Cooperation includes a polite attitude toward the veterinarian or his/her appointee. 2. The owner, trainer and exhibitor are responsible for a horse's condition and must be familiar with the regulations concerning prohibited substances. 3. Notification of the redistribution of awards shall be published in the Miniature Horse World and by mail to the recipients of such awards as soon as possible after the determination by the Hearing Board. 6. To offset the costs of drug testing, a fee of $10.00 per horse entered shall be charged by the AMHA. The Board of Directors as needed may revise this fee for future World Championship Shows. 7. Collection of samples for drug testing at the 2017 World Championship Show will be supervised and completed by the veterinarian staff of Dr. Wayne Howell. In the event he or she is unwilling or unable to do so, the trainer/owner is urged to appoint an agent to serve as witness to these procedures. Failure to witness these procedures, and/or failure to appoint an agent to do so, precludes a trainer/owner from subsequently challenging the identity of the horse from which samples were collected, or the procedures employed in collecting, labeling, or sealing the samples. Judging System The World Championship Show will use teams of three AMHA carded judges on each panel, all of whom were approved by the Licensed Officials Committee. All three of the judges cards/scores will be used to determine class winners. If a tie results, the call judges placing will be used to break all 13

ties. If a tie still results from the first call judge s card, the tabulation moves to the second call judge, then third until all ties have been resolved. Three of the judges will be selected to judge all Youth classes, three will judge the Amateur Classes, World Championship Hunter Futurity and some Specialty Classes, and remaining three judges will adjudicate all Open Classes, the World Championship Driving Futurities, and the balance of the Specialty Classes. The Halter Futurity classes will be judged by three judges (two from the Amateur Panel and one from the Open Panel). For computer tabulation horses placing under each judge will receive the following points: 1st place - 10 points 2nd place - 9 points 3rd place - 8 points 4th place - 7 points 5th place - 6 points 6th place - 5 points 7th place - 4 points 8th place - 3 points 9th place - 2 points 10th place - 1 point All classes will be judged once using the computer accumulated tabulation system, mentioned in the paragraph above. Futurity Judging System The World Championship Futurities will use a team of three judges. Computer tabulations of judges' cards will be the only method used to determine winners. Scores earned by each horse from the three tallying judges will be added together to give the total score for each horse/exhibitor. The call judges' placing will be used to break all ties. If a tie still results from the first call judge's card, the tabulation moves on t o the second call judge, then the third call judge, etc. until all ties are resolved and the horses/exhibitors placed. Class results and tabulations will be posted for exhibitor/spectator review as soon after judging as possible. For computer tabulation placings, see "Judging System. Additional breaks or rescheduling of breaks will be announced as deemed proper according to the progress of the show. However, IN NO CASE will sessions start earlier than scheduled within the show class list. There will be no refunds for missed classes. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be on the grounds and ready to show on t he day and time of his or her scheduled classes (GR-045-B). The Show 14

Manager will be the sole person authorized to schedule breaks. Split Classes Class splits for Halter Classes will be determined at the discretion of the Show Manager; however, it is mandatory that all halter classes be split at forty-five (45). Ref: WS-025 B. Driving classes will be split by show management for safety according to the class involved and show arena size. Show management will also determine the number of driving horses each judge should select, from each class split, to return for the class finals. Refer to AMHA Show Rules CL-030-E and WS-025-C. If final run is immediately after the splits, the paddock master will separate and send Split A into the ring followed by Split B with the two-minute gate rule being strictly enforced. The horses in each split will be posted at least one (1) hour prior to the class. Split classes will be divided at random by a computer. NOTE: All horses must compete in the split assigned and posted from the computer print out. Horses violating this mandate may be disqualified from competing in the class. Note: At the discretion of the AMHA Show Management the Final Go of any split driving class may be shown at a later time in the show, but will be held on the same day of the original class Order of Go At the discretion of the management of the World Championship and Championship Shows, random go orders may be generated by the computer for judging any classes, both performance and halter. Reference: WS-027. In each class where individual work occurs (Liberty, Hunter, Jumper, Obstacle Driving, Halter Obstacle, etc.) the computer will be used to randomly create an order of go for the class. Exhibitors should obey the established order of go and be at the gate ready for exhibiting their horse when their number is called by the Paddock Master. Order of go for all Futurity classes will be posted by 9:00 P.M. the evening prior to the class. Two-Minute Gate The two-minute gate rule (GR-045-B) will be followed. Holding Area/Make-up Ring Located near the show ring there are holding areas/make-up rings available before each class. Entries must be ready to compete no less than five (5) minutes before the end of the previous class. Prepare handlers as needed to insure your entries are in the holding area/make-up ring before each class. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted in the holding areas/make-up rings. Tack Changes A maximum time period of three minutes after the completion of the preceding class will be allowed for tack changes. Tack changes MUST BE REQUESTED IN ADVANCE or the two-minute gate rule (GR-045-B) will apply. All tack changes must be made in the holding area/make-up ring and must be pre-scheduled with the Paddock Master. All equipment needed to make the change must be brought to the holding area/make-up ring. Multiple Hitch Classes-Judging Time A time estimate for judging the multiple hitch classes may be made each day they are scheduled. These classes will be judged as close to this time as possible and may be moved within the class schedule. 15

