3 Rules & Regulations: Trillium at Palgrave Bronze & Silver Divisions SECTION 1: MEMBERSHIPS 1. Any rider(s) entering any class/division at this horse show, and any person or group listed as the owner(s) in the EQUESTRIAN CANADA (EC) Competition Horse Recordings of any horse or pony entered in any class or division at this horse show, MUST be current members in good standing of Ontario Equestrian (OE) and must supply original or photocopy of their 2018 OE membership card at the show. Exhibitors, Owners or Lessees, and individuals accepting legal responsibility for an entry MUST be current Equestrian Canada Sport License holders in good standing and must supply original or photocopy of their 2018 EC Sport License with their entry form, whether or not they intend to collect points towards Central East Zone year end awards or qualify for the Trillium Championships. Exemptions: Parents/Guardians signing their children s entry forms, Lead Line riders. Exhibitors, Owners or Lessees, and individuals accepting legal responsibility for an entry who do not hold a valid Sport License are permitted to participate with the purchase of a Temporary Sport License. (EC Gen Regs, Chapter 2) 2. Any rider(s) entering any class or division at the horse show, and any person or group listed as the Owner(s) in the EQUESTRIAN CANADA Competition Horse Recordings (EC Gen Reg Chapter 4) of any horse or pony entered in any class/division at this horse show MUST be current members in good standing of the Trillium Hunter Jumper Association (THJA) in order to have prize winnings at this horse show count for points towards qualifying for the Trillium Championships and Central East Zone year-end awards. THIS INCLUDES THE OWNERS OF LEASED HORSES UNLESS THE LEASE IS OFFICIALLY REGISTERED WITH EC. 3. All riders and Owners of horses or ponies entered in the Silver and Bronze divisions/classes at this horse show require current EQUESTRIAN CANADA Sport Licenses in order to have prize winnings count for points towards qualifying for the Trillium Championships and Central East Zone year end awards. Results achieved while competing with a Temporary Sport License may not be used to accumulate points or qualify for Trillium Championships. A COPY OR ORIGINAL CARDS MUST BE AT THE HORSE SHOW. 4. Fully updated EQUESTRIAN CANADA horse recordings and current Horse Licenses are required for all horses and ponies competing. Exceptions: Horses competing only in Bronze division classes, horses competing only in the Hack division and horses competing only in Lead Line classes. Any competitors that do not have proof of appropriate memberships for their division must purchase a temporary license. SECTION 2: ADMINISTRATION 1. Entries and applicable fees must be received on or before the closing date to avoid post entry fees. CLOSING DATE: Friday May 25, It is the responsibility of the entrant to provide proof of timely entry submission should there be a disagreement regarding time of entry. All entries will be marked with date and time of reception. Please make all cheques payable to Pickering Horse Centre Ltd. 2. Refunds: Administration and stall fees are not refundable, No Exceptions. Entry fees will be returned if cancelled in the show office 24 hours prior to the first class entered with proper medical documentation. Once a horse has entered the show grounds, there will be no refund unless authorized by the show committee. 3. No numbers will be issued without full payment or a signed open cheque left to cover all charges and fees incurred by the exhibitor. No numbers will be issued to any horse or rider for whom an entry blank has not been fully completed. 4. All NO SHOW entries, including faxed-in entries, will be charged full entry fees and all other applicable fees. All accounts must be settled prior to the next show, otherwise entries will be denied, and no points will be awarded. Please note any outstanding accounts at year end will not be eligible to receive year end awards. No telephone entries, stabling or scratches can be accepted. Scratched entries providing notification 24 hours in advance without a veterinarian certificate will be assessed a $25.00 scratch fee and administration fees. All unpaid fees will be considered an outstanding account until paid in full. Any classes/divisions entered but not completed will be charged. There will be no refund for classes scratched

