Hanson Stewards Secretary W. Ostrofski GENERAL As Beau Appo was ill (Race 1) and R. Fradd was dually engaged (Race 2), riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Race 1: CELLAR MAINTENANCE AUSTRALIA MAIDEN H CAP 1000M LADY CROMAC Checked at the 700m by the riderless DATASTAR. Laid in under pressure for the majority of the home straight. ZOFF N OFF Leaving the 300m was checked away from the heels of the riderless DATASTAR, shifted out and made contact with OUR GRACIOUS DANE. MAHRATTA Checked at the 600m by the riderless DATASTAR. Held up from the 500m until approaching the 200m. OUR GRACIOUS DANE Bumped heavily by the riderless DATASTAR shortly after the

2 start. Raced wide throughout. Hampered by the riderless DATASTAR near the 300m. LIMBO STAR Slow to begin. Held up near the 300m and was obliged to alter course to the inside to obtain clear running. MYTANG Following an application from trainer C. Munce, stewards permitted the filly to race without a tongue tie, which was listed as part of the horse s gear. A public announcement was made to this effect. BELIEVE THE DREAM T. Harrison reported that the horse travelled well in the run, however failed to let down in the straight and proved disappointing. Trainer R. Wilson advised stewards that the mare had undergone a Caslick procedure, however, he was disappointed with the performance today. Mr Wilson added that it was the intention to review the horse s racing future in the coming days. BIA TYCHE Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. DATASTAR Experienced a float breakdown en route to the course, examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the track and passed fit to start. Shifted in abruptly at the start, dislodging its rider. Prior to being recaptured by the Clerk of the Course DATASTAR jumped the outside fence at the 1800m chute, left the racecourse precinct and galloped for a significant distance before being recaptured. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor abrasions. SPLASH OF CRISTAL Raced wide throughout. Race 2: SUNSHINE COAST DAILY QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE 1200M The start of this race was delayed significantly due to staff being delayed in the recapture of the riderless DATASTAR following Race 1. BUGARI Had some difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn and then laid out under pressure, obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten approaching the 100m. CLAIRVUE Raced greenly when placed under pressure approaching the 600m and commenced to weaken from the 400m and finished last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer L. Birchley indicated that in light off the horse s two starts this preparation, the horse would now be gelded and sent for a spell. SUPERNORMAL As B. Stewart was indisposed due to illness, A. Allen was substituted as rider. B. Stewart was advised that he will require a medical clearance prior to resuming riding. Raced three wide without cover. Placed in restricted room when racing greenly after passing the 600m and had to be steadied. YOU DONT SAY MOLLY Jumped awkwardly and was then tightened for room at the start and had to be checked. Overraced from the 1000m and was steadied from heels on a number of occasions until the 600m. BEACH DRUM Inconvenienced by another runner when rounding the home turn.

3 GEM OF THE LOCHS Held up rounding the home turn and was disappointed for a run near the 400m. LUCKY JACKSON Raced wide throughout. BOINGO Slow to begin. WAS AGONA Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Race 3: CMA ACCOUNTING AND TAXATION SERVICES MAIDEN PLATE 1400M BAR FLY BARRISTER Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was again obliged to alter course after passing the 300m. STREET COMIC Bumped by another runner near the 1000m. TECHNO SAVVY Raced three wide without cover. FOXARELLI Significantly tightened for room on jumping away and had to be checked. SAFE HARBOUR Raced wide throughout. J. Lloyd reported that it had been his intention to ride the horse in a more forward position, however the horse was unable to muster early speed despite his urgings and settled in the second half of the field. ON SHOW Significantly tightened for room on jumping away and had to be checked. Overraced in the early stages. NO MORE HEIGHTS Raced wide throughout. DARESAY Shifted out in an attempt to improve near the 1000m and in doing so made heavy contact with STREET COMIC. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the off hind cannon. Race 4: SCOTT MCMAHON ELECTRICAL CLASS 3 H CAP 1800M PETER JOHN Weakened badly over the concluding stages. D. Browne reported that the horse travelled well in running, however did not respond when placed under pressure at the top of the straight and weakened. Trainer J. Sargent s representative Ms K. Wells confirmed disappointment in the performance and indicated that the stable would have veterinary tests performed over the coming days and report the findings to stewards and also the intentions with the horse during the current preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. TACAMAA BLUE Obliged to steady to avoid heels after passing the 1600m when in restricted room to the inside of ALSEEYA, which was crossing to the lead. T. Harrison, the rider of ALSEEYA, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. TESSASTOCK Slow to begin. Raced four wide without cover from the 800m when shifted wider and pressured to improve.