Measuring It is mandatory for all exhibitors to present either the original or a color photocopy (both sides) of their horse's AMHA registration papers to the Official Measurer at the World Championship Show. Any horse not having such registration identification available for the Official Measurer's examination will not be measured and thus, not permitted to exhibit at the World Championship Show. There will be a $20 fee for any copies of Registration papers requested from the AMHA office. All Horses Must Be Measured or present a valid Regional or Permanent measuring card. For 2017, yearling, two-year-old and senior horses will be eligible for the Regional measuring card. The Measuring Officials will supervise measurements. Measuring will take place in a d esignated area of Cattle Barn 2. Rules GR-020 and WS-028 will be followed. Note: Measuring Policies AMHA will video all measuring. After the horse is set up for measuring by the handler, said handler may not touch horse, i.e. stretching head up/forward; moving feet; touching back or pressing down on any part of the back until the measurer removes the measuring stick. Ref: GR-020-E Also present at measuring for Championship and World Championship Shows will be an AMHA measuring observer who will be responsible for viewing all measuring and informing measurer of any problems with the stance of the horse being measured. Measuring officials will be present for measuring on: Thursday, August 24-9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 25-9:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26 - Sunday, August 27-8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 28 Tuesday, August 29-8:00 a.m. to noon Wednesday, August 30 - Friday, September 1 By Appointment Only (Schedule with Show Office) LUNCH BREAKS - Noon - 1:00 P.M. DINNER BREAKS - 4:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. All horses must be measured during these hours. All horses arriving after Friday, August 25 must be measured the day before competing in their first class. Refer to sections GR-020 and WS-028 in the AMHA Official Rule Book for measuring information. A measuring stick as outlined in GR-020-B will be used for measuring. SHOW RULES CLARIFICATIONS Show Rules Clarification of GR-050 Protests After research and review, the 2009 Show Rules Committee has unanimously agreed on the following interpretation of GR-050. T he AMHA 2009 B oard of Directors voted in agreement with the Show Rules Committee in December of E ffective January 1, 2010 t he following paragraph will be strictly adhered to. Show Rules Clarification of GR-050 Protests: An AMHA horse that does not measure within required height constraints for its age group at a show 23

