RACE 1: F&M Maiden Handicap 1106m: Bourbon Belle Slow to begin. Inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages. Famed Declared a late scratching by order of stewards, acting on veterinary advice, at 11.46am after the mare became fractious in the barriers and kicked the hind gates for an extended period of time. Stewards ordered that all wagers on the mare be refunded and that all successful wagers placed with bookmakers prior to 11.46am be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket, 10 cents the win and 14 cents the place for 1st (My Cousin Jackie), 11 cents the place for 2nd (Consolari) and 12 cents the place for 3 rd (Crazy As Zou). Trainer Mr J. Shelton was advised that the mare is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start. Miss Sminker Declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 11.45am after the filly proved very difficult to mount before bucking and dislodging its rider en route to the barriers. Supreme Babe Inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages. Bumped rounding the home turn. RACE 2: C,G&E Maiden Handicap 1106m: Don t Remember Raced very wide in the early and middle stages. Fonessa Hampered passing the 100m. Glycine Max Slow to begin. Near the 600m was steadied when buffeted between runners. Monty s Bro Slow to begin. Eased when momentarily tightened for room approaching the 800m. Peyto Joe Began very awkwardly, resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced, and lost significant ground (~15L). Trainer Mr P. Minter was advised that the gelding is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start. Solar Ray Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1000m raced fiercley and lost ground (~5L) when overly restrained by its apprentice rider to settle at the rear of the field. Near the 600m was checked after improving into insufficient racing room. Sonador Cellar Overraced rounding the first turn. Jockey Ms V. Johnston was fined $200 for using her whip on 3 additional occasions to the 5 permitted prior to the 100m (AR137A(5)(a)(ii)). Sun Hawk Slow to begin. Inclined to overrace in the middle stages. Yeah the Boys Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Laid in at the entrance to the straight. RACE 3: Benchmark 55 Handicap 2210m: Code Word Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Far Out (NZ) A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to have a poor recovery rate. 2

3 Jack Strikes Back Raced wide in the early stages. Lillooet Rounding the home turn became held up on heels and was unable to improve until shifting inside heels at the entrance to the straight. Jockey Ms T. Harrison will be interviewed regarding her whip use prior to the 100m at a date to be fixed. Lobban Dynamite Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Metro Myth Blundered on jumping. Raced very wide in the early stages. Muddy Hole Rounding the home turn became held up on heels and was unable to improve until shortly after straightening. Play My Hand (NZ) Passing the 500m was eased when awkwardly placed on heels. Unable to improve from this point to shortly after straightening when held up on heels. So Hot Raced wide in the early stages. Tectonics Whilst loaded in the barrier jockey L. Rolls attempted to strike the gelding in the upper neck region with his right hand and pulled down on the geldings mouth with his off side rein on two occasions in response to it being mildly fractious. L. Rolls was fined $200 (AR175(q)). Inclined to overrace approaching and passing the 1400m. With Every Bound Overraced in the early stages. Inclined to overrace in the middle stages. Apprentice Ms C. Schmidt will be interviewed regarding her whip use prior to the 100m at a date to be fixed. RACE 4: Class 3 Handicap 1406m: Adizero Ran out abruptly on jumping. Castanita When questioned regarding leading the event jockey Ms T. Harrison stated that in the past her mount has raced best when able to settle in a forward position. Ms Harrison added that in recent starts the mare has been beginning poorly and consequently has been obliged to settle further back. Ms Harrison stated that today her mount jumped well and obtained the lead comfortably. Dream Habit Slow to begin. Unable to be fully tested over the final 200m when held up on heels. Elite Dubleo Overraced approaching and rounding the first turn. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Gottakeepthefaith Overraced rounding the first turn. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Johnny Feedback (NZ) Hampered shortly after the start. Momentarily held up on heels at the entrance to the straight. 3