4 CAPTAIN DODGE R. Stewart said that the horse was very disappointing, weakened badly in the home straight and he was of the view that the horse had come to the end of its preparation. Trainer C. Munce confirmed that he would recommend to connections to send the horse for a spell. SUBSOLAR Slow to begin. BIGMOREDRIVE Slow to begin. Tightened for room onto the hind quarters of TESSASTOCK approaching the 500m and had to be checked. L. Tarrant, the rider of POSTSEA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that at that point he shifted his mount out in an attempt to improve around the heels of STORM GIRL and in doing so tightened BIGMOREDRIVE onto the hind quarters of TESSASTOCK. L. Tarrant s licence to ride in races was suspended for 10 days, to commence at midnight on Sunday 28 May and expire at midnight on Wednesday 7 June Race 5: FLYING START SYNDICATIONS CLASS 1 H CAP 1600M ELUSIVE AFFAIR Slow to begin. SHOW A FLICK Steadied when placed in restricted room passing the 1500m. OUR BOY BOLT Laid in throughout. Apprentice R. Ride dropped her whip approaching the 200m. Race 6: PLASTER WAREHOUSE PTY LTD CLASS 5 H CAP 1400M BECKONING LIGHT Slow to begin. TROIS CHOIX Connections advised that it would be the intention to have the mare ridden just behind the lead. The horse was ridden accordingly. TOPENDING Slow to begin. LITTLE WEALTH Began awkwardly and lost ground. BEAUMARIS Slow to begin. Race 7: PRYDE S EASIFEED BENCHMARK 80 H CAP 1200M JACK LANCASTER Forced wider by another runner passing the 800m. DANGER CLOSE Hung out from the 800m and raced extremely wide until entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G. Duncan was advised that the horse must trial in front of stewards prior to its next start. PRECIPITATE J. Lloyd reported that in his opinion the horse resented racing in the tongue tie today and had advised connections that in his opinion they should consider removing this piece of gear for the next start.

5 Race 8: PADDY WALSH PAINTING & SOLID PLASTERING CLASS 1 H CAP 1200M GLONASS Bumped by another runner at the start. CHIC SALE Began extremely awkwardly, almost dislodging its rider and losing ground, and then hung out badly throughout and took no competitive part in the event. Connections were advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of stewards. J. Lloyd reported that in his opinion the horse resented racing in the Kyneton nose band, which was an addition to the horse s gear in today s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than that the horse had lost both fore plates in running. DODGE THE PRESS Apprentice M. McGillivray reported that from the 600m the gelding felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. ADARNI Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner. JACQUERIC Raced wide throughout. HUKA PELE Tightened for room at the start and had to be checked. Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Over the concluding stages, when racing in close proximity to CRIMSON GOD, attempted to savage that runner. Stewards drew this to the attention of trainer T. Bell and placed a warning on the horse s record. RAINBOW SPIRIT Raced three wide without cover. CRIMSON GOD Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. REGAL LAD Lunged forward in the barriers and made heavy contact with the front gates prior to the start. The veterinary surgeon reported that post-race the gelding had blood present in one nostril which he believed could be attributable to external trauma.
