrella material and the crank handles will make taking the umbrella up and down so much easier. "REMEMBER...
