Davidson (Chairman), T. J. Vassallo & D. R. McLean (10u2b) Supplementary Report: MURRUMBIDGEE TURF CLUB- Monday 26 January 2015 Race 2 Maiden Plate 1300m: Trainer Mr P. Morgan advised Stewards that Stats Big Bro, which was eased out of this event, had been diagnosed with a suspected fracture to the pelvic area. Mr Morgan advised the gelding would be given 6 weeks of box rest before undergoing another veterinary examination, with the results of the examination being forward to the Stewards. General Following a stable visit on Wednesday 4 February 2015, Trainer Mr R. Coulton was fined $200 under AR178F for failing to keep an updated record of treatment for horses under his care. RACE 1: Maiden Plate 1000m: Decisive Moment Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages. Paravidya Bumped on two occasions near 900m. Realcassin Lost ground shortly after the start when steadied away from the heels of Shape Up, which was carried outwards by Aunty Elsie. Roses So Red Raced wide without cover throughout. Returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer Mr W. Nichols was advised the filly was now barred from racing for a period of three months under the provisions of AR53A(4) Shape Up Returned with a laceration to the near hind. Sidewise Bumped on two occasions near 900m. RACE 2: Benchmark 65 Handicap 1400m: Speckie Slow to begin. Justiceforall Over raced in the early stages.

2 Arkansas Slow to begin. Rider stated he had anticipated taking up a leading position but when his mount was slow to begin he settled at the tail of the field. He added the gelding failed to travel at any stage of the event and did not respond when pressured in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not detect any abnormalities. My Southern Slew Over raced in the early and middle stages. When questioned rider stated she was aware of tempo of the event in the middle stages, adding she did attempt to restrain the gelding but it refused to come back under her. RACE 3: Maiden Handicap 1175m: Jarstad Lad Over raced in the early stages and raced greenly in the straight. Porridge Raced greenly in the straight and shifted out on two occasions when pressured passing the 300m. Kalamata Miss B. Ward replaced J. Kissick as rider of mare. J.Kissick was fined $100 under AR175(k) for negligently accepting two rides in the race. Bumped on jumping. Held up and unable to improve from 300m until 200m. Near the 600m was steadied and shifted outwards to avoid the heels of Miss Conceived. Peneletone Checked near 500m when crowded between Pink Piper and Nariel Dash, which shifted out. Senate Raced wide throughout. Speedshow Bumped on jumping. Rider stated he was instructed to settle mid-field but after being slightly slow to begin his mount took up a rearward position.. He added the gelding did not travel well at any stage and despite tacking on to the main body of the field on straightening it failed to run on. A post-race veterinary examination did not detect any abnormalities. Tom Karrooz Checked when crowded to the inside of Izzy Squizzy near 200m. N. Souquet pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in the near the 200m he did permit Izzy Squizzy to shift in when insufficiently clear of Tom Karrooz, which was checked. N. Souquet s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Tuesday 10 February 2015 and to expire on Monday 16 February 2015, on which day he may ride. Amber Mizz Hung outwards rounding home turn. RACE 4: Benchmark 65 Handicap 1175m: Lateandknewit Shifted out noticeably under pressure in the straight. Trainer Mr K. Hanley was advised an official warning would now be placed against the gelding. Get s Better Rider R. Bensley was reprimanded under AR137(A)(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip in a forehand manner on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted under the Rules. Aupose Raced wide throughout. Chatrang Slow to begin. RACE 5: Benchmark 60 Handicap 2000m:

