Murphy (Sunset Hills), A. Badger (Summers Day) 7 M. McGuren (Field of Fire) RACE 1: Open Handicap 1516m Champagne Rock Bumped rounding the home turn. Moon and Stars Laid out in the early part of the straight. Unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages when awkwardly placed on heels. A post race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormality. November Grey Bumped rounding the home turn. RACE 2: Maiden Plate 1400m: Benicstress Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. Near the 500m was momentarily eased when awkwardly placed on heels. Crazy Love Inclined to overrace in the early stages. Island Sunset Slow to begin. Pulled between the 1000m and 500m. Near the 200m and 50m was obliged to ease in around heels to continue to improve. Men Only - Bumped on jumping. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Near the 200m was eased when momentarily tightened for room. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Mister Maker Bumped on jumping. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Jockey Ms T. Harrison advised that her mount failed to travel strongly at any stage of the event on the firm track conditions and as it failed to respond to pressure rounding the home turn she did not test it down the straight. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Trainer Ms 1

2 C. Inwood was advised that a warning would be placed on the competitiveness of the gelding. Obsessions When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of the gelding trainer Mr C. O Reilly stated that the gelding was third up today after a lengthy spell. Mr O Reilly stated that the gelding was obliged to race wide on a heavy track first up and its second up run had pleased him. Mr O Reilly stated that he was of the opinion that the event was not particularly strong and added the gelding was able to lead on dry track conditions which is beneficial around the Lismore circuit. Rougissante Began awkwardly.. Sacred Water Slow to begin. The Gunslinger Declared a late scratching by order of stewards, acting on veterinary advice, at 2.34pm after the gelding was found to be lame in the near fore leg. Stewards ordered that all wagers on the gelding be refunded and that all successful wagers placed with bookmakers prior to 2.34pm be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket, 4 cents the win and 6 cents the place for 1st (Obsessions), 4 cents the place for 2nd (Naughty Corner) and 6 cents the place for 3 rd (Legal Stature). Trainer Mr S. Everson was advised that the gelding requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to his next race start. RACE 3: Maiden Handicap 1200m: Airhead (NZ) Laid out over the final 200m. Dancing Vagabond Trainer Mr G. Cornish was fined $200 for failing to report that the gelding had undergone a wind operation since its last start (AR140A). Slow to begin and steadied when tightened between runners shortly after. Raced greenly in the early stages. Dixie Away Began awkwardly and ran out abruptly shortly after the start. Trainer Mr D. Graham was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the colt. Good Maneuver Hung severely in the middle stages and rounding the home turn. Inclined to hang out down the straight. Trainer Mr D. Bowen was advised that the mare is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start. Miss Sminker Hampered shortly after the start. Much Deeper Eased when awkwardly placed on heels passing the 800m. Shifted out near the 200m. Pretty Snitzel Slow to begin (2L). Rounding the first turn laid in, bumped the running rail and lost ground (2L). Near the 500m laid in away from another runner and was eased. 2

3 Princess Devine Steadied when carried out abruptly shortly after the start. Raced greenly over the final 100m. Redaktor Bumped and carried wider shortly after the start. Near the 800m was bumped and carried wider. Saga Del Mar Began awkwardly. Raced greenly in the early stages. Sun Hawk As R. Wiggins was incorrectly declared stewards permitted Ms C. Schmidt to replace him as the rider of the mare. Slow to begin. The Big Le Boomski Checked when tightened for room shortly after the start. Yeah the Boys Eased when tightened between runners shortly after the start. Carried wide rounding the home turn. RACE 4: Class 2 Handicap 1516m: Australian Art Unable to improve between the 500m and 400m when held up on heels. Caught a Cracker Inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages. Carried wider near the 150m. Greselin Inclined to overrace approaching and rounding the first turn. Unable to improve between the 500m and entrance to the straight when held up on heels. Passing the 200m was obliged to ease out around heels to continue to improve. Heavenly Dancer Passing the 800m was steadied after improving into insufficient racing room. Eased when disappointed for a run at the entrance to the straight. Unable to be fully tested from this point until obtaining clear running near the 200m. Neomagic Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Outback Carlson Blundered badly on jumping. Tonna Power Trainer Mr M. Butler was issued a reprimand for failing to declare J. Taylor as the rider of the gelding by the prescribed time (LR35). In assessing penalty stewards appreciated that this is the first time Mr Butler has offended in this manner and mitigating circumstances surrounding the offence. Inclined to overrace in the early stages. Carried wider near the 150m. RACE 5: Class 3 Handicap 2100m: Altovise (NZ) Declared a late scratching by order of stewards, acting on veterinary advice, at 12.15pm after the mare was found to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer Ms D. Newham was advised that the mare requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to its next race start. Gotta Goodie Eased when tightened for room passing the 600m. 3