4 on the day of competition for any reason. You may change from one class/division to another at no additional charge as long as it has been cleared by the office. 5. No cell phone pictures of entries will be accepted. 6. A $50.00 charge will be added to all accounts paid with cheques that are returned from the bank for any reason. 7. Show Management reserves the right to change or amend show scheduling up to one (1) hour prior to the designated class. 8. Stabling & Camper Space must be arranged directly with EMG: Fax (905) Please see the Stabling Form for details. No Refunds. SECTION 3: GENERAL 1. Current EQUESTRIAN CANADA rules will govern all classes. 2. To compete in the under saddle class, the horse must complete at least one course over fences. 3. Protests, if any, must be made in writing and must be in the hands of the secretary within 48 hours of completion of the class concerned. No protest will be considered unless accompanied by a deposit of $50.00 which shall be forfeited to the committee if said protests are not sustained. Protesting an animal s height carries a $ cash deposit. NOTE: Protests are usually made through the steward of the horse show. Also available at the horse show office are Exhibitor Report Forms. These require no cash deposit and may be submitted to the show office, the steward or sent directly to OE. 4. After being eliminated for a fall, the rider may not remount in the ring. 5. Proper show attire, including jackets, is required for all divisions and classes, including all jumper divisions and judged warm-up classes, unless excused by judge or show management. NOTE: Jumper riders are expected to bring show jackets to ride in their classes. Individual show managers may make specific decisions regarding this rule. Jackets ARE NOT excused unless announced. Exhibitors without jackets may not be permitted to show. 6. Jumper classes, unless otherwise indicated in the Horse Show Prize List and Show Program, will be run under FEI Article 238. For rules pertaining to Tack and Equipment please refer to EC Article G Competitors must be junior or amateur in Medal Classes. 8. Approved headgear: Junior competitors must wear proper fitting, approved protective headgear, with the safety harness correctly secured, at all times while mounted on competition or event grounds. Approved headgear meets the ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) standards and displays the SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) seal. The British standard, BSI is also acceptable. 9. Headgear: Anyone mounted on a horse must wear ASTM or BSI approved helmets, with safety harness correctly fastened at all times while mounted on the competition grounds. Juniors showing any horse in a jog for soundness must wear approved protective headgear with the attached safety harness fastened. 10. Management reserves the right to limit or close the entries of any classes or divisions in an effort to adhere to the timetable 11. Any horse entered in any class at a competition subject to the requirements to pay drug testing fees may, while on the competitions grounds and on the recommendation of the chair of the provincial Equine Medication Control Committee or the chair appointee, be selected for equine medication control testing. 12. Per Article A801, every entry at an EC sanctioned competition shall constitute an agreement by the person responsible that the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, driver or rider and horse shall be subject to the EC constitution and all rules of EC and any additional rules set be the competition. It is the responsibility of of all individuals participating in any capacity in the EC sanctioned competitions to be knowledgeable regarding the EC constitution and the applicable rules of EC and the additional rules, if any, imposed by the competition. Do not participate in this EC sanctioned competition in any capacity if you do not consent to be bound by the constitution and rules of EC and any additional rules imposed by the competition. 13. All entry forms must be signed by the competitor if they are an adult, and must have a parent/guardian signature for juniors. Coaches/Trainers are not allowed to sign for competitors. No competitor will be allowed to show without the required signature and will be liable for administration fees and scratch fees. 14. Code Of Conduct: It is inappropriate to shout instructions or critique a rider as they are in competition. Providing guidance in a normal speaking voice when the rider is near the in-gate is acceptable. Shouting instructions is very distracting. This is against the Equestrian Canada rules of conduct.

