12 RULES OF ENTRY FOR THE SECTIONS OF BRITISH NOVICE, DISCOVERY, NEWCOMERS, FOXHUNTER KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice First Round (a) For Horses in Grade C that have not won a total of 125 points. Four Double Clears will qualify - in accordance with Rule (b) For all horses born on or after 1 January 2014 irrespective of points. Horses will only be eligible for double clear qualification to Second Rounds if they reach the age of four years or under in the same calendar year as the British Novice Final - in accordance with Rule Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery First Round (a) For Horses in Grade C that have not won a total of 225 points. Four double clears will qualify - in accordance with rule 3.6 (b) For all registered horses born on or after 1 January 2011 irrespective of points. Horses will be eligible for double clear qualification to attend second rounds providing they reach the age of seven years or under in the same calendar year as the Foxhunter Final - in accordance with rule 3.6 Four double clears will qualify. 12

13 Rules for CHALLENGE Classes 60, 61 & 62 Table A9 Two Round Competition The best five scores or all clear rounds will go forward to the second round which will be against the clock. In the event of equality, faults and time will decide i.e. the faster four faulters will qualify. All scores in the first round will be carried forward to the second round. Competitors in the second round will start in reverse order of merit or the slowest four faulter will go first, the faster clear last. If necessary those who did not reach the second round, faults and time in the first round will determine their placing. However he/she will be placed after those who compete in the second round. If a competitor withdraws from the second round he/she will not be replaced and he/she will receive placing from the first round. At least five prizes have to be awarded. Rules for GRAND PRIX Classes 55 & 58 This is a three round competition judged under Table A. The first round will be built at the height stated on the schedule and run at 325 mpm for class 55 and 350 mpm for class 58 with an appropriate time allowed. All horses/ponies jumping clear in the first round or, if there are fewer than clear rounds, the horses/ponies with the least number of faults go forward to the second round, carrying any faults incurred with them. First round time may be used to determine lower qualifiers to the second round where fewer clear rounds are recorded. Round two is jumped over a higher course of six or seven single fences, not against the clock. These should be additional fences to the first round track and should be set significantly higher than those in the first round ( - 15 cms). Horses/ponies with the highest number of faults/slower times in the first round will jump first, followed by those with the next highest and so on. The fastest clear round therefore jumping last. If there is equality of faults after the second round, there will be a jump-off over a shortened first round course. Lower placings will be decided first on the total number of faults, then on the time taken in the first round. The height of the jump off fences should be set in accordance with normal Table A rules. Rules for the Guernsey Pony MASTERS 2018 Class 74 This class is only eligible for ponies exceeding 128cms. This class is run on the basis of the Hickstead Masters and is a one round class but in two sections (A & B). First section (A) will be run over a course of 8 fences including a minimum one two doubles and will be judged under Table C Height 0.95m. Competitors will register a time for the first section (A) and then proceed immediately on to the second section (B). The finish flags for Section (A) and the start flags for section (B) will be placed together after the last jumping effort of Section (A). Section (B) will consist of four vertical fences numbered 1-4, preferably in a straight line (on related distances) and of similar appearance. The fences will be built ascending in height and to be numbered sequentially from the last fence of section A. (I.E.1.00m/1.05m/1.m/1.15m). Section (B) will be judged under Table A. Placings will be decided on faults incurred in section (B) and time recorded for section (A). Start and finish flags must denote the start and finish of each section. KEEN TROPHY COMPETITION Run as a year long competition over all affiliated shows along the lines of the Victor Ludorum. Qualifiers will be held at the Easter, Spring, Derby, Summer Shows with a Final at GHOYS. Eligible Combinations All Junior and Senior combinations but excluding Nursery and 128 cms combinations. Classes 2 Junior Sections - Small (Novice) & Large (Open) These may be combined and run under handicap if there are less than 5 entries in each section. 2 Senior Sections - Small (Novice) & Large (Open) These may be combined and run under handicap if there are less than 5 entries in each section. Combinations can move up from Small to Large however they are unable to move down from Large to Small. 13

The winner of the Keen Trophy will be the combination that has accumulated the most points over the whole years competition which includes all qualifiers and the final. If two or more combinations total points are equal at the end of the competition then they will be declared joint winners. 14

Entries in all showjumping classes are confined to horses/ponies registered with BS UK, BS Guernsey and BS Jersey, and must be ridden by members in accordance with Rule Competitors and owners entering their horses/ponies do so at their own risk and it is a condition of entry that no liability of any kind attaches to the BS UK/BS Guernsey, in any respect whatsoever, other than the refund of entry fees in the event of abandonment of the competition. All entries are accepted at the discretion of the BS Guernsey Committee. 9. It is the responsibility of all visiting competitors to ensure that their horses/ponies are entered into the correct class according to their points recorded with their local BS Branch.. All jumping classes will be judged in accordance with the rules of the BS UK as published in the Rule and Year Book Classes may be divided, amalgamated, handicapped or cancelled depending on the number of entries received. In the event of insufficient starters lower prizes may be withheld in accordance with Rule Drawn order will be as per the programme and late entries will jump first. 13. The judges may set a standard in any competition and competitors must retire when they reach this standard. However this does not apply to the Grand Prix classes where the number of horses/ponies being taken into the second round will be decided by the Judge depending on the number of starters / faults incurred in the first round. 14. The Committee reserve the right to disqualify from all further classes at the Show any competitor whose behaviour in the opinion of the Committee is in contravention of Rule 82 governing the conduct of members. The Committee also reserve the right to take further disciplinary action as they see fit. 15. The Committee reserve the right to request a valid JMB Height Certificate where there is a height restriction in a class. 16. Competitors may enter 2 classes per day except where stated. 17. Refund of entry money will be paid in accordance with Rule No new horse/pony registrations or memberships will be accepted on any show day. 19. Visiting competitors who are members of BS UK riding BS UK registered horses MUST provide details of their current BS UK membership cards and horse registration on the entry form. 20. Competitors/Grooms/Visitors must observe all the directions of the organising committee and officials, especially in relation to health & safety matters Please note that there are affiliated classes at this Show, these class numbers are highlighted in yellow. As a result of holding such classes please could competitors who are members of BS UK riding BS UK registered horses or ponies ensure that they provide their current BS UK membership and horse / pony registration number on the entry form. However please do not state your BS UK numbers unless you are a fully paid up member of BS UK. For those who wish to compete in the affiliated classes who are either not a BS UK member or are not a fully paid up member will jump on a ticket.

17 22. Horses/ponies must not be left unattended on the Showground at any time. 23. All competitors including Visitors MUST put entries in the day before, for classes they wish to compete in the following day. 24. Class amendments/changes close the day before at 4pm no further changes will be allowed (unless a horse/pony upgrades). 25. Due to the close proximity of Guernsey airport, visiting riders are advised that the showground is located directly under the flight path therefore low flying aircraft are a common occurrence ed programmes are not available for this show programmes will be on sale at the Showground.