3 Arctic Grey Steadied when disappointed for a doubtful run to the inside of Charting passing 400m. Rider Ms E. Webster-Hawes(a) was advised to be more selective when looking for runs in the future. Iceconi Bumped near 400m. Charting When questioned regarding horse racing forward today, rider J. Duffy stated he was instructed to be positive out of the barriers and try to take up a forward position as the horse is very one paced. He added after beginning well the gelding found the lead without urging and was able to enjoy a soft run in front. He added after straightening the gelding weakened noticeably. Trainer Mr B. Cavanough confirmed the instructions were to try and go forward and even with no obvious pace in the event he expressed surprise the gelding was able to obtain the lead. A post-race veterinary examination found gelding to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Mr Cavanough was advised that Charting must barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards, and a veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG, must be produced before the horse would be permitted to race again. Mr Cavanough advised Stewards the horse would be retired. Al s Choice- Raced wide throughout. Farigo Deano Bumped near 400m. RACE 6: Class 1 & Maiden Plate 1600m: Big Spin Slow to begin (3L). Clovelly Hill Hung inwards throughout. Became badly unbalanced after striking the running rail heavily near the 1000m. Mahonga Hung out badly throughout, placing the rider at a distinct disadvantage for the majority of the event. Ms E. Longmire, representing Trainer Mr G. Spackman was advised the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before it would be permitted to race again. Wild Win Near 300m was steadied away from heels of Moretales, which was weakening. Prato Raced very keenly in the early and middle stages and for some distance after 1200m was continually steadied away from the heels of Wild Win. Cloverleaf Trainer Mr K. Davison was fined $200 under AR140B for the late notification of the removal of winkers from the gelding. Tuan B. Murphy replaced R. Bensley (indisposed) as rider. Moretales Over raced in the early and middle stages. Sweet Duchess Underwent a veterinary examination at barriers following a request from its rider Y. Ichikawa, and was found fit to race. When rider continually expressed his concern with action of the mare and also his reluctance to ride it, Sweet Duchess was declared a late withdrawal by order of the Stewards at 5.04pm. A post-race veterinary examination did not detect any abnormalities.

4 Irish Invitation Withdrawn by Stewards at 5.05pm when it was unable to be loaded into the barriers. As trainer Mr W. Carroll was not on course and as the filly has had several recent barrier issues, Stewards will interview Mr Carroll at Wagga Wagga races on Monday 9 February 2015, relative to his plans for the filly, before Stewards make a determination if any action should be taken against Irish Invitation. In regards to betting Stewards ordered all monies invested on Sweet Duchess and Irish Invitation be refunded and all successful wagers placed prior to 5.04pm to be paid less the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket: 1 st ) Briars Ballad- 5 cents win, 5 cents place 2 nd )Mahonga- 6 cents place 3 rd ) Tuan- 6 cents place Further Stewards order all successful wagers placed between 5.04pm and 5.05pm be paid less the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket: 1 st ) Briars Ballad- 3 cents win, 3 cents place 2 nd )Mahonga- 3 cents place 3 rd ) Tuan- 3 cents place RACE 7: Class 2 Handicap 1400m: Wangtucky Rein Protested against Beasty Boy being declared the winner alleging inference over the final 400m. The evidence before the Stewards found that near the 200m the horses came together after both runners shifted some ground. As Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had this interference not occurred Wangtucky Rein would have beaten Beasty Boy to the line, the objection was dismissed. Dragon Head Withdrawn by Stewards at 5.46pm when it was unable to be loaded into the barriers. As the gelding had not been fitted with a barrier blanket, which is part of its approved gear, no direct action was taken, although Trainer Ms J. McCusker was advised an official warning would be placed on the gelding s barrier manners. With Imagination Raced keenly in the early stages. Got its head up when awkwardly placed on heels of Lingering near 900m. Steadied when disappointed for a run passing 300m. Alice From Albury Trainer advised from wide barrier they would attempt to ride from back in field and attempt to obtain cover. Settled worse than midfield. Spine Schiller Bumped on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Vanishing Card Permission was given to D. Caboche(a) to claim 2 kilograms of his 3 kilogram allowance. Apprentice Caboche was fined $100 under LR70. Littledoubtaboutit Raced wide throughout. Lingering Ms A. Masters replaced R. Bensley as rider. Bumped on jumping. Rhythmic Chimes Withdrawn by Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 5.45pm after it became fractious in the barriers. Trainer Mr D. Dale was advised the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before it would be permitted to race again.