5 SECTION 4: CALEDON EQUESTRIAN PARK POLICIES 1. All motorized vehicles including golf carts, scooters, dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, etc may be operated by fully licensed drivers only. Vehicles will be impounded by the competition and also held liable if this rule is not enforced. 2. Exhibitors/Trailers/Campers: Please use North Entrance at 49 Buckstown Trail. 3. Vehicles must be parked in designated areas only. There is no parking on the roads or barn areas at all. 4. Horses must be bathed in wash rack areas only. These areas are for washing horses only. 5. Signs/ads/posters etc are not permitted to be added to any wall (including back of washroom doors) 6. Once delivered to the stalls (as indicated on stall chart) EMG is not responsible for any hay and shavings that are removed by unauthorized person. All hay and shavings orders must be made in writing. Pre- orders should be in writing on a separate order form. 7. The Caledon Equestrian Park Pavilion is a licensed area. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the pavilion other than those purchased at the bar located inside the pavilion. 8. As in all public parks all dogs must be kept on a leash and all owners must abide by the Town of Caledon Poop & Scoop By-law. The competition is responsible for the enforcement of this requirement and has the right to request owners to remove any dog from property if they do not comply with the Bylaw or if dog is a nuisance, disruptive or aggressive. 9. There is absolutely no grey water drainage allowed on the grounds and all exhibitors must adhere to this Town of Caledon by-law. 10. No open camp fires permitted on the Park at any time. 11. Horses remaining on the property overnight must have an assigned stall. No Horses to be kept in trailers or temporary corrals or pens. 12. All occupied campers (including horse trailers with living quarters) must book and pay for an assigned camper space. Horses may move in on Thursday June 7, 2018 and must move out by 9:00 pm on Sunday June 10, Absolutely NO TENTS ALLOWED. 13. Hacking in rings will be permitted until the arrival of the tractor each morning (Hunter Rings Only). Providing for the continuous wellbeing of horses by encouraging routine inspection and consultation with health care professionals and competition officials to achieve the highest possible standards of nutrition, health, comfort, sanitation and safety as a matter of standard operating procedure. Continuing to support scientific studies on equine health and welfare. Increasing education in training and horsemanship practices. Requiring owners, trainers and exhibitors to know and follow their sanctioning organization s rules and to work within industry regulations in all equestrian competitions. Reviewing, revising and developing competition rules and regulations that protect the welfare of horses. The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a reasonable person, informed and experienced in generally accepted equine training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be neither cruel, abusive nor inhumane. All participants at Central East shows are expected to abide by this statement of Principle.

7 Trillium At Palgrave Silver Divisions/Classes SMALL/MEDIUM/LARGE PONY HUNTER DIVISION Entry: $95.00 Fences: Small: 2 3 fences, Medium: 2 6 fences, Large: 2 9 fence. Small/Medium Open to ponies 13.2HH and under. Only B or C riders may ride small and medium ponies. Large Open to ponies exceeding 13.2HH but not exceeding 14.2HH. A, B or C riders may ride large ponies. Open to juniors only. 1. Over Fences 2. Over Fences 3. Over Fences Stake 4. Under Saddle SHORT STIRRUP HUNTER DIVISION Entry: $95.00 Fences: will not exceed 21 inches and the course will be comprised of a maximum of eight fences. Course to consist of verticals only, no oxers. Open to C riders. Short Stirrup riders may not cross enter any other classes except for C Equitation on the flat and My First Medal. Open to both horses and ponies, however lines (distances) will not be adjusted. Ideally, Horse/Rider combination are able to ride all lines with the same consistency in rhythm and pace. 5. 9 ADULT AMATEUR TRAINING HUNTER DIVISION Entry: $95.00 Fences: 2 6. Open to adult amateurs riding horses. Riders are not eligible to compete in any division with a height over 2 6. They are permitted to cross enter into Hunter Development Division, Hack Division, and age appropriate Equitation Flat. No ponies allowed. 45. Over Fences 46. Over Fences 47. Over Fences Stake 48. Under Saddle HACK DIVISION Entry: $75.00 Horses showing in the hack division may be of any breed or combination of breeds. Ponies are not permitted. Martingales, breastplates, boots or any kind and/or bandages are prohibited. Drop and flash nose bands are prohibited. Brow bands shall be leather or any description but not solid white, coloured or sequenced. Whips are not permitted. In the event of a tie, horses shall be shown in hand and judged on conformation. 