4 Napayshini Slow to begin. Our First One Overraced approaching and rounding the first turn. Inclined to overrace in the middle stages. Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Laid out under pressure over the final 200m. Star Fest Raced wide in the early stages. Overraced rounding the first turn. Sunset In Venice Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to have a poor recovery. Zombie Queen Over the concluding stages was steadied when tightened for room between Castanita, which shifted out away from Our First One, and Wild Blue Yonder which shifted in slightly. Jockey Ms T. Harrison (Castanita) was issued a reprimand (AR137(a)). RACE 5: Class 1 & Maiden Plate 1706m: Allira s Diamond Began awkwardly. Duporche Slow to begin. Follow Through Began awkwardly. Hard Choices Inclined to overrace in the early stages. Hope Island Trainer Mr D. Bowen advised that the gelding would be spelled. Lippy and Pearls Carried wide rounding the home turn. Lucky Three Sevens Inclined to pull in the early stages. Jockey Ms S. Drake pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A(5)(a)(i) in that prior to the 100m she used her whip on 8 consecutive occasions. Ms Drake s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Monday 19 September 2016 and to expire on Friday 30 September 2016, on which day she may ride. Ms Drake was issued a reprimand for using her whip on 5 additional occasions to the 5 permitted prior to the 100m (AR137(A)(5)(a)(i)). Mystic Skies Slow to begin. Plouc When questioned regarding the racing manners of the gelding jockey M. McGuren stated that his mount settled in a handy position in the early stages however overraced and was inclined to hang in. M. McGuren stated that passing the 1200m, rather than continue to fight his mount which had refused to settle, he elected to allow it to stride forward in the hope it would become tractable. M. McGuren stated that upon doing so his mount commenced to hang out and ran wide on the track however he was able to get it back to a position outside the leader near the 900m. M. McGuren stated he was able to hold his mount in this position for a short distance before it again commenced to hang out passing the 700m and continued to the entrance to the straight were it ran wide on the track. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Trainer Mr M. Dunn was advised that the gelding is required to barrier trial to the 4

5 satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Mr Dunn was advised that the gelding would be spelled. RACE 6: Class 1 & Maiden Plate 1706m: Aimee s Game Began awkwardly and ran out abruptly. Overraced in the early stages. Passing the 300m shifted in abruptly and bumped another runner. Cantillate Slow to begin (2L). Bumped and unbalanced passing the 300m. Clanga Dehere Buffeted between runners shortly after the start. Overaced in the early stages. Dream Stepper Bumped and unbalanced shortly after the start. Overraced in the early stages. Husonique Jockey D. Jones was fined $100 for using his whip on 1 additional occasion to the 5 permitted prior to the 100m (AR137A(5)(a)(ii)). I ll Miss You Passing the 200m was obliged to shift in around heels to continue to improve. Unable to be fully tested over the final 50m when racing in restricted room. Destiny s General Slow to begin. Lady Lobban Approaching the 500m was steadied after attempting to improve into insufficient racing room. Minimos Raced wide in the early and middle stages. One More Two More When questioned regarding the performance of the mare jockey M. McGuren stated that his mount settled in a position worse than 5

6 midfield, consistent with its normal racing pattern. M. McGuren stated that he was unable to work into the race between the 600m and 450m when held up behind other runners whilst the leader, and eventual winner, was able to pinch a break on his mount. M. McGuren stated that his mount sprinted well in the straight and would have been better suited being able to sustain a sprint off a genuine tempo. Our Minaan Slow to begin. Safety Peg Eased after improving onto heels near 800m. The Cavalry As M. Palmer was overweight stewards permitted L. Rolls to replace him as the rider of the gelding. M. Palmer was fined $100 (AR120(b)) RACE 8: Class 1 Handicap 1206m: Eddy Would Go Inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages. Passing the 500m was eased when tightened for room. Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Fear Factor When questioned regarding the performance of the colt jockey M. McGuren stated that his mount had blinkers added to its gear today and he intended to ensure it began well and settle were it was comfortable. M. McGuren stated that his mount began fairly however failed to muster early speed and rather than be caught wide without cover throughout the event he elected to ease and settle at the tail of the field with cover. M. McGuren stated that he was obliged to continually encourage his mount along throughout the entire event to keep with the field and at no stage did it feel comfortable on the shifty track conditions. M. McGuren stated that he presented his mount with clear running at the entrance to the straight however it failed to sprint and made no ground on the field. A post race veterinary examination of the colt revealed it to be tying up. Trainer Mr M. Dunn advised that the colt would be spelled and undertook to trial it prior to its next race start. Just Imagine Began awkwardly. Moringa s Tootsie A pre race veterinary examination of the mare, which had aggravated and old wound on its forehead, passed it fit to compete. Bumped and unbalanced near the 100m. Pat Kash (NZ) Began awkwardly. Inclined to overrace in the middle stages. Seektowin Slow to begin. Approaching the 1000m was steadied after improving into insufficient racing room. Shortly after straightening was obliged to ease out around heels to continue to improve. Approaching the 150m was checked and buffeted heavily between runners after attempting to improve into insufficient racing room. Jockey Ms S. Young was counselled by stewards in regard to her handling of the gelding near the 1000m and 150m. Skysail Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Laid out down the straight. Inclined to lay in down the straight. RACE 10: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1106m: Far Dooley Bumped shortly after the start. Interject Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Magic Topaze Raced wide in the early stages. Approaching the 100m was steadied after improving onto heels and was not tested for the remainder of the event. Market Guru Slow to begin and bumped shortly after. Monday s Expert Raced very wide in the early and middle stages. Sky Brook Hampered and carried in passing the 100m. Strada Hill Raced very wide in the early and middle stages. Vanishka Shifted out under pressure approaching the 200m. Via Torrone Slow to begin and eased when tightened between runners shortly after.