4 Kazan Approaching the winning post on the first occasion was steadied after pulling its way inside heels. Bumped near the 200m. McGill (NZ) Began awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Muntij Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Regularity Raced wide in the middle stages. Restricted When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey M. McGuren stated that his mount was up 600m in distance today and attempting the 2100m journey for the first time. M. McGuren added his mount was inclined to travel keenly in the early stages and between the 1100 and 800m he was obliged to continually ease his mount when racing in restricted room. M. McGuren added after failing to settle and enjoy a comfortable run in the early and middle stages his mount failed to run out the distance and was disappointing in its run to the line. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be mildly lame in the near fore leg. Trainer Mr D. Bowen was advised that the gelding requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to its next race start. So Hot Between the 1100m and 900m was continually eased when awkwardly placed inside the heels of Restricted which was continually eased when awkwardly placed inside the heels of Kazan. Apprentice M. Murphy (Kazan) was issued a reprimand and advised he is to relieve the pressure in similar circumstances (AR137(a)). Splendid Stryker Inclined to overrace rounding the first turn. Unable to improve approaching and rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Bumped near the 200m. Shifted out under pressure over the final 200m. RACE 6: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1300m: Chantilly Chateau Raced wide in the early and middle stages. A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to have a poor recovery. Crazy Mama Approaching the 600m was eased after improving onto heels. Ensign Blundered rounding the first turn. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Harada Tat Tat Declared a late scratching by order of stewards, acting on veterinary advice, at 5.06pm after the mare became very fractious in the barriers, reared over backwards and landed heavily on its hindquarters. Stewards ordered that all wagers on the mare be refunded and that all successful wagers placed with bookmakers prior to 5.06pm be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket, 16 cents the win and 18 cents the place for 1st (Chloride), 18 cents the place for 2nd (Kylie s Rocking) and 15 cents the place for 3 rd (Moringa s Stroller). Trainer Mr D. Bowen was advised that the mare is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards, on two consecutive 4

5 occasions, prior to its next race start. Jockey B. Looker was assessed by the clubs ambulance officers and cleared of any serious injury. Hidden Rock Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Kyspeil Overraced in the early and middle stages. Passing the 400m was eased after improving onto heels. Moringa s Stroller Raced wide in the early and middle stages. My Boy Louie Inclined to lay out in the middle stages and down the straight. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Summers Day Slow to begin. Overraced approaching the 1000m. Sunset Hills When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding apprentice M. Murphy stated he was instructed to settle in a handy mid position in an effort to ensure the gelding runs out the 1300m journey with the heavy weight impost. M. Murphy added that he did not ride his mount out in the early stages in an effort to ride to instructions however the field quickly improved and his mount settled at the tail of the field. M. Murphy added his mount was off the bit from the 500m and was unable to make any ground on the field in the straight. When questioned, trainer Mrs D. Murphy confirmed the instructions and advised that she did not believe the gelding appreciated racing at the tail of the field around a track which is difficult to make ground on. Mrs Murphy was advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings poor performance. Mrs Murphy was fined $200 for failing to advise a change of tactics (AR135A). RACE 7: Class 1 Handicap 1200m: Academy Hill Bumped on jumping. Cladestine Affair Bumped on jumping. Passing the 1100m was eased and carried in abruptly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Field of Fire Slow to begin. Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Near the 300m became held up on heels and was unable to be fully tested until near the 150m. Gallant Dragon Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1100m was eased when awkwardly placed on heels. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Gotta Chance Began awkwardly and lost ground (~2L). Ilia Began awkwardly. Near the 500m was momentarily eased when tightened for room. Carried out abruptly near the 150m. Just Imagine Slow to begin. Koodlydoe Passing the 700m was eased after improving onto heels. 5

6 Masked Model Began awkwardly. Jockey B. Stewart (Super Suave) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, under AR137(a), in that passing the 1000m he permitted his mount to shift in and tighten Masked Model onto the rail for a number of strides resulting in that runner being continually checked before shifting in fully across the running of Masked Model resulting in it being checked severely to avoid his mounts heels. B. Stewards license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Monday 17 October 2016 and to expire on Monday 31 October 2016, on which day he may ride. Inclined to hang out in the middle stages and down the straight. Shifted out abruptly near the 150m. Mosport Inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages. Regal Lad Eased when tightened between runners approaching the 1100m. Near the 400m was steadied when bumped onto the running rail. Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Taajir Eased after improving onto heels near the 200m. SWABS: Sample were taken from all winners and Legal Stature.