cannot be protested in attempt for further measurement to enter the show. GR-050 pertains to horses in a show and does not apply to horses that do not meet qualification. Under GR-050 horses that have qualified and been accepted in a show can only be protested one time, per show, for a height challenge. Show Rules Committee Clarification of GR-020 At every AMHA Sanctioned Show GR-020 must be posted at the measuring site with a qualifying statement as follows: The Official Show Measurer will not attempt to measure the horse until the handler has set the horse, per Show Rule GR-020, and is positioned near the horse, in a kneeling or standing position, not touching the horse with any part of his/her body, and advises the measurer the horse is ready to be measured. The Official Measurer will then attempt to measure the horse. D uring the measuring process, if the handler touches the horse, the attempt to measure will be stopped, and the handler will be advised the horse cannot be touched during the measuring process. PROCEDURES FOR MEASURING CARDS FOR SENIOR HORSES AT REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWS. 1. The AMHA Office shall provide measurement cards (a different color for each championship show) to Championship Show Management. 2. At measuring, each yearling, two-year-old and senior horse requesting a measurement card for the World Show shall have one completed by the measuring staff based on the measurement at that Championship Show. (This includes yearlings and two-year-olds for 2017 only.) 3. Measurements will also be made on the Official Height List which will be mailed to AMHA at the conclusion of the show. 4. Before receiving their number, exhibitors with horses with Senior Measurement Cards must bring the horse to the measuring area with a copy of its registration papers and coggins and health papers to have the horse checked against the papers by the measuring team and to be logged into the measurement book. T he horses will step onto the measuring platform and their back number and recorded height will be announced and recorded by the camera and on the log sheet. The measurement team will "sign off" on the card as having seen the appropriate papers and health requirements and the exhibitor can take the card to the office for their number. 5. Loss of your measurement card will require that you be re-measured at the AMHA World Show. AMHA Booth Visit the AMHA Booth in the Richardson-Bass Building inside the John Justin Show Arena. 27 2017 will mark the fifth year of the Two-Year-Old Futurity. Nominated two-year-olds being exhibited only in the Futurity classes are NOT required to be qualified for any World Show Championship Class also marks the fourth year of the Weanling Sweepstakes classes. Amateur & AOTE Futurity This year will be our fifteenth Futurity for AOTE yearling classes and the seventh for Amateur yearling classes. The rules are similar, (class size determines the amount of money going into each class) as in the Open Futurity classes. There will be one class EACH for yearling mares, stallions and geldings. For the AOTE division, these yearlings are to be owned, trained and exhibited by the qualified amateur owner (AOTE RULES APPLY) as of January 1, 2017 a nd each year thereafter. For the Amateur division, these yearlings must be shown by a qualified amateur owner as of January 1, 2017 and each year thereafter. P lease note: Y ou must have a valid AMHA Amateur card to show in either the Amateur or AOTE Futurity. For a yearling to be shown in 2017, the sire must have been nominated by December 31, 2015 for them to be eligible. All foals from nominated sires will be eligible for their Open, Amateur or AOTE Futurity class. No horse may cross-enter the Open, Amateur and AOTE classes. Weanling Sweepstakes 2017 marks the fourth year of the Weanling Sweepstakes Program. Two open classes and one amateur class will be offered on Wednesday evening. Halter & Performance Futurity Checks The checks awarded the day(s) of the Futurity classes will be non-negotiable and for photo purposes only. The amount of each display check will be based on horses entered in the classes at the time entries close. The actual checks may be different (based on the number of horses actually competing in the classes at the World Show). The Request for Payment form attached to the back of the non-negotiable check must be filled out and left at the AMHA booth or mailed to AMHA headquarters in order for payment to be made. Checks will be mailed within 30 days after the closing of the World Show. Gelding Incentive Fund Cash prizes will be awarded based on the order of finish of nominated Geldings in each of the twentyseven purely Gelding classes offered at the World Show. Classes will no longer be combined. Visit the Gelding Incentive page online at for the list of specific GIF classes. Please note that some Open Division classes are now eligible for the GIF. Geldings that have not been nominated for the GIF may also compete in these classes for World Show titles. However, only nominated Geldings will be eligible to receive GIF awards. Geldings may be nominated for GIF by submitting the approved AMHA form found in the premium or online with a non-refundable $50 nomination fee at anytime up to the close of entries (July 25, 2017) for the World Show. Nominations postmarked after the close of entries will be accepted up to the start of the first official class of the World Show for a non-refundable late nomination fee of $100. A single fee nominates the gelding for any and all GIF classes in which he is entered. All nomination fees are included in the GIF payout fund and are not specified by class or division. 26

For payouts, the GIF fund will be allocated to Youth (15%), Amateur/AOTE (42.5%) and Open (42.5%). A total payout per class is calculated based on the number of classes in the division. The class payout amount will then be proportionately distributed to the top six nominated Geldings per their order of finish in the class provided they place within the top ten of the class. Nominated Geldings not placing in the top ten are ineligible to receive GIF awards. Therefore, it is possible that fewer than six places will be paid for a class. Any undistributed payouts will be returned to the GIF fund for distribution the following year. A nominated horse exhibited by a youth must be owned by that youth or an immediate family member as defined in YD-010-C. All YOTE rules apply to be eligible YOTE class.