49. Show Hack as per current EC rules (Art. F1101) 50. Road Hack as per current EC rules (Art. F1102) 51. Pleasure Hack as per current EC rules (Art. F1103) EQUITATION CLASSES Class Entry: $30.00 Conditions as outlined in the current EC rules. Junior A : a rider who is 15, 16, 17 on January 1 st, Junior B : a rider who is 12, 13, 14 on January 1 st Junior C : a rider who is under 12 on January 1st. 52. C Equitation Flat 53. Adult Equitation Over Fences MEDAL CLASSES Class Entry: $30.00 The medal class will consist of an equitation style course including two tests. The top 10 riders from this phase may be called back for additional equitation testing on the flat. Tack remains the same in all phases. Riders can walk the course. Medal to be judged 60% over fences and 40% on the flat. 59. Small/Medium/Large Pony Medal 60. Children s Training Medal 61. Modified Children s Medal 62. Children s Medal 63. Trillium Jumper Medal 1.0M (Specs below) Originally created on the image of the CET Medal, the Trillium Jumper Medal has evolved into a specialty class unique to the Trillium Circuit. These specifications supersede those of the EC CET medal. This class is open to Junior and Amateur riders only. Jumping phase to be ridden first. Tack & Equipment All tack and equipment remains the same for both phases. Only running martingales used in the conventional manner are permitted. No standing martingales, draw reins or restricted running martingales are permitted. Conservative coloured headgear (As per Article G1109) with no additional adornment. Stirrups are restricted as per Article G1109-G) Judging Jumping phase to be conducted under current EC jumper rules. In addition, the class will be judged on seat, hand, guidance and control. Jumper Medal to be judged 60% over fences and 40% on the flat.

10 Jumping Phase The jumping phase should be over a course of at least nine (9) fences. Fences will not exceed 3 3 in height with a spread not to exceed the height. The course must contain at least one double or triple combination with at least one spread fence. Other spread fences are required elsewhere on the course. A Liverpool is optional. Flat Phase All riders, or a maximum of twelve who complete the Jumping Phase, shall be called back to perform on the flat. During the flat phase, riders will show a working walk, the working trot sitting, the working trot rising, and showing a lengthening of stride, the working canter and the working canter showing a lengthening of stride. The working canter on the counter lead must be demonstrated for at least one full revolution of the ring in each direction. The top four riders in the flat phase may be asked to complete a short test determined by the judge. When this test is being ridden, the riders will turn their backs so they cannot watch the other competitors. 0.90M JUMPER DIVISION Class Entry: $45.00 Fences: Maximum 0.90 metres. Open to all horses and ponies. Run under Table A and FEI Article Table A (FEI Article 238) 67. Table A Speed 68. Table A (FEI Article 238) 1.0/1.10M JUMPER DIVISION Class Entry: $45.00 Fences: Maximum 1.0 metres (Low) or 1.10 meters (High). Heights to be stated before class start.. Open to all horses. Run under Table A & FEI Article The 1.0M/1.10M jumpers will run combined except for at Championships. 69. Table A (FEI Article 238) 70. Table A Speed 71. Table A (FEI Article 238) Trillium At Palgrave Bronze Divisions/Classes LEAD LINE CLASS Entry: FREE Open to children who have not passed their 10th birthday as of January 1st. Riders may not cross enter into any other class. Riders/Ponies must be led by a capable handler. 72. Lead Line Class WALK/TROT EQUITATION Entry: $20.00 Riders may not cross enter into C Equitation classes. They may cross enter into the Cross Rail Hunter. 73. Walk/Trot Equitation on the flat CROSS RAIL HUNTER DIVISION Entry: $95.00 Riders showing in this division are not eligible to compete in any other classes except the Walk/Trot Equitation. Open to junior riders. Courses will contain a maximum of eight obstacles and will contain no combinations. 74. Over Fences 75. Over Fences 76. Over Fences Stake 77. Under Saddle (Walk / Trot only)

11 NOVICE HUNTER DIVISION Entry: $95.00 Fences: 2 0. Lines will be set at a minimum of 72 with no combinations. There will be no adjustment of striding for ponies showing in this division. Open to Junior and Amateur Riders. Horses or ponies in this division may enter other divisions requiring them to jump with a different rider.
