3 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY & SPECIAL REGULATIONS 1. All vendors will be deemed to agree with these conditions of entry upon signature of the official Entry Form. Entry Forms available from the official Auctioneers. 2. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel the event, to limit or refuse entries should the number of entries exceed the accommodation available, or to divide or amalgamate classes at their sole discretion. 3. Disclaimer: All entries for the sale must be bona-fide property of the Vendor who will hereby indemnify the Shetland Sheep Society, the Organisers and Sale Managers, against all claims arising from faulty title to the same or from any other cause. The Shetland Sheep Society, their representatives, judges, inspectors, stewards and the auctioneers are acting in good faith on behalf of the participating vendors and accept no responsibility or liability of any death, accident or injury to people, animals or property at the event. Vendors and purchasers are responsible for their animals at all times. 4. Entries will be confined strictly to registered animals. All vendors are reminded that The Shetland Sheep Society check all entries and that unregistered stock will not be accepted. Entries will only be accepted for show and sale, or sale only. No lots for show only. 5. One Male per vendor plus one extra male for every three females entered. 6. All livestock entries must be identifiable by ear tag, adhering to current DEFRA regulations, which must correspond with the catalogue entry. Any animal not so identifiable will be REJECTED from the sale. Under no circumstances will substitute animals be allowed into the sale. 7. All livestock entries must be made on the official entry forms which must be completed in every particular. Official Entry Forms may be obtained from the Auctioneers. 8. ENTRIES CLOSE on 4 th September Completed Entry forms must be delivered to the Auctioneers office on or prior to that date, together with remittance for the Entry Fees, as appropriate. Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted under any circumstances. Telephoned or faxed entries are not acceptable. 9. ENTRY FEES are as listed on the entry form and must be submitted to the Auctioneers at the time of entry. Entry fees are non-returnable under any circumstances unless dictated by DEFRA. Any stock entered for sale and refused by the Society for being unregistered will only have half monies returned.
4 10. Inspection: An inspection at which Vendors must be present will be carried out on mouth, feet, udders, teats, testicles, type and condition of all sheep. 11. The Shetland Sheep Society will be responsible for the breed inspection. The society will provide stewards, inspectors, judges, and Champion and Reserve Champion Rosettes for the show. 12. Inspections of sheep will take place in an allocated area. 13. Reserve Prices: Vendors shall have the right to fix a Reserve Price for any or all of their entries. Such Reserve Prices must be completed and handed to the Auctioneers, in writing, no later than the time the animal enters the sale ring. 14. No animal may be sold privately prior to the sale and all animals must be passed through the sale ring. Animals may be sold by private treaty after the auction but all such transactions must be passed through the Auctioneers office and full commission will be charged. 15. The sale is licensed and authorised by the appropriate local authority and by DEFRA and will be organised and conducted strictly in accordance with the regulations and special requirements of those bodies. 16. Straw will be provided by the Auctioneers. All vendors must provide their own feeding stuffs and drinking utensils. 17. Order of sale. All stock will be sold strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is authorised and announced by the Auctioneers. 18. Pedigree Transfers: Purchasers should collect pedigree papers from the Vendors after the sale. Please note, Green Certificates are sheep registered on the main register, Pink are sheep on the experimental register, Blue and with an X suffix are sheep on the grading up register.
5 Crossbred and Non Pedigree Shetland Sheep are to be sold under the Livestock Auctioneers Conditions of Sale, which are available in the market office Greenslade Taylor Hunt, Sedgemoor Auction Centre Livestock Pennage Security Policy To prevent the escape of livestock from the pennage area, please ensure: Outer loading bay gates are securely chained to vehicle tailboard gates whilst unloading or loading stock. It will be deemed negligence if this is not done. Second set of laoding bay gates to be secured with sliding fastener after unloading. Gates are always to be left in closed position when vacating laoding bays. In the event of an escape raise the alarm and ensure entrance and exit gates are closed. Once entrance and exit gates are closed, then proceed to recapture stock. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